What kind of doctor would I see for this?

I'm using a GymSheep Squat Bar Pad (this one- https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Lifting-Shoulder-Protection-Standard/dp/B01MY2EBOX). It's frustrating. I feel the twinge whether it's 135 or 255. And it doesn't hurt... that's why it didn't concern me until I put two and two together. I hate to ditch a really useful exercise but…

OK… Truth be told I am a terrible logger and if I had to guess, I’d guess that overtime, I’ve probably been in more of a surplus since I started the program. It’s only been in the last couple months I’ve made an effort to start leaning out (with a break over Christmas that set me back). But yes, it could be more that I’m…

I DID want to bulk, but I don’t think it’s a good time to do it. My baby is up a lot at night and I am not getting much sleep at this point in my life. So I’m already fighting the urge to overeat during the day (because I’m tired) and sometimes I’m fatigued for my workouts. SO I think I’m probably in the recomp camp at…

@rodsteph777 Sure! Dumbbells: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Yes4All-Cast-Iron-Adjustable-Dumbbell-105lbs/119294742 Bands: https://www.amazon.com/Fit-Simplify-Resistance-Exercise-Instruction/dp/B01AVDVHTI

Ok you must be talking about the Bodyweight program. I started with “Bootyful Beginnings” and moved onto “Gluteal Goddess” doing both at home with my dumbbells. So if you’re able to get some dumbbells, you could too. For the bodyweight version, you don’t technically need weights. But I know for me that I have seen the best…

I’m doing the strong curves program at home and so did @sardelsa. She has more equipment than I do and has been doing Bret Contreras programming much longer than I have but her results are phenomenal. I just have a pair of adjustable dumbbells (up to 50 pounds each), Swiss ball, dining room chair, some cheap resistance…

I concur. Ditch him yesterday.

Thanks guys! I’m working toward my goal of ten and last night I did eight! But I can’t seem to stop involuntarily crunching my knees up toward my chest on my last couple reps. Based on what you’ve all said- I won’t worry about it too much- it’s not like I’m in a competition or anything! I’m sure I will be able to control…

Ummm wow! Amazing! I love @sardelsa’s advice (since gaining muscle I can eat more and still look lean) but you look INCREDIBLE. Not “for being 53”... just plain incredible.

I’m doing it right now! Feel free to add me! First phase took a loooong time (I started it near the end of my pregnancy and then took some time off) but now I’m trucking through Gluteal Goddess :D. I am working out from home with the bare minimum of equipment and I’ve still been blown away by the results. Going to add new…

Can you workout at home? Would that save time driving to the gym? I do a different (longer) program now, but for a year I did the “ideal fit 15 day challenge YouTube” workouts and saw great results. They’re about 20 minutes each or less. Personally, if I can get my workout done in the morning, my whole day goes so much…

I have a: -set of adjustable dumbbells (up to 50 lb ea) -mat -set of bands -pull up bar -Swiss ball -flight of stairs (haha- it’s a basement) And with this, I am able to get in a really good hard workout for not a lot of money. Currently doing Strong Curves (alternating with Bodyrock workouts). I do want more equipment,…

@Speziface Incredible!

Yes, I am! I really appreciate everyone chiming in! I didn't realize I could be doing it better. @sardelsa I will probably follow your suggestion to cut the ab/core stuff at the end. I sometimes feel pressure to follow things like this to the letter but I am indeed pressed for time since I workout at home during kids' nap…

I have tried to be "fit and healthy" by only eating "clean foods." (Paleo) Then, inevitably, I eat a cookie, or a piece of pizza, whatever... Then suddenly I've "fallen off the wagon" and the "diet" goes out the window and I'm eating all the things I've forbidden myself and I'm thinking, this is it, I'm a failure and I'm…

Well, if the workout already takes me 45 minutes, gosh it's going to take FOREVER if I rest that long! Thank you for clarifying though!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I did read the book :/ I don't remember that being in there!

My first pregnancy, I had nothing to do but take care of myself so I didn't gain too much weight and my body bounced back fairly fast because it was my first. With my next two pregnancies, I was very busy with little kids and used it as an excuse to eat too much. It took a long time for me to lose the weight after them,…

Sometimes the right food can truly help. I know that's going against the grain here, but it can. For example, the other day was extremely stressful (dog running away for a couple hours, neighbor screaming at me, animal control showing up). By the time I got my kiddos down for the afternoon, my heart rate had been elevated…

I can easily undo a week's hard work in a weekend. Thankfully, enough times of doing that has made me wiser and less likely over time to keep it up. Basically, don't take the weekends off logging. Track everything you eat. Over time, I believe it's harder to go crazy. I try to eat breakfast as late as possible. And still…

Sugar free foods! OMG. Mrs. Butterworth's sugar free syrup. Swiss Miss light. Splenda in a smoothie.

See if your doctor can give you a ballpark calorie figure to try to stick to. Track your calories and eat lots of protein. And walk as much as you can! I just finished up my fourth pregnancy and stayed more fit than in my previous pregnancies, thanks to staying active and tracking calories. I'm so happy for you that you're…

I think it's awesome that you posted that. <3 I went way over today, too. Woot woot for nice round numbers! My volume eating is taking a hit; we welcomed baby #4 almost 4 weeks ago and I have not had time to make myself salads, omelettes, stir frys, or soups lately (all my volume standbys)). Just seriously, no time at all.…

I can so relate. A couple thoughts: 1. 1200 calories is so low. I don't think people are meant to live on that for a long time. For many people, when the calorie goal is too low, binging results. Better to set a higher, more reasonable goal. 2. Get bingey foods out of the house. I personally can't regulate sugary "healthy"…

I can't ever lose the last 8 pounds until I wean (then I'm fairly lean). Breastfeeding makes me not "normal." It's like my body wants to hang onto fat as insurance for baby.

I've done a Transformer Dietbet after each of my pregnancies, to lose the baby weight. It's definitely not a scam. I've also done Kickstarter Dietbets. You make way more money in the Transformers, though. The Kickstarters are just basically going to win you your money back plus maybe $10. (Except for one I did and won…

Well, maybe I'll try fiber one or something. 60 cal per serving vs 120 cal for a serving (when I don't really have a problem getting my protein requirement in every day) sounds a lot better.
-
I'll give you that. When I visited NYC I wouldn't have described the food as "economical eats"...
-
Well you can pretty much buy any other food you darn well please there! This is literally like the only time in my life I'll probably ever have access to a food you can't get in New York City! ;)
