  • Have you considered doing a low carb way of eating? It has worked better for me than any other way of eating on the planet. Just a suggestion, you might check it out. I use to do crazy things when I was young to lose weight, and it only ended up making me gain in the end. I wish I knew then what I know now. By the way,…
  • ......I can't believe it's not butter!! lol couldn't resist I gave up margarine so many years ago, I don't think I could ever go there again =) I will say though, I love spinach in my omelets or scrambled eggs. I even put it in cauli fried rice at the end to just get some veggies in there. YUM
  • Hi Linda, hope you are staying warm up there in Ontario. I just found this group today, had no idea it existed, but I wanted to chime in as I saw you asking about diabetics. I was diagnosed type 2 about 20 years ago. I had been mostly lowcarbing for many years, then kind of not being as serious about it for a while. I did…
  • if you've dropped your calories to 1309, then I believe if you are still allowing yourself 40 net carbs a day, your macros are off, you need to drop the carbs and make sure your fats are higher than your protein intake. I found after losing quite a bit, I had to start looking at my calories, also, and now I'm working on…
  • He really is an X. Can't stand cowards! You deserve someone so much better than that clown.
  • my dd and her fiance are doing p90x about 3 mo. now and they have to take in extra protein, so maybe that's what's going on, maybe shortchanging yourself and it just hit you all at once. cook less, this was just a blip in the bigger scheme of things.
  • loving the psychedelic hamburger!
  • you just like your own cookin' too much, now knock it off! lol
  • hello? anyone posting in the lowcarb room anymore? the last few times there hasn't been much commotion in here. just wanted to ask if anyone has tried the atkins frozen meals? I never buy frozen meals but did pick up a couple of the atkins meals, was not impressed, I do better on my own. hope everyone is doing good and…
  • I couldn't agree more on 90% of what you said in your post. I'm also someone who would weigh100's more if I stuck to the ada recommendation of x number of carbs a day. I do best and feel best on 1/3 or less of the recommended amount of carbs. I've had a slippery slope the last couple of months after a robbery at my home,…
  • wouldn't it be great if our bodies would burn excess skin like it does excess fat.....
  • foomsy, fiber isn't automatically deducted from your carbs when you log your food, you can just do the math. I only track calories, carbs, fiber, protein and salt. since carbs and fiber are side by side, it's easy for me to just subtract out the fiber. not everyone on here does LC which is probably why they don't bother.…
  • wow...took a dose of dayquil today and just logged it. It has 19 grams of carbs in an adult dose!! over 90 calories.
  • That salmon and broccoli on the main page here looks so yummy!
  • Thanks Linda, I'm doubting I'm doing 10000 steps but I'm doing alot more than I use to. Exercise is not my favorite activity for the sake of exercise. I'm enjoying being out in the open air more though since I've lost some weight. I've been trying to get back into gardening--something I really loved but kinda gave up on…
  • I've been offline about 13 days now, I had company and since my pc is in my living room, didn't want to appear rude, I hate when people do that to me. Anyway got a big surprise, I lost some more weight when I wasn't looking. I think I plateaud for a couple mo. there and finally dropped another 8 lbs. I'm happy about that.…
  • that's why I stopped watching Dr. Oz. I need to learn all I can about how to live healthy with what I can grow and buy at the grocery store. I can't afford all those extra's that Dr. Oz wants people to take.
  • good job, hard work pays off!
  • If you find out, let me know, that's exactly my problem, too. I had 2 sisters that were pears, but not me, I am an apple on a stick.
  • Hi again, I'm sorry I'm such a bad poster, I have had some medical things going on the last several months and just intermittent tests and things going on, but I'm doing good at staying on track. I had a few minor slips recently that didn't affect my weight, thank goodness, Funny how once you are heavy, you are always…
  • welcome to the list Allie, You are one step ahead of the group having supportive family members also doing Atkins. Especially your husband, congratulations on your baby girl, also, and the first 43, way to go!
  • It always helps me to log my meals, keeps me honest with myself. I use to use dietwatch years ago when it was free. I think I like MFP better, although I only found this in January this year.
  • What you share online is a personal preference, and no one should be required to explain why they prefer to keep some things private. You leave yourself wide open for criticism about what type of diet, food choices, etc. That's not my cuppa.
  • Just checking in, it's been a week or so, I've been very busy with work and life. My youngest graduated college and then I had a sick day yesterday. Have stayed pretty much on track with my carbs, calories and exercise. I'm holding steady at 70 lbs lost since January 2, and had my followup appt with my dr for my labwork…
  • Pacific Northwest
  • good question. I have no idea what year it was, or what model it was, but it was an OLDS, an old OLDS.
  • Oh you really are showing the weight loss though, especially in your face, tummy and upper arms. Good job =)
  • You look wonderful, taller, too. Bet you are proud of yourself, and you should be =)
