If you had took it upon yourself to go to her and try to get her to lose the weight... that would be bribery. But because SHE came to you, it's an incentive! I have my own incentives. I knew this would require hard work and a lot of dedication. I figure by rewarding myself every 25 lbs, it'll help make it a little easier.…

I honestly can't believe the first few replies! *shakes head* MFP even reminded me to update my profile after I lost 10 lbs.

I started January 1st with a short-term goal of 25 lbs in 12 weeks. I've only got one more pound to go, so I'm waaay ahead of schedule! When I hit that, I'll likely bump it up another 5 lbs. After my first 12 weeks is over, I plan on taking a week's break before starting back up with another 25 lbs in 12 weeks short-term…

Ohh! Is that Lambert's Cafe? As in home of the throwed roll?! I so fondly remember that place while traveling from Indiana to Texas and back!

Hey! I, too, am in Murfreesboro! Originally from a small town in Indiana, but have lived here for six years now!

Ditto. I'm pretty serious about losing weight. And I got a lot of it to lose! So I always double check the nutritional info before entering into my food diary. I've seen A LOT of inconsistencies compared to what my boxes say. If it's wrong, I take a picture of the label with my phone and edit it the next time I'm near my…

Without a doubt I'd say my FitBit and my Withings Scale. Fortunately I received my treadmill and digital food scale as gifts, but I couldn't do this without them either!!!

Ohh! I'm going to bump this because I, too, have been having issues with my current walking shoes. My feet kinda ache so I wanted to look into a good pair. Can't wait to see some suggestions!

I've had mine for two months now. It is pricey and basically a glorified pedometer... but it's the best $100 I've ever spent! In the last two months, I've lost 17 pounds using MFP and FitBit. When I first got it, I was averaging like 4,000 steps. But then I started getting into it and trying to best myself every day. And…

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Looks like I have quite a few to research this weekend!

I, too, have a desk job. And if I don't physically make myself get up every now and then, I find that more often than not... I spend eight hours sitting on my butt! Definitely not helpful when you're trying to lose weight! Do I think people should break out a full work out at work? Of course not, but every little bit of…

My story is similar. I hit 300 lbs in November and absolutely hated myself. I figured if I was every going to do anything about my weight... now was the time! I'm taking it 12 weeks and 25 lbs at a time. Good luck everyone!!!
