I add Kashi go lean crunch to the yogurt & wash it down with a protein shake.

Also make sure you're hydrated properly, that could be a factor as well.

I personally would never run barefoot. Too many bad things can happen. When I first read about the mid sole running approach, it took me a while before it became natural for me. the best advice I can give is to lean forward a little bit when you run. I found that when I ran upright, it was easy to fall back into the heel…

I've had mine since December (we have 3 of them in the house) & the only problem I've had was one of the bases stopped working. I saw in another thread that they have very good customer service, so I'm going to try & get that resolved this week. Lilacdreamer - Are you being nice when you inform people that a fitbit is not…

It comes with a belt clip & I wear it on my hip.

Start out with interval training. Get warmed up, run at a higher pace for a while, then when you need to slow down, walk for 3 minutes & repeat as necessary, gradually increasing the running times at a higher pace. I used to have the same feelings about running as you do. Now I'm getting ready to run my first ever race in…

That's good to know, because one of our bases died last week & I need to try & get it fixed.

I've never used a C25K program, I just started out like you're doing. After I warm up, I run for as long as I can, then walk for 3 minutes, and I repeat that for my cardio workout. I set the incline on at least 2.5 while I'm running & I'll vary the speeds at which I run. You just need to find out what works for you & keep…

You have to keep at it. It's a marathon, not a sprint. You didn't put on all the weight in a week or a month, so focus on the big picture. You need to think about eating back some of your exercise calories at the very least. Your body needs food to repair/strengthen muscles & if you don't properly feed it, you won't get…

I also do the stairmaster once a week in order to give me a change from the treadmill. I always do the landmark program, Burj Khalifa in Dubai (255 floors), fat burner program, usually takes me about 33 minutes.

Mine would have been OUCH! #@^^#&^&^&$I

I still haven't figured out how to continually breathe in rhythm, but from what i read on runnersworld.com, breathe through your mouth, simply for more air each breath.

I wear my fitbit all the time & it does not monitor your heart rate.

I was answering his question about when to increase weight in general. I don't try the 1RM since I work out by myself & have limited time during my lunch hour.

I've lost my interest in ever being fat again, and a mid size microwave oven.

Cubs fan, so nobody else out there gets to do any complaining about their team. My wife's grandmother is 101 & she's seen nearly everything this world has to offer except the Cubs winning the world series. Being a Cubs fan is like playing powerball. You hope for the best, but expect the worst. Has anyone seen the trailer…

I've always wanted to be the meaty goodness in a Bell sandwich (Kristen, Catherine & Lake). Tough to narrow it down to one, but either Stana Katic, Kristen Bell, Danielle Ruah or AJ Cook

When I can do 3 sets of a weight with at least 12 reps in each set, I'll increase my weight by 5 pounds.

I use the Yurbuds Ironman Inspire earbuds & I recommend them highly. If you put them in correctly, they shouldn't fall out. I ran 10K last Saturday & the only time I had to mess with them was when I got caught up in the cord & almost pulled my left one out. I got my pair for less than $30 at Wal-Mart. Here's a review of…

It doesn't log it into MFP. You have to enter the exercise in yourself, but it puts a Fitbit calorie adjustment in when it updates, which gets adjusted throughout the day depending on your activity level.

A lot of people at the gym I go to use 2 or 3 cardio machines every day when they work out. I run on a treadmill twice a week, stairmaster once a week (today) & I'll run outdoors on Saturday. Your body will get used to a cardio machine only if you let it. For me, I vary the incline & the speed I run at. One day I'll run as…

I love my fitbit & for me, it's not an excuse to eat more, it's a motivator to walk more. You don't log things like going to the bathroom, just actual exercise, such as running, going for a walk, even mowing the lawn.

Stairmaster - 255 floors (climbed the equivalent of Burj Khalifa in Dubai) in just under 32 minutes.

Tracking strength training on MFP is sadly limited. You can't break it down by exercise if you do a different number of reps in each set. I prefer to use Jefit.com (the have an app for that also) to track my strength training & then input the calories burned on MFP.

I'm preparing to run my very first race ever in early June & it's a 10K. My original goal was to complete it in less than an hour, but I'm going to have to modify that goal. Last Saturday on my weekly run, I ran 10K in 54:34 & that's going over (& back) an overpass near my home twice. Now I'm aiming for less than 45…

My 2nd job is at a garden center. Earlier this spring, when we were getting set up, I moved 244 cinder blocks from a pallet & built most of the plant stands that we use. I can tell you two things: It's definitely hard work & get some good gloves. I was carrying them two at a time & I ruined a pair of nearly brand new…
