  • In my purse or if I'm out with The Hubs and I'm sans purse, I ask if he can put it in his cargo pocket for me. :)
  • If you're using a fitbit with an android phone and your fitbit is synced with the fitbit app on your phone, you can go to the dash on your MFP app and choose Apps & Devices from the drop down menu. Then, follow the instructions to add your device. I hope that helps!
  • My question would be, why not count them? It's one or two clicks. If you're logging anyway, it seems like a no brainer to put it in. Also, if you are in it for the long haul, knowing exactly what you were doing at peak times of success can be VERY helpful. Without entering everything, you don't get a complete record.
  • I see a change for sure! You're making good progress...63 days sounds like a long time - and it's a good start to a healthier lifestyle for sure - but it's "only" two months. Keep at this and imagine how you'll feel and look at 6 months!!! Keep up the awesome work!!
  • We always have frozen shrimp on hand. Also ingredients to make vegetable soup and flat breads. Super easy, quick fresh meals...
  • Hi, kitkat. You're going to get a lot of advice, and some of it might be harsh, but know it comes from a good place. I'll gently paraphrase what Cher once said when promoting a gym or some exercise program, "If fitness came in a bottle, everyone would be fit." Admittedly, I've taken many supplements over my adult life and…
  • White Chobani! :) (Does that sound better than White PB&J Chobani Flip?)
  • Amazing job! you'll get back to it but you're doing GREAT!!
  • You are doing great and you look so healthy!! Awesome work!!
  • My mouth guard is brilliant - only for the front teeth (it has a gentle adhesive activated by warm tap water) - so my back teeth don't touch. ( I broke two full set mouth guards by grinding.) It has changed my life.
  • Thanks for posting this link!! For the OP, I say just keep rockin' it and see how your skin retracts. From your pretty picture, you look young. The skin retract some over time. If you lose weight quickly, it can take a little while for this to happen, as I have experienced several times in my life (Hello, stretch marks!!)…
  • Yup, what BinaryFu said...if you are religious, you can get some faith-based counseling often at no or reduced cost and there are usually lots of social activities available. If that is part of your belief system, church is a wonderful way to find supportive, like-minded people. You get only one life...I vote for taking…
  • I eat only seafood and vegetables (going on 23 years now). When I first converted, even though I wasn't a big meat eater before, I did have some intestinal difficulties. For me, that went away over time. Friends who get gas from broccoli or beans are like, "How can you eat those!??!" but I found that my body got used to it…
  • August isn't too far away...might be fun to try eating like your sister does some of the time and see if there are any benefits to that lifestyle! Even if you do it only 50% of the time, you might find that you like some of the principles of a plant-based food plan.
  • If you enjoy them equally, I'd eat both and see which kept me feeling fuller and better for longer. Personally, I avoid artificial things (usually) so I'd probably opt for the Kashi which seems to have fewer (Franken)ingredients. Enjoy!
  • How neat! Now others will read about your success and hopefully make some modifications to their lifestyles, too! Nicely done!
  • There are lots of resources out there that say people can build muscle at any age. I would think if a person is more sedentary as s/he gets older, s/he'd lose muscle mass, but I don't think that "has" to be the case (ex. Jack LaLanne)... So, maybe they're allowing for sedentary behavior and they deem that as acceptable?
  • I found they had a severe laxative effect and so I don't eat them! YIKES! :o
  • Hi! I've eaten in the manner you describe for more than 20 years. I can tell you that for me, the bloating subsided as your body adjusts. You can take Beano if you want - I've had friends who have upped their Veg and say that it helps. On the fatigue, I don't know where you are but it's winter here...are you sure you're…
  • If you're at the gym, look for the "doctor's style" scale and ask an attendant if it has been recently calibrated. Pick that one and use whatever the scale says as your baseline. I have had zero luck with electronic scales...
  • I tried reduced sugar vanilla almond milk this weekend in mind and YUM!!
  • I have to admit Reading Old Nuts made me laugh Like Beavis, "Heh heh."
  • Big changes indeed! Since you're not eating fast food/junk food and sticking to vegetables and healthier food, you may be surprised at how much more you're able to eat, PLUS the extra exercise you're doing now. So, for sure, up those calories. If your doctor isn't a nutritionist, you might ask her or him to refer you to…
  • Agreed. This must be the same considerate person who broke the seal on the veggie broth I bought and brought home. I would have never thought to take off the lid and check the inner seal. Nice way to cost a fellow shopper $$ and inconvenience. CLASSY!
  • Unless spiritually or morally compelled to eliminate meat from your diet, I don't see a need to. Eating lean animal proteins that aren't fried in something seems fine to me...and I'm a 20+ year pescetarian (fish and veg only, and even then, only occasional fish). I don't see elimination diets as being sustainable…
  • I am so sorry you're experiencing female issues...I'm all too familiar with them. My first recommendation is to get a second opinion from another doctor/surgeon. Find someone that the friends or colleagues you trust most would recommend. Doing this literally changed my life for the better...my first doctor was an idiot.…
  • Add other veggies and some very spicy salsa!! YUM!
  • Sparkling pear juice. And no, I didn't drink it for this reason - it was a complete surprise!
