  • I had refrigerator oatmeal for breakfast (oatmeal, vanilla yogurt, milk, jam, and fresh berries). The brands of yogurt and jam I use are pretty clean but there is fair amount of sugar involved. Lunch was a fail; chicken sandwich at Wendy's. I don't remember the last time I ate at Wendy's and it's 93 degrees in Seattle…
  • Hi! My name is Maria also. :) I just can't seem to get my act together this time around. I still have the "baby" weight but my baby is 5 years old. I find I really hate weighing, measuring, and tracking my food. I just want to be able to eat. But obviously that's not getting me where I want to be. I would say I'm new to…
  • As a mom, when I'm introducing new foods to my kids at first I only ask them to lick it and see what that tastes like. The next step is to take one bite and describe how it tastes (sweet, sour, bitter, salty) and if it is crunchy, chewy, ect... This makes the new food more "normal" to them and makes them more willing to…
  • If you keep in mind that food companies and restaurants are "for profit" companies it makes sense that they want you to eat and buy as much of their product as possible.
  • I've got the City Classic by Baby Jogger (double) and I love it! I agree that CL is a good place to look and you can also check out AlbeeBaby.com. Sometimes they will have last seasons items at discounted prices (that's how I got my stroller) and I'm pretty sure they always have free shipping on orders over $100.
  • I would guess it is the scale. Have your weighed yourself twice or three times right in a row to see if you get the same weight every time? When I bought a scale last year lots of online reviews said they would get different weights immediately on some scales. Or maybe it's just a low battery?
  • Love it! You're totally right! On days I exercise I usually burn around 300 calories which are then added to my food calories. I don't think it hurts to have an extra 200 or so calories uneaten on those days, especially since I have my weight loss set to one pound per week.
  • I always have at least one day a week (sometimes two) that I eat over my allotted calories. I guessed I was helping keep my metabolism up and it's cool to hear Dr. Oz say so! I also do it to have a rest from the constant thinking and planning that go into getting the right amount of calories (and sometimes just…
  • If you have the space for a second freezer, buying 1/4 or a 1/2 of beef is a great and economical way to eat significantly healthier (grass fed and humanely raised) meat. I found my beef on craigslist (search for "beef" under the farm and garden category). I've been able to tour the farm, talk with the farmer, and see the…
  • After my first daughter was born it took me 18 months to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I did pilates to help my stomache and it came back just fine. After my second daughter was born (2 1/2 years ago) my stomache was much worse and that made my back hurt. I'm still 13 pounds away from my pre-baby weight but getting…
