So true. I am back on track as of today (my stats are not current) and I keep telling myself to just get through the first few weeks and I know I will feel better.

20 pounds is HUGE. To put it in perspective, I lost 90 pounds 2 years ago and had been doing a great job maintaining. The past Summer, I stopped working and was enjoying going out, having wine with dinner and having dessert once in a while. I felt like I looked the same, my clothes still fit (just a little more snug) and I…

I go up to shower, brush teeth, and watch TV or read in my room- kitchen is closed for the night ;)

Our dog will definitely not be just let out as we have a yard but it isn't fenced in, plus do NOT want my yard to be full of poop ;)

This. And get rid of the scale. Only weight yourself every couple weeks initially so you don't get frustrated with ups and downs. And be honest with your logging.

First off, you have AWESOME hair!! OK, now that I got that said, your brain might need time to catch up with your body. I know for me, after I had lost a lot of weight and was in smaller clothes, the 225 pound blob still stared back at me in the mirror on my lowest days. I would catch myself feeling like nothing had…

Give yourself a break- it took 40 weeks to gain the weight, give yourself 40 weeks to get back to your post partum weight. It takes a while for your abdominal muscles to go back to how they were. If you are breast feeding, you need 250 extra healthy calories per day.

I had to lose 20 pounds before anyone noticed and then it was constant after that. If you are noticing a difference in your clothes, remember you are doing this for you and no one else, so while it's great when people notice, at some point the weight loss will stop and you won;t be able to be motivated by other people's…

WOW!! What a huge difference!

Do you have any pictures of you from before you lost the weight? Of so, look at those and it will make you realize how far you've come. I had the opposite where I hadn't realized how great I looked until I put back on some weight and then saw pics taken at my lightest and realized- dang, I looked great!

This is totally me, except I lost 90 pounds about 2 years ago. Last Summer I thought I could just have a few nights out a week where I had a couple drinks and dessert, and before I knew it, I started feeling my clothes tight on me. I switched jobs to a more sedentary one, and we just went away for a trip to the tropics and…

I think family cam be particularly cruel because they know you are "stuck" with them, so to speak. My mother was always my worst critic, telling me no one would ever love me because I am so fat. Now I am healthy, happily married, have two gorgeous kids and she is now telling me I am to thin and Vain. Family is just mean…

My birthday is today and I am sticking to the usual plan. I feel like since for me this is a lifestyle change, I don;t need to use tonight as an excuse to go crazy. I will likely go out to eat this weekend at some point and will see what that brings. Nothing wrong with celebrating if you choose to, but also nothing wrong…

I always remind myself that as long as I am healthy and look good with clothes ON that's what matters. I don;t need to look good naked. My husband loved me fat and loves me thin with saggy skin. Be proud of what you have done to take care of yourself and be patient- you'll get there.

So very sorry for your loss. I have never been through anything like that, but I am sure if your mother were here she would cheer you on and tell you to keep going and take care of yourself. Therapy will be a big help I am sure. Take time to grieve, but don;t lose yourself in the process.

I do a dry rub of crushed garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper and throw it on the grill. Delish!

As soon as the kitchen is cleaned up from dinner, it is off limits to everyone in the house! My kids have water bottles they fill and take upstairs to their rooms. My kids are still young (8 and 10) so we go up and do shower/reading/bed routine, then I take my shower after they are on bed, then I settle in to watch TV or…

Funny, we went to DC a couple Summers ago when I was four months into my weight loss journey and I was so worried I would gain or stall that week. But imagine my surprise and glee when I lost 5 pounds after the week. It was hot as balls there (July) and we walked a zillion miles, but I didn't really think about that and…

Great job! I had to lose a full 20 pounds before anything felt loose on me (my starting weight was 220 and I was a size 18).

I eat Greek yougurt every single day for breakfast. I do about 3/4 cup Fage total (full fat), a cut up apple, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Then I add about 1/4 cup of Engine 2 Rip's Big Bowl cereal. I have been eating this for breakfast every day for ever and I love it! It keeps me full for 4-5 hours. I initially was doing…

I had two this weekend. On Friday, our neighbors had a pot luck and I managed to skip the alcohol (pumpkin martinis- yum) and only eat the veggies/hummus and soup. There were so many yummy foods and desserts there. And yesterday I had a wedding reception and refused all the hand-passed hors deovres b/c they were all…

I go to bed hungry almost every night. I eat dinner early (usually 6pm) so by 9pm I am hungry again. So instead of worrying about snacking/cheating/binging, I just go to sleep. So now not only am I eating well, but I am also getting more sleep b/c I am going to bed earlier :) I feel great!

I love the website skinnytaste- lots of yummy recipes there.

Good for you for getting back OP now and not wasting anymore time. I reached my goal in November of 2013 and was doing great. Then this Summer I got lazy with tracking and started eating a little bit of foods I had given up, back to drinking a glass of wine every night...I had no idea I had done so much damage until we had…

For me it was more a feeling if "oh wow, I'm really doing this". Once I hit the 20 pound mark, I finally dropped a clothing size and once that happened, it gave me motivation to continue.

I didn't lose friends as a result specifically to weight loss, but it was a factor b/c due to losing weight, I was more confident and started dating. I met a lot of really nice guys and was having fun going out and being more social. A friend of mine (who was always thin) was single and I think feeling like I was spending…
