Awesome!! I know exactly what you mean! I've explained (in kid terms) to my little ones what exactly I'm doing and the four-year-old sort-of understands. The whole journey has made us have the nutrition conversation with them and hopefully it'll stay with them long-term. I was a severely overweight child. Like you, I don't…

awesome!!! You're doing a great job!! Not much further and you'll be in the 200s!!!

Thank you! Before we know it, Ill be reading your half-way story. :) MFP members & friends mean so much to me. The stories, suggestions, advice, encouragement... they mean the world. I'm so grateful for it.

ha! Thank you so very much. I'm *trying* to learn to love my disproportionate self. Something I find funny: No matter how much I've lost, my hips are always 9-10 inches larger than my waist. Starting, hips were 55, waist was 45. Now, Hips are 45.5, waist is 35.5.

Congratulations! You've done super well so far, so don't let anything stop you. :) It does get slower, for sure!! It took four months to get from 199-186. I had two big plateaus and that learning curve caught up to me. No matter how long it takes, nobody can say we didn't try!

I know it feels like so far to go, but the time will go by either way, right? May as well be making ourselves better while that time passes. Congratulations on having a baby. :) Babies are the best.

Thank you, Nicole! We WILL get there. :) You've been doing so great sticking with it. Look how far you've already come. I'm proud of you and am so glad to have you as a friend.

Thank you, that's very sweet.

I like younger. :) haha. Thank you very much.

this!! Both. Doesn't have to be one or the other.

Love this!!! Thank you for sharing! You rock.

The only person who can motivate you is YOU. You'll either do it or you won't. You can be inspired by others, but they can't give you the drive you need. You need to find whatever drives you and expose yourself to that as much as possible (for me, it's exercise...if I give that up, my healthy eating inevitably follows, so…

Love!!! You're awesome.

I like this answer. I did C25K two years ago, but had a completely misguided concept of what it would take to lose weight. I fell off the "wagon" with eating properly and didn't really lose weight. I kept up the jogging, but without the proper intake, it didn't really matter. Once I started focusing on the weight loss,…

Boo I hate this kind of thing. I live in the south, where they say "Bless Your Heart" all the time. It can EITHER mean, "I wish you well" or it can mean, "Rot In Hell"... You're sweet, for normal people who can own up to their feelings, SHOULD mean, "I appreciate the nice thing you just did/said." But I'm assuming these…

yep, me too. completely disproportionate.

I'm not very good at written sarcasm, but I thought for sure this was sarcasm until I saw the first response. See, these forums aren't made for people who aren't good at sarcasm (like me). mmm grilled cheese. If it fits your macros, right? :)

What this guy said!

The fact of the matter is that this is mostly a gray area--not much is black and white. Some people think their way is the only right way, but that isn't the case. Lots of different things work...there's not one single "right" way. It also doesn't need to be one or the other. Cardio AND resistance. Exercising at high…

I think you should do whatever you want. :) Give it a try! I go to an all-women's gym, so I have no idea if guys do yoga on the regular, but I don't think it'd hurt to be the only male, right?
-
aw yay!! Great job. You're doing fantastic.

that I won't ever think of myself as "the fat one" again and that I'll be more confident. :)
-
way to go!!! :) One of my fave things about strength training is that it's not comparable! Heavy is a relative term, so all that matters is that we do better than we did before. You're doing great!!

Am I too late? If not, bmskid CW: 189 GW: 179

Your gym might have a machine that can check... those are better than nothing!

I started lifting somewhere around 220... I will say that the actual number loss will likely be slower. Prepare yourself for that. BUT--you won't end up skinny fat when you reach your goal weight. The plus side is that you LOOK like you weigh less than you actually do. And your skin will be less likely to sag once you're…

That's exactly the point. If you can't see the bad days, you think they're "not that bad". Either way, you have no idea because you didn't log. You should log even the bad stuff so you can look back and see if you've actually had a calorie deficit each week.
-
I agree with this. The key is consistency and persistence. You can't only log some of the time.
-
3 pounds in 2 weeks sounds like good loss...

Oh, I see!
