Feel free to add me if you'd like. I think the support in this community is a key aspect of being successful

I have a wife and four kids. I exercise before work because it's the only time of the day I can get into a routine and know that there won't be any conflicts. Well, usually not, can't even claim that that's true 100% of the time, but pretty close. So I'm up between 5 and 5:30 every morning.

I'm running my 8th marathon in 2 1/2 weeks, then a half marathon three weeks after that. Feel free to add me. I will echo the comment that it is hard to lose weight while running long distances, you need a lot of energy for those long weekend runs, so it's tough to maintain a calorie deficit. But, you should be able to…

Not before starting on MFP, but years back before I started to train for my first marathon I went to the doctor, told him what I was thinking, and had a full physical to make sure I wasn't going to kill myself

All the time. But don't worry, because everyone else in the race will be doing the same thing.

Yes, as long as the posts are reasonable questions.

No, absolutely not

In my experience, some women handle it well and don't let it interfere with business, and that's not a problem. With others, the crying stops everyone from doing their job. For example, I worked with a woman who would excuse herself from a meeting, go to the restroom (I assume) until she was composed and ready to resume.…

First, I don't call it cheating. There are days that are more successful than others, sometimes by choice, sometimes by circumstance. But this is not a temporary diet, it is a lifestyle. Second, I don't ever plan for them. They happen frequently enough all by themselves. Either from holidays, family events, work events,…

There's plenty of us, although I would agree we are a minority.

If it works, then it's not obsessive, it's being thorough and diligent. While I'm the only one in my house using MFP, my wife and kids are supportive of my constant weighing and measuring and logging. They know I'm doing this for my own benefit, and they've seen the results. I don't see how you logging every little thing…

I do. I ride to work once or twice a week, and really worry about injuries if I get hit by a driver not paying attention. I see no reason to not wear a helmet. What's the benefit of not wearing one?

I think it depends on your outlook on things. Some people find it helps to make them feel accountable to someone else. Personally I don't find any motivation in needing to meet the expectations of someone who I am paying to set those expectations. If you've been trained on proper form, and you have a plan, I don't see much…

Welcome, and good luck. I've found this site to be a fantastic tool.

1. Have fun. Enjoy the sights and sounds and people around you. 2. Don't do anything you haven't done during training. This is not the time to try new foods, new clothes or new routines 3. Get there early. Traffic around races can be unpredictable, and it's much better to be sitting around waiting and just enjoying the…

Oranges aren't bad. Not as food as bananas, but still pretty good.

I have had a couple of bad calf injuries, and you really just need to wait for it to get better. I had one doctor advise me to wait for it to feel 100% better and then wait one more week. I agree with the comment about shoes, make sure yours don't need to be replaced. I replace mine every 500 miles, give or take, and if I…

I get up early and make sure I'm done before the kids need to leave for school (mine are older now, need less attention) Eventually you find that you have more energy and getting up early is not a big deal. I have also recently started to bike to work a couple of times per week (depending on the weather and kids' needs…

Best of luck to you, too

Congratulations, you should be proud of yourself!

Don't give up, stay focused. I'm sure everyone has had a similar slump, several times over. Sometimes you just need a mental break from tracking and measuring everything. Set a shorter term goal, and focus on that instead of the big picture.
-
That is excellent progress. Changing your mindset is one of the hardest things to do

Feel free to take a look

Come on, look at the websites that come up when you do that search. Nothing remotely resembling any respectable medical source. Go to a medical website, mayo clinic for example, and do the same search and you don't find all that nonsense.

Leave a hand written ransom note, stating that if demands aren't met you will mail her the plates one piece at a time

Good for you, congratulations on all of your hard work!

Fantastic! Congratulations

Run your loop, do what's best for you, who cares what the neighbors think.

I agree with the general message, less sodium and more water. Some of the food items, breakfast sausages and biscuits have way too much sodium to be part of an everyday diet.
