Thank you ALL for your suggestions. Here's my plan. #1 Weigh every day, same as always. #2 Own it going up, knowing that I'm doing all the right things nutrition and calorie and exercise wise AND it's just temporary. #3 Shrug it off and keep doing what I'm doing. #4 Own it going down, knowing that I've earned every…

Oh, yes, it is definitely happening to me... I stayed under calories yesterday and am up 5 pounds in ONE DAY today. That has never happened before from first thing in the morning to first thing in the morning.

I have lost 88 and have another 190 or so to lose. Feel free to add me if you like. However, be forewarned that I have a warped sense of humor.

While we have NOTHING against anyone who loves these muffins, neither my wife nor I can recommend them. The ingredients are VERY expensive and we were ummm... not impressed with either the taste (sawdust) or texture (lumpy sawdust). However, we fully recognize and understand that YOU may love them.

WARNING - My wife is making these muffins right now (they're in the oven). However, she was suspicious about the stated amount of calories and such in the muffins. So she ran it through the MFP recipe builder. According to her numbers, the muffins are 2079 calories for the batch, and 231 each (based on the 9 muffins she…

Whoa... we get to change names as we age? Excellent!

I'm down 88 pounds in 5 months and will lose another 100+ pounds this year (at 2 per week). I'm here for the long haul and VERY motivated. Let me know if I can help. Friend me if you like. Scott R. in Houston, Tx.

Whoa... steel cut oats are processed and not clean? I had no idea.

That's the way they do it at my favorite chinese restaurant, "Wok you dog."

I'm down 88 in a little more than 5 months. I am already motivated to keep plowing into the New Year, but your post totally reinvigorated me. Thank you!

I don't write for the glory. I do it to put smiles on the faces of the people who are helping me to do that which I thought myself unable to do. Also, to plant the seeds of ideas so that they germinate into full blown consideration shown to one and all.

I grew up VERY poor in a federally funded housing project. I am VERY empathetic toward folks' economic struggles. That said, everyone has SOME service or labor or talent or product that they can barter for an hour of a trainer's time. And as for the doctor, which is more expensive... the tests that COULD be done via…

But if the total calories per jar includes the juice, then I would be way overestimating the calories and the sodium in the actual pickle chips themselves.

Makes perfect sense. When we eat a lot, blood goes from our extremities (like our brain) to our stomachs to aid in digestion. Hence, the after big meal sleepies.

I agree with everyone else that one binge is not the end of the world. Bite it, write it, and forget it. Except for one thing. If you really, really think about it, you can probably figure out WHY you binged and how to avoid it in the future. I am speaking as a man who weighed 478 pounds on July 26, 2012, got serious about…

Wanted to lose 84 pounds from July 26th of this year until the end of 2012 (average of 4 pounds per week). Have accomplished that with 2 weeks to spare. Intend to lose 150 pounds in 2013 (average of 3 pounds per week). Will include lifting weights once my weight drops below 350, and continue adhering to MFP.

Lemon juice, red pepper flake and mashed avocado.

I just dropped out of the 4's into the 3's. I'd suggest you keep on keepin' on, because I intend to be nipping at your heels in about 10 months when *I* drop out of the 3's after a high of 478.

Orange Julius and peppermint schnapps.

I am so very sorry for your loss. In 1973, at the age of 12, I got a dog. She stayed with me from adolescence, through young adulthood, high school, college, law school, meeting my wife, to me becoming a married man and attorney. When she finally died in 1990, I was so grief stricken that I stayed home from work for 3 days…

Oh yeah, one other reason. From December 1st to December 4th, for no apparent reason, I dropped 6 pounds after nothing for about 18 days. Go figure!!!

Ungrateful and selfish national debt builders.

I started at the end of July at 478 pounds. I am now at 406, down 72 pounds in 4 months. Please tell me what I can do to help you. This isn't magic. This isn't secrets. It's hard work but it's very definitely worth it. If you reach out to me, I will share anything and everything that has helped me so far. We both have a…

If I knew you better, I'd have said, "How'd you know I just gave her the tip?" But since I don't know you well, I won't say that. ;-)

168 calories left as of 8:06 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. Enjoyed a VERY satisfying and filling Thanksgiving dinner (my diary is open in case you're curious). Do not intend to eat for the rest of tonight. Why keep track on Thanksgiving? Why stay under calories on Thanksgiving? Simple. Because it is the single biggest eating…

Outstanding. Thank you for this!

That is another great way to deal with the situation. I didn't mean to imply that there was only one option when one is "out of calories." However, it seems from reading the boards that some people are bound and determined to find ways to "wire around" eating within their calories rather than simply accepting the fact of…
