I'm fat for a few reasons: 1) I quit smoking. 2) I got comfortable with my boyfriend who is now my husband. 3) Once I was out of college, I didn't walk everywhere or go dancing 3-4 nights a week. I went to work, and had a bag of Mini Reese's Cups stocked in my drawer at all times. 4) I wore a uniform to work, so I didn't…

Spiders, and some bugs, if they are in the house. I can handle bugs outside (except spiders) but I hate hate hate bugs in the house. How did they get there? *shudders* Also, I am afraid of the dark, but only certain kinds of dark. I don't mind the dark in my house (except the bathroom), mostly because I live in a really…

Mine is me crossing the finish line at the Soldier Field 10 Miler in Chicago. At the time, it was the longest race I had ever done. I was so proud to have accomplished it!

At work I have been known to say "You've got to be f***ing kidding me." Which isn't too bad, but I say it under my breath, and one day the HR girl who sits in front of me said, "If I had a nickel for every time you said that, I'd be rich" Haha! I'm not too much of a potty mouth at work, but get me on a bad day on the…

It does, but do you count every little thing you do, cleaning, walking to work, etc? If so, add it, if not, I wouldn't. If you and your SO have s*x a few times a week and it's pretty regular, then I wouldn't include it. But if you don't have s*x very often, or it was a particularly energetic session, then count it!…

It sounds like strength training, if you are doing sit-ups and planks, etc. Is there any cardio involved? Or is it all just static exercises? If there is cardio, you could log it under circuit training, but if you are just doing a series of sit-ups, pushups, planks, etc, then I would log it as Strength Training.

I do every week except TOM week. Because TOM week I usually weigh 3-4 lbs heavy and that's discouraging, but if it's not TOM week and I weighed heavier, then I just have to suck it up and deal with it.

I'm in for the July 4th challenge! I didn't weight myself this morning, and my normal weigh date is Wednesday's, (and I'm not using last week's weight as it was TOM for me) so I will let you know then!

I'm in! I'm 5'10" 208 lbs. My friends all tell me I don't need to lose weight, but I just look at them and say I was 50 lbs lighter when they met me! And I hear you all on finding pants to fit. It's so hard to find pants that are long enough, but not huge in the waist!

I smell fruit when I buy it, if I don't smell anything, I don't buy it. Also oranges and grape fruits should feel heavy. And the thumping on melons technique sometimes works, sometimes not. Where do you buy your fruit? Is there somewhere else you can go? I go to one grocery store of almost everything, and another just for…

Weight loss is generally 80% diet and 20% exercise. So I say go for it! But be sure to eat clean and stay away from high processed foods and high sodium foods, both of these can ruin any diet plan. Fresh is better!

I also like to work out alone without my husband. Esp when I'm doing a video or something, I usually make him hide out in the office until I'm done, haha!

I would track by your sleeps, so if you get up and eat and work out and go to work then go to bed, that's one day. This will make the process much easier then trying to decide what you had after midnight, etc. I am up late on the weekends sometimes (usually out dancing) and I track that exercise as being from the day…

HAHA! I feel the same way! There's one in July in my area, but I'm not paying the expensive registration, the next closest one is in November brrrrr, too cold. My husband and I plan to try and go to Florida in November/December to visit my brother, and Tampa has one December 3rd and 4th. So that's the one I'm looking to…

I quit right before my wedding a year and a half ago. I had headaches, so I drank unsweetened iced tea to help curb those. Now I can go days and days without drinking any type of soda. Although I do drink one occasionally. We have free pop at work, so that's really really hard to turn down some days.

I'm doing the Warrior Dash in Channohan, IL. I'm not really training for the Warrior Dash either, I'm too busy training for the half marathon I'm running this Sunday! But, I figure that if I can run a 5k, than the Warrior Dash isn't that big of a deal, and really I'm not planning to make it a race, just going out and…

Yeah, the shower issue is why I joined a gym that was downtown near my work. Otherwise there would be no way I could ride my bike 10 miles to work, work 9 hours, and then ride 10 miles home without a shower!
-
I just started biking to work today. It will save me $86 a month for my train pass, but I had to get a gym membership downtown where I work, so it's kind of a wash. But since it takes me the same time to bike to work as it does to ride the train, it's worth it. I'm getting an extra two hours of exercise in everyday,…

Did you read the book? If not, buy it and do so. It's pretty amazing, and it teaches you the correct way to lift, different exercises to do and what you should be eating. http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting-Women-Goddess/dp/1583332944

It looks like I may not make my goal this week either. I hurt my knee, so I'm taking a break from working out so I can rest it. And.... I lost my job. As of September 30th, I will no longer be employed. I'm pretty devastated, so I'm sure my diet this week, will also not be great..... So frustrating.

Way to go everyone!

I had a bad week.... and went backwards. Weighed in at 200 again. I can't seem to get below 200 and stay below 200.... so discouraging. Here's looking to a GREAT week ahead. Great job ladies!

I did 1.4 on Saturday and 5.24 on Sunday for a new group total of: 482.69

I'm in Chicago, but originally from Ohio. I say homeboy and homegirl a lot. When I say it I generally mean some stranger/person I don't know. I.E. "Homeboy at the store just wouldn't take no for an answer." I don't know of any of my friends who say this, and I have no idea where it came from. I also say not at the end of…

I did 4.09 miles yesterday. New group total = 379.41

I had a really really bad week up until today. Today I did most of my catch up work. I did 250 crunches and 13 minutes of plank. Still not quite caught up, including tomorrow's stuff I still owe 170 crunches and 7 minutes of plank. But I feel proud of my self for getting almost caught up. Once I beast out tomorrow I will…

I also gained weight after quitting smoking. Just know that the weight gain DOES NOT offset the health effects of quitting smoking. It's way healthier to be a non-smoker and overweight than to be a smoker and thin. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Feel free to friend me if you want!

Good luck! I quit cold turkey in October 2008. Best decision of my life! I still get cravings, but when I gave in a few times, I took one puff and it tasted so disgusting I couldn't finish it. Now when I get cravings, I play solitare on my phone to take my mind off it. You can do it! You will be reaping the benifites of…

So are they saying that diet and excercise don't work for long term weight loss? Seems odd, I know lots of people who have dieted and excercised their way to long term weight loss. I think that this could be an important program, because the obesity epidemic in this country is out of control, but I definitely do not agree…
