I have to take it day by day. About 6 months in, I thought about setting goals with dates and asked for guidance and someone very wise reminded me that it was a choice and not necessarily something I HAD to do. I am glad I listened. Every time I set one, I don't meet it in the time frame I allow myself and I am…

Terrific salad I had last night for dinner was easy and about 400 calories: 2-3 cups baby spinach 1 ounce reduced fat feta 2 tblsp litehouse balsamic viniagrette 2 slices center cut bacon, ground into bacon bits 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms By easy, I mean you can easily have all the stuff ready to go :)

Hiya =D - I had a lot of weight to lose when I started also and would love to have you as mfp :)

Bump - totally trying this! thanks :)

15 or 10 or even 5 pounds in a month are all good losses. This is going to take a while and it has been my experience that I often will drop at particular times of the month even though my exercise/diet are essentially consistent. Think in terms of longer goals and don't get freaked out by a temporary stall in the process.…

I freeze all the time but I love my new shadow!!!

Nope, I enjoy it too. This whole process and now improving my cardiovascular health and watching the numbers improve, heart rate drop, etc is fun as well. Now, I would never want to go back to start this all over again but the journey, yes I said it, has been one that I have enjoyed.

You look terrific!! Yay to getting it right in your 30's ;)

Yep, C25K is the program recommended to me and helped me to run 5k without stopping! I am still pretty slow but I can run all three miles of it without stopping =D

Im totally requesting this for my birthday! Thanks for sharing =D

a lot of good points here that I don't want to repeat. As far as expense for one, I have a low $ one and a high $ one that syncs with my pc so I can assess graphs, charts and such. I would start with the low $ one but with a chest strap - mine was less than $50 at walmart with chest strap. Although I do love my polar ft80,…

Yep - 350 to start - almost ONEderland now ;) . You can sooooo do this!

Incredible!!! What an amazing transformation =D

You absolutely won the race, the most important one!

I am sorry for your sadness :(. Sometimes people just need time to grieve what they feel like they are losing before they can embrace what they have. Sad but true. Just keep being who you are and hopefully, she will learn to see that nothing about who you truly are is defined by who you love.

Simply amazing :)

I may have just found our dessert for Christmas - thanks for sharing!!

Great positive response! And for the person laughing at them standing around looking clueless, why don't you ask if you can help them?

I agree with the "how I look naked" comment. My goal is about body fat percentage and not weight. I also want to build more muscle and truthfully have no idea how a number on the scale will look when I reach my goal.

Outstanding!!!
-
Yep, you are pretty awesome!! So true as well - only you can improve your health

I listen to my body. If I am starving, I try to stick with nutritious foods to eat back but if I am not hungry, I don't. I do find though that too many days in a row of a high deficit leaves me really hungry so I anticipate that and eat more earlier in the day of nutrient dense foods.

We have done this and it works remarkably well :). I use the powdered flavorings and crushed red pepper

I have lost 140 pounds over the past 13 months and I exercise strenuously most days of the week. My skin will start to look loose, when the scale is going to drop a few and then it will tighten back up. Of course, I embrace the idea of having lots of loose skin if I am healthy BUT I don't plan on keeping it around. As soon…

Halibut definitely!

Flipping fantastic =D I often don't recognize my own reflection now lol

yep, yep, going to try this one! Thanks :)

The experts cannot agree because the one thing that research HAS proven is that there isn't a one size fits all when it comes to weight loss. I appreciate sharing what my friends are doing that works and have adapted my process accordingly with things that I tried that worked for me.

You look fantastic and congratulations on figuring this out ;). Different things work for different people for sure, it just takes perseverance to find your right combination. And how did you manage to look so much younger in your after pic? Simply beautiful.
