Apples do have a lot of chemicals in them. That can't be good for you. I'd just stick to Breyers ice cream to be safe.

Unless someone has a specific sensitivity to it, there should be no concern. Poison = dead Aspartame = tasty and zero calories This does not seem an appropriate comparison.

No. And No.

This is an awesome, coffee filled post.

Ultimately, you can't control what other people do, so the important thing is how you handle your response. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/ihad/view/people-will-notice-647269

Sometimes your tastes change, as you get more used to certain tastes and less to others. Sometimes it's a mental attitude - because you view certain foods as bad or good, you react to them differently. Your tastes may change, but you can fit in a wide variety of delicious and nutritious foods while losing weight and then…

For the most part, I think you really don't need more than a good balanced diet. If you are eating diverse nutritious foods you really don't have a lot of gaps that need filling to give you more energy. Looking for supplements, juices, shakes, detoxes, and the like - they're all distractions. Look at your diary and see if…

I prayed this would be the exact post. :drinker:

This. Day 365. Such useful, valuable info.

Those are the targets MFP gives you for meeting protein, fats, and carbohydrates. You should consider the protein and fat targets as minimums - your body needs adequate protein and fat for basic functioning. [/quote] I manage all the points, occasionally going over carbs fat and sugars but not proteins as it seems very…

For your stats, situation, and experience, 1600 seems like a reasonable maintenance target, so going a bit above that would likely give you a slow gain. It takes some experimentation. Since it's only been two weeks that you've started trying to gain, I'd say patience will be a good friend. Two weeks of nothing happening…

There are foods that have lots of calories and nutrients that would make it easier to add in calories while eating very nutritiously. And making treats part of the plan, as long as you can manage the temptations to eat too much of them, is not a naughty thing.

First - congratulations on your weight loss. That takes fantastic dedication and persistence. You probably need to experiment more with what level of calories is really maintenance for you. Try gradually increasing your calories until you see the results you want. Also, are there any exercises you can do right now? Body…

Yes. Lifting will help you retain muscle mass as you lose weight. Cardio is great for fitness, endurance, and calorie burning. Work at a sustainable pace. Don't go too low on calories so you get frustrated and give up. Above all, cultivate patience. Give yourself time. Every step forward is a victory.

Your ticker says you've lost 8 pounds since you joined MFP in July. Is this correct? If so, what do you mean by not losing, like how long has it been that you haven't lost weight?

Here's another story - some things that were important for me in making a successful long term change. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/ihad/view/reflections-on-a-year-of-maintenance-667953 And you are right, a lot of this is about managing your attitude. I cover a lot of issues and examples on that in my blog if you're…

People deal with grief in different ways and in their own timeframes. Here's a good article for some perspective, with an important quote that reads: "Remember, grieving is a personal process that has no time limit, nor one “right” way to do it." http://psychcentral.com/lib/the-5-stages-of-loss-and-grief/000617 The five…

A little more about the exercises. When I started. I couldn't do more than 15-20 minutes. So that's what I did. As my fitness improved, I ramped up the workouts and really started enjoying them. I look forward to them now. In a busy life, they are the time you invest in yourself. Know that you're worth it.
