No no no, it wasn't you. Was I slightly irritated by Dave's response? Yes. But no, yours was very nice.

You are so right, one day down, one day closer. If I made a paper chain it would be unbelievably long since he is not due back until next January. He comes home on combat leave this summer, which I am absolutely beyond excited for. He'll be back either in June or August. Then we'll be halfway through this stupid year.…

20 years in the Army...:flowerforyou: My dad retired after 20 years in the USMC. Thank you for relating to me and not making me feel bad for my meltdown. Being a Marine brat, I knew what I was getting myself into when I married my Marine. I even knew he was deploying. But love doesn't always strike you at the most…

Yes, it really is true. I do need him more. I haven't encountered many people who like it when I say that, but I don't care how selfish I sound. I do need my husband more than they do. Sometimes I feel like wearing a shirt everyday that says "DO NOT MESS WITH ME, MY HUSBAND IS DEPLOYED."

Dave...with all due respect...YOU'RE A GUY. haha... Yes, I have this problem with jeans. The style of shirts I tend to like, though, are longer, thereby eliminating the problem. If nothing else, buy higher waisted jeans. I know a lot of the "in" styles sit very low, but they're a pain in the *kitten*. No pun…

I know I've said it a million times here already, but...as of Wednesday, my husband will have been gone a month. He's in Iraq. I talk to him everyday, he has email access so I can write him emails, but... I am miserable. I had an absolute breakdown last night and again today. Usually I am fine and I get through my days…

Just looked at your photos. He's a tard. You're gorgeous.

I just want to look hot in a bathing suit (and out of one, hehe) for my husband when he comes home. I want to look like myself, but sexier.

I wish I did. I wish...I did. hahahaha

I love that one. Hubby and I danced to it at the Marine Corps Ball and even though he hates country music he sang me the chorus as we danced. This only happened because he was a little tipsy, but still...IT WAS ADORABLE. It's definitely going on our wedding reception playlist.

"Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillet. It's mine and hubby's song. Do you hear me talking to you Across the water, across the deep blue ocean Under the open sky? Oh my, baby I'm trying Boy I hear you, you're in my dreams I hear you whisper across the sea I know you're with me, you're in my heart You make it easier when…

Thanks for posting this. :flowerforyou: Do you think we could get it stickied?

If I had a photo of me in a bathing suit and the guts to post it on a forum like this, I would. I think everyone's body is different, even if some of us are the same height. I have fairly broad shoulders for a female, small chest, curvy hips. I was 145 last September and I was developing a pear shape (lord knows I wouldn't…

I'm new here but I just wanted to say congrats to you two!

I really appreciate the input. It's definitely helping me to figure out what I need to be focusing on. I am not unhappy with the number I see on the scale. 136, I know, is well within my healthy range. But yeah, the flab is making me unhappy. I have rolls when I sit down...ugh. I wear a size 9 (sometimes 11, depends on the…

And from what I've been reading here, I think I may need to be eating more than the supposed 1200 cals a day. Not sure though. I'm so confused...

So what are some good foods with a lot of protein? The ballet pli'es sound like a great idea and I can do them right here at home. I go to the gym on base, which is free (yay!), and I know they have personal trainers because I see them working there with other gym-goers. But I'm not sure if you have to pay for their…

Thanks for the info everyone. I used the BMI tool here on MFP and it says my healthy weight range is 122-165. If I get down to 130 and I like what I see, then I won't keep trying to lose. In middle school I'm pretty sure I was underweight (I had my growth spurt and suddenly my weight didn't match my height), and it didn't…

I am 136 lbs, 5'8", and 22 years old. My goal weight is 125. I just want to know if losing a pound a week is a realistic goal when I'm technically working on my "last 10 lbs." I'm trying not to be disappointed when I don't lose anything in a week...but I don't want to be maintaining quite yet, because I'm not down to my…

Thanks everyone for being so cool about it! :) I've heard so many people say that you always know it's the one when you put it on...I can't wait to find my dress! 10 more pounds though...10 more pounds....lol
-
Maybe it was just the poofy I tried on. I plan on trying many, many more dresses, so maybe I will end up with a poofy. I probably shouldn't judge all poofy dresses based on the 2 I tried on, lol. It was probably just the tops of them really...I have a smaller chest so some designs on the top of a gown can make my top half…

Back in September I started at 145, and ended at 138 in early November. So I only lost about 7 lbs before I started at MFP.
-
Yeah I tried on a size 6 and the zipper went almost all the way up. Almost!!! lol I'm being patient though and will not really start dress-hunting until I'm satisfied with my body. My wedding isn't until next year and I want to buy my dress possibly before this summer, so I think I'll have enough time.

Good luck!!!!

I'm not really ready to buy a dress, but we went shopping where there are a bunch of outlet malls, and we were right next to a big bridal shop and I just couldn't resist. I tried on four dresses and determined I DO NOT LIKE big and poofy on me. It felt so strange. It was fun though, and it helped me figure out what styles…

So, you have purchased your dress? There are styles that are more modest in the chest area...maybe you can have the dress altered by adding straps or some kind of nice element that will cover you up a bit more? Even if you lost 20 lbs, it might not be enough to bring down your chest size. Good luck and either way I'm sure…

Congrats and keep up the good work!!!

We are spending our first Valentine's Day as husband and wife apart since he's in Iraq, but... I sent him two cards (one silly, one sweet), candy hearts with the messages (a big bag to share with everyone he works with), two big packs of gum (he loves gum), Raisinets, a watch (he needed one), his Guitar Hero pajama pants,…

If you're okay with it, then good on you. IMHO, a 32 year old man with three kids should probably have considered leaving the bartending in his 20s. Especially with it taking up so many nights. When the kids get to be school aged, they're literally never going ot see him if he works nights and they're in school during the…

Your husband is a bartender? Has he considered a career change? I just can't comprehend how being a bartender can mix with being a husband and father of three small children. My husband is currently deployed to Iraq. He chose to join the military before he ever knew me. We did get married knowing he was going to be gone,…
