  • You are very talented. Looks wonderful. And Happy 4th Anniversary...
  • Got dehydrated a week after surgery - spent the afternoon in the hospital ER. WAs NOT fun. and the followup for 2 more weeks was tough too. They were afraid my kidneys would not recover. Thankfully they did. I still struggle some days to get in the min 8 glasses. I work on it every day.
  • well I can't say these are 'newer' but I find them upbeat for me and keep me going. Juke Box Hero by Foreigner, Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leopard, Working in a Coal Mine, DEVO, Billy Ocean - Loverboy, Lucky Man and Caribbean Queen, Here comes the rain again - Eurythmics and the Sweet Dreams are made of this. And gotta…
  • congrats!!! WAy to go!
  • Awesome acheivement. So very happy for you...
  • Snoozie - thank you...your message here and your message to me this morning really made my day. My lantern is lit and ready to help show me the way... :flowerforyou: I do believe I am back on the path... But I do know that I will have you guys to help me back if I make a small detour... Geri
  • I have been on some type of diet since I was 12. Lost 90lbs on one program 7 yrs ago (not WW) and then added it back on - as it was restrictive and I never did really figure out how to eat properly after going off the restrictive part. I have been on MFP since Jan 2nd. I have lost 65lbs. I love love MFP...
  • You look awesome. Congratulations. Very well done.
  • I need someone to come haul my buns out of bed in the morning before work to walk. Or workout... It has just been so hard to get up that 45 mins early to work out. And then when I do get home - I must find time to fit in a walk or something... Glad you found a friend to walk with. That is awesome...
  • I have to agree with the others. Got my fitbit Feb 7th. And it has helped me move most every day since. I always try to walk, take the stairs, park further away from the store just to get steps. I too like the sleep feature. It can be revealing if you are wondering if you were restless during the night. Well worth the…
  • Journaling has never been my strong point. But I do agree - I can eat for ANY reason - bored \ sad \ happy - three that really trigger the eating. Since lapband surgery (6/28/12) I am quickly learning this is not good for my pouch. And it is an eyeopener for me to realize this. MFP has helped in that I am logging…
  • I just read that. Congratulations. I have almost lost 'the fats and oils an average American eats in a year '. Actually that isn't a nice picture - all that oil and fat... BTW - you are doing great.
  • Trust me - you can do this. and you will NOT be starving yourself. This phase is just a small part of the process. You will be eating a 'regular' diet soon - just better choices and quantities. Good luck. Which surgery are you having?
  • You do NOT want to become dehydrated - did that - The ER people are very nice!!! But seriously - I use the clock app on my phone and set it to 5 - 10 min intervals. I like you - forget and an hour will go by without a drink. So I have to have that little reminder. Docs PA even suggested that. Works for me. Good…
  • ^^ agree with all the above. ^^ I also bought a box (12 per) of appitizer spoons and forks. They may be small but they are very helpful. I just didn't want the multi colored baby utensils. They look just like regular spoons and forks. I also bought a couple of appitezer plates, bowls and cups. I use these to eat on. My…
  • Congratulations!!! You will do great!!! And as the others have said - stop the caffiene and fizzy drinks now...
  • Yeah - I find this to be a great thought!! You all have a great day (ok tomorrow since it is so late). Cheerio :glasses:
  • Hi all - just wanted to drop in and say hi. I too have struggled with alot of the same issues as all of you. Every day I think to myself that I will get thru it and do the best I can. I try not to blame myself if I don't. It is so hard to break old habits and not to hear all the voices of past friends and family telling…
  • I walk taller now. I have more energy. I WANT to cross my legs all the time and I CAN... And one thing that really caught my attention, when sitting in the car, on the couch, my hands actually rest on my lap. Never had a lap before. And I don't have to pull 'the girls' back to see my lap. Score!
  • It isn't a dumb question. Yes you can eat 1200 calories in Ice Cream and still lose weight. BUT and it is a BIG BUT - that is not healthy for you. You are not getting the correct amount of nutrients. I eat anything but I eat the Ice Creams, cookies, sugar foods in a very very tiny portions. My dietician said the following:…

  • Wow - you and I are almost the same in numbers and all. You look wonderful. And I too am looking forward to 'onderland.
  • Didn't have it by laparoscopy - had the old fashioned - gut you open like a deer and play around for awhile in 2006. I was slow to get back to exercising but my doc said if I were exercise and maintain a healthy diet I would lose weight. Well I didn't listen - but I will tell you I did feel better - not having all the…
  • Well sorta new. I joined the group but have been lurking until now. My name is Geri Sue, 53, :blushing: 213.8 (as of this morning at the docs ofc). I have been overweight since birth. I have gained and lost at least one person over the last 40 yrs and I do mean 40 - my parents had me on a diet at 12 and at a 'gym' to lose…
  • 34 pounds is awesome. Please don't give up. If the scale is not budging - measure yourself. You will most likely find that you are losing inches. So try that. Also switch up your exercise. My body has gotten used to the walks so I am trying to incorporate strength training and other cardiovascular exercise. You are doing…
  • I am still trying to figure that piece out. Like tonite - just one more bite and my pouch was not happy with me... I am getting better listening but I need to revisit the portion sizes again... doh! :ohwell:
  • Thank you! My doctor also says not to drink with my meals with the lapband. Now I have a better understanding of why.
  • Awesome Laura. You are such an inspiration to me. I am so glad that your labs were great!!! Thanks!!!
  • I do that too - even 2 months out from lapband. I know alot of it is my mind. I an still trying to re-train the brain. this is a process - you can't expect to have it all in place in just a few days. You will do fine - listen to the others above. It is a tool and we have to learn how to use it. I did hit that point of…
  • Awesome!
