  • A link with info on tanning a snake hide. And what are you going to make me with this? http://crotalus.kittycrack.net/tanning.htm
  • I agree with the banana and wheat toast. I was hiking the Appalachian Tral a few years ago and we were burning 5000-6000 calories a day. Several of us were losing weight so fast that we start packing chocolate cake icing and peanut butter with us. We would stop on our breaks, fill one side of the spoon with cake icing and…
  • I wish there was a way to quanitify how much better someone feels as opposed to people looking at just weight loss. Most often people are gaining muscles that were under developed in addition to losing fat. Having been with it a year means that this is becoming a lifestyle for you.. not just a trend, which is great. I am…
  • I really think Ironman Lake Tahoe is going pretty incredible. I signed up for it yesterday. This will be my first full and my first trip to California.

  • I think it is awesome.... I also think people on here are over analyzing this. I have taken friends on trips just as friends have taken me on trips before. Vegas is a fun town.. I would much rather go to Vegas with a friend than do the local scene every weekend. Have fun and enjoy. Let us know how the training goes. If…
  • Car camping a coleman tent is fine.. Just check amazon and you get find several with great reviews. When you start looking at lightweight/backpacking tents is where the price starts to shoot up. About five years ago I decided to take a last minute trip with a few friends and on the way I remembered that my tent wasn't…
  • Horseshoe Bend AZ.. Spent two weeks at the Grand Canyon and did a few side trips to Antelope Canyons and Horseshoe Bend. What an amazing place.
  • I don't run I waddle.. but I am darn good at it.
  • Civil Engineer for the Park Service... Enjoying the wild outdoors.
  • Does a one legged duck swim in a circle? Heck yes they are...
  • Instead of focusing on losing weight I focus on feeling better. When I work out my energy level is so much higher and there is a night and day difference in how I feel. Honestly, I could care less if I lose weight... I just know I will. Here is my inspiration video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh1yMnrby3w
  • Awesome. Have another race planned? The 5K time is pretty darn impressive I have to say.
  • The Climb - Miley Cyrus
  • I think the main thing is to take it easy on the inclines. When you get out of breath rest for a minute, get your heart rate down, and then go again. If you try to hike fast or stay with the pack even when you are out of breath you are only going to make it worse. Some things you can do... work on your leg strength. Do…
  • 200 miles this year... that is awesome. yeah Virginia is alot tougher than most people realize. There are some great sections of the AT in Virginia though. When are you heading back?
  • Someone that is respectful of others. Someone that would rather be out doing something than laying on the couch. Someone that can laugh at theirself and enjoys life. Someone that cares enough about their health that they want to take care of theirself. Someone that doesn't have a foul mouth and doesn't call other people…
  • BYOB Takes some of the liability out of it as well.
  • Very doable. Do you what IM race you want to do? Many are in the fall (easier to train for in many places around the country). If a fall race I would add another HIM and Oly in there.
  • I will be out that way in early June as well. I am mainly going to ride the Ocoee and do some mtn biking nearby though. Good luck with your trip in early June. How many miles are you wanting to log this year?
  • This just gave me a great idea. I have a running friend that just barely beats me in our 5k races. I think I am going to have one of these sent to him the week before our next race. If they have nutrition labels let me know which one has the most calories. lol
  • 1. Start slow and be patient. Do not worry about pace, distance, etc. 2. Buy a heart rate monitor. 180 minus your age is where you want to train. (180-24 = 156 bpm). So stay in the range of 146-156. That may mean running for 3 minutes and then walking for 30-45 and then running again. Slowly warmup and slowly cool down. If…
  • Smoking..
  • I can't say I have done alot of stupid things.. but I am always open for some kind of adventure. I think more old people regret things they didn't do than they regret things they did do. Again.. I don't mean anything unhealthy like drugs, etc... HTFU
  • Heading camping. This state park is supposed to have some great mountain biking trails and I know the local triathletes go there to do their swims so I am hoping to make it a good weekend of hiking, mtn biking, swimming, and running. Can't wait.
  • volleyknox. I use slowtwitch more than BT. I am on occasionally.
  • I am in this month. Swim 4 Miles Bike 15 Hours (Most is on an indoor trainer so easier for me to keep up with hours) Run 30 Miles I have been fighting a respiratory infection the last two weeks so my training the last 2 weeks has been minimal. We will see what I can make up. Current: Swim 1.82 Miles Bike 5 Hours Run 13.93…
  • My sister asked me if I wanted a kindle for Chistmas two years ago and I said no way. I was stuck on a detail with work for a couple of months and decided to try the Kindle. I LOVE it. I have two bookshelves filled with books and was running out of room. About once a week I visit www.ereaderiq.com an browse their free…
