  • Wagged my tail every day but Sunday. I was without internet access for a few days.
  • My initial goal is 140 pounds and I weigh 194 now, so 54 pounds to lose. That is to get to the top of my healthy range of 129-140.
  • Hadn't been connected to the internet much the past few days, but I exercise every day but Sunday. So...I wagged my tail 5/2 and 5/3/2016.
  • That's okay. Last week is the PAST! This week is what we can control and we PUSH forward to have a great week. Hang in there everyone!!!!
  • Dropped from 197.6 to 195.6, so 2 pounds lost this week. I had hoped for a little more, so am going to see if moving calories back to breakfast makes any difference.
  • The Friday weigh-in helps so much with accountability. I just changed my snack tonight because I have to report tomorrow!!!! ;-)
  • There are some good-tasting protein shakes out there. Just have to check out the options and read those labels.
  • Have done 12-16 cups every day
  • I hope this pulls in okay. If not, I will type it in: myfitnesspal.com/food/diary?date=2016-04-27
  • Its all about the "why". When people have a reason that makes everything else a lower priority, they will look for something that works for them and won't stop until they find it. All you can do is try something - if it works for you, then others will want to try. You may gain a few along your journey.
  • Great discussion! The word "diet" became the D word long ago, so there are some who are vehemently opposed to its use when discussing a lifestyle of eating. Whichever term is used, it truly is confusing unless you are fortunate to locate an authoritative source. My favorite book on food consumption is "What the Bible Says…
  • It is curious to me why Paleo seems to be essentially the same as Ketogenic and similar to Clean Eating. Can someone with good knowledge of these three explain the differences, please?
  • It may help to determine your basal metabolic rate (BMR), which you can do at Calculator.Net. That is the amount of calories for you to maintain daily living, based on your answers.
  • Just starting this today, but I have been drinking 12-16 glasses daily (3-4 quarts) per day for about a month. I do 8 for maintenance and add 4 ounces for every 15 minutes of hard exercise and also add during allergy season for survival! LOL.
  • Be sure you drink enough water. It takes fluid in to process fluid out. Watch hidden sodium in your food choices. I gained 3 pounds last week over a 2-day period when I started working out harder. Although it seems like all the sweating I did should have reflected in a weight loss, I am pretty sure the culprit was not…

  • April goals:* go to the gym 5 days per week * 5-7 strength/toning workouts per week * 1 core/balance workout per week * 5-6 cardio workouts per week As you can see, I have some aggressive goals right now. This is to kick my metabolism into high gear and burn some major calories this month. In the next few weeks I will be…
  • I eat every 2.5-3 hours except between breakfast and lunch because that is my busiest/workout time and usually don't get hungry until lunchtime. For a couple of weeks last month, I was eating the King breakfast, but ended up too hungry at the evening snack time (2-3 hours before bed), so I switched it up and have a pauper…
  • I'm Rhonda. Feel free to add me as well.

  • I have three wardrobes as we speak. The goal sizes and mid-point sizes are all at my home in another state, but I have here with me the exercise shirt I am wearing in my profile picture. The day of this picture, I weighed 179. That is 19 pounds down from where I am now and I want to get there BADDDDDDDD!!!!!! So that is my…
  • Vending machines are purveyors of puke. LOL. By this time, the baby is likely here. Congratulations and best wishes on the beginning of the best journey of your life. We adore our 9 grandbabies and wish we had more time with each of them.
  • We no longer buy any white/yellow potatoes. We use sweet potatoes baked and in soups/stews, we use unpeeled radishes. Don't laugh, they truly taste "almost" like potatoes once cooked! We even eat them as a side dish We use only brown rice and rarely. Otherwise, we like tilapia with lemon pepper or chili powder. Simple and…
  • I am absolutely terrible at telling jokes, but I greatly appreciate good humor. I will do my best to share on occasion.
  • Rest and worship. I work out and hit it hard Monday through Saturday. Sunday is recovery for mind, body, and spirit.
  • The first time I needed to lose was at 29 and I weighed a whopping 148 pounds. I lost the 20 very quickly and stayed with it for quite a while. Once I stopped attending the meetings as an employee/lifetime member, I began gaining it back a little at a time until I hit the magic 218. I lost 38 pounds, then gained it back…
  • Yesterday (Friday 23rd) weighed 197. That is 2 pounds down from last week. I had dropped to 195 and my body freaked when I added intense exercise without adding protein, so I hope to see a better number than 195 next Friday. Also, I lost 5 1/8" inches total in the past 30 days. We may want to track inches lost also, as…
  • Greek yogurt can be made at home in a crock pot - if I can do it, anyone can! Also, Chobani is sometimes on sale for 50% off at our local grocer - that is when we buy it - and always the Simply 100 to keep the calories and sugar in check. Also, the three of us in our home are all on a primarily clean eating plan…
  • Love this group already by just reading your intros. I am Rhonda, age 54, 5'5" and 198 pounds. I already lost 23 and have another 59-70 to go, depending on where I feel the best. My range is 129-140 pounds for my small frame. The last time I was at 129 was 25 years ago, so not sure that is where I will end up at this age.…
  • Lisa, you can do this!!!! You know what you are facing, you set a reasonable goal for 6-7 weeks and we are here to support you. What type of exercises can you do with the knee situation? Anecdote for encouragement - I am currently taking care of my mother-in-law (age 74) who has had two cancer surgeries in 2016 (Jan, Mar).…
  • New to the group and was also having a tough time with the last snack of the day. I have 3 meals and 2 snacks routinely. I found that if I stick with my plan during the day and add veggies to address hunger and drink at least half my daily water the last half of the day it helps. Also, be sure your last snack is…
