Never. Give. Up.

This morning's run was a very therapeutic one for me. Which is exactly what I needed and exactly why I love my early morning runs. I've fallen off track a little (nutrition-wise) lately so I had some changing and thinking to do.
I run with the Nike+ app and if you use it you know that it gives you your time for every mile. My first mile is coming up and I'm expecting a slow time because I just felt I was going slow. Which I was ok with this morning. I was clearing my head. Low and behold, my mile time was about 30 seconds faster than my "normal" mile time. Yay me! So that got me pumped up and got my brain working harder.
Then I got to thinking about where I was one year ago. At that time I could only run (sometimes only every other day). I tried adding in other exercise, but MY MIND just didn't think I could. I'm quite sure my body was very capable of it, my mind just wasn't ready. And here I am a year later: running, starting strength training, taking fighter fitness, and getting some elliptical time in before each class. Putting stuff like this in writing helps me to realize how far I've come, what I've accomplished and why this "journey" is totally worth all of the hard work, blood, sweat and yes some tears.
The moral of this story my friends is: Never give up.
