Try to eat a high protein low carb diet. I don't eat carbs after 3pm. You need carbs but they can also keep the weight on you. Also protein is important as it helps build muscle.

No way! I was worried about that too but working with weights will burn off the fat. Add cardio too for faster weight loss. Don't go by the scale, go by the way your clothes fit. Once a week because your weight will flexuate daily so weigh in once a week the same day and time. If you do every day you may get discouraged.
