  • Welcome. That seminar will be great information if it is like the one my doc had. Lots of info and answers to many questions I had. 10 months out from LapBand and so happy I did it. Good luck on your journey.

  • Can't say I know that feeling yet. Just trying to break that sugar habit now - so down the road I can say that. It is so hard to do this. Hope it gets better for you. G
  • Well one thing I really 'liked' was sitting in a chair and crossing my arms. They sat on my girls and I felt that position only emphasizes my weight. Not having a lap was also a biggie for me. I couldn't handle a plate and a glass of water unless there as a table nearby. Oh and trying to get out of car that was low to the…
  • Awesome!!!! Congrats. I am just 1.6 pounds from that club!
  • Right now not sure where my head is at. It has been a couple of rough weeks lately. I had the LapBand installed last year but for some reason I am trying to eat around it. Not sure what I am thinking. I know it will cause me problems but i keep on eating. It is a lot of bedtime snacking. Trying different things. Like…
  • Wow - it is like you are talking to me... I too have allowed some of my bad habits, and started a new habit - night snacking back into my life. I know that I am allowing stress and extreme tiredness to rule things. I don't know why I can't control it better... I too 'feel hungry'. Know it is alot of mental hunger... hence…
  • I wish my pouch\band would settle and let me eat a bit more solid foods rather than slider foods to keep up the protein and calories right now... But it is getting better and the scale is moving...
  • not quite into maintenance yet - but I will plan on being here everyday just like I have been the last 14 months. I know me - and if I don't log it and see the numbers I will start fudging and then it will go downhill from there - even tho' I have the LapBand...
  • When my dietician said for me to maintain the weight I was at 16mos ago - I was eating 5000 - 7000 calories a day. I poo'd - poo'd that Idea. Then I started using MFP and maintaining a 1200 cal day. For fun added up what I would have had before. Damn she was right. I was so astounded!!! I still get to eat what I want -…
  • Noting for review as I try to stay on track.
  • Just had another fill on Tuesday. This time it is tighter than ever - even tho' is the same amount they have been putting in since Oct. So I am going slowly. I try to get my protein in for sure and then worry about the calories. But if'n I eat carby things like the mashed potatoes - then my calories are higher...
  • Awesome and congratulations on your new lifestyle. Sounds like you are doing wonderful!!!
  • Hi Tracie and welcome. Congrats on your weight loss. I had lapband in June '12 and it also was the best decision I have ever made. Geri

  • I have lost 90lbs to date - and yes i have saggy skin. I am hoping that strength training and time will help tighten up the arms and the knees  . I know lots of MFP's that have had their excess skin removed...

  • 1. Date and the surgery you chose. -- -- June 28, 2012 - LapBand 2. How you are feeling about your choice - considering your choice & what you know now, do you think you would have picked another method (i.e. sleeve or dieting et al). - I did some research - had 5 friends who had either the band or GBP. I chose to have the…
  • Exactly why I have told only a small handful(can count them on two hands only  ). I have had comments made that diet and exercise is the ONLY way to lose weight. That 'those' who took the easy way out didn't count. I chose the LapBand because I have faught with my weight since almost birth. I have always been the…

  • Awesome - Congrats and let us know how you are doing. I know how that denial frustrates you. I was denied and then we submitted again and we thought it would take them a month or so to deny again - approved in less than 24 hours. Surgery 15 days later...

  • I had Lapband surgery and have been told NOT to drink with my meals. It is because if you drink liquids with your meal - it helps flush the food thru your system - therefore you do not feel full as long as if you didn't drink.
