When I was little I was the chubby one and my sister would call me fat! It was extremely detremental to me and has caused some issues for me. To be honest it took me a long time to get where I am now and the motivation to do something came from within. I started really working out in college and getting in shape, then I…

I lost 3 pounds my first week (alot for me in a week) and kept it off - I was skeptical. Now it has slowed and I plateau. I am currently in one. What might have happened is you are more aware of what you are eating now and measuring more precise. Cutting back just slightly on the calories can make a big difference. Have…

I eat alot of fruit to fill my snack - it can be more expensive but I like to buy pre cut apple slices and grapes, string cheese, canned pineapple in juice only (no syrup) whole almonds, baby carrots and celery with peanut butter. I eat lots of chicken, fish and veggies for dinner. I use to be picky but started trying new…

I am really really strict with myself about the scale. If I weigh in everyday then I become way to obsessed. It took me forever (literally) before I could do this but I weigh in once a week and it is every Thursday morning. Not sure why but that is the day I chose. The scale stays in my bathroom at all times staring at me…

I would say this, keep up the good work. You are doing really well and their are really so mnay things that can impact your weight. For starters water weight is big. Always weigh first thing in the morning after you use the bathroom. Stress can cause weight gain (I have this issue) and even not eating enough cals can cause…

OMG! Pass the crack is right... I dont have kids but I have neices and nephews and they alll hated school at first. Try to relax, remember that yoru daughter will sense the tension in the house about school and hate it even more. Welcome!!! I love this site, it has really helped me out. Just track EVERYTHING and be honest with yoruself. I used to get mad at myself when I went over a little but really its okay to slip up once in a while. You still have to live. Soon you will find balance and realize what you can still eat and what treats are okay.…

I typically eat almost all of my calories, sometimes exact. Of course if I work out I get hte extra cals for a dessert or extra treat which I love. Its motivation for me to have a healthy brownie (I bake alot) or if I make angel food cake and strawberries I get to eat it knowing that I worked hard. Thats my favorite part!!…

I agree that you should see what they give you if you put in active lifestyle and then go back to sendentary and subtract the calories. Create yoru own exercise using that amount of calories for a full work day. Remember, if you calculate for too much exercise that is not good either. In this case you will be over…

I think you need to count calories to learn how many calories you are really consuming and it also calculates fat etc. We need to learn what is right and all calories are NOT created equal, some contain more fat or more protein. Counting calories clearly helps all of us as well. I almost would like to read this and write…

This is very inspirational and I am so happy for everyone that has found their "I didn't knows" I didnt know: 1. that I would look so forward to bootcamp twice a week and be depressed when I didnt go 2. that my husband would notice my weight loss after only 7 lbs. 3. that working out each morning would actually give me…

If you love swimming then I saw keep doing it, but maybe only twice a week. Then add in walking twice a week with a little light weight usage on other days. I would say at least 30 minutes a day. Also remember that things like gardening count as exercise. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 cups a day and do not forget that…

Definatly listen to your Dr. in this case. Sodium can cause water retention and higher blood pressure but since your blood pressure is so low you need the sodium. Just drink alot of water to help drain the extra bloat in your body. I am losing slowly too but I am happy losing what I am losing, plus if youa r building…

When I met my husband I was 27lbs heavier then I am now and wore a size 10. That 27lbs was carried in my belly mostly, some in my boobs and butt but mostly the belly. He fell in love with me then and loved me for who I was. Of course I know he loves the way I look more now then before, I know that he will love me even if I…

For starters, congrats on losing 3 pounds this week, you should be very proud of yourself. You have every right to eat and enjoy your kid free weekend, just remember to do it in moderation. When you go to the wedding dance alot, that burns tons of calories. Taste the good stuff they have to offer and enjoy it, dont overdo…

I was at the same point you are a few weeks ago. I couldnt get the last 10 pounds to budge. I started eating a little differently - more salads with chicken or fish for protein and added more fruits and veggies to my diet, especially as snacks. I also make srue most of my dinner is protein and veggies. I actually enjoy…

Its a love / hate relationship. Mirrors are my frienemy, hahah! Somedays I like them and other days I want to smash them. But in reality if I dont look in the mirror then I wont know the truth. I do the belly thing to. It motivates me to do extra crunches at night when I am watching tv. Its like a rewarding punishment....…

I use to not enjoy water but am now addicted, it is pretty much all I drink. I started by keeping a bottle of water on my desk like Aquafina. I have free water at work that I can refill my bottle with. I count my bottles, so i try to drink 3 to 4 bottles a day at work. I have 1 after my workout and at home I drink water…
