I love how many people have responded. I opened mine up simply because I don't care if other people see what I'm doing. If I started getting negative comments or too many people being critical, then I might close it, but that just hasn't happened. And if I drink a gallon of beer, wine, or scotch on some evening, I'll still…

Great work!! I'm really close myself. Half way through, I thought I didn't have a chance. However, since the 15th of the month, the pounds poured off and I lost 6 in the last two weeks. So now I'm really close. In fact, I'd call myself "one really good poop away from meeting the goal." I'm giving myself the full time.…

"Couch to 5k" program. I would just move on to day 3. You should be just fine at that level.

Sounds pretty petty to me, but unless you really knew this person on a personal basis, then they weren't really your "friend", so it's no great loss. However, I do understand your point of view that it hurts a little. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I need more MFP friends, and I won't judge you. I opened my…

I've created my own exercise for each of the P90x workouts using this calculator as a guide: http://p90xcalories.com/

That's great work! You look fantastic! I'm where you are in the program right now too. I'm coming to the end of my 7th week. For me, that's week 2 of phase 2 (I did an extra phase 1 week because I used the first week of the program to just get the severe muscle soreness behind me). In that 7 weeks on P90x, and with…

I've been told it's my charisma. But I've always had well defined legs too.

First of all, stop thinking of it as a diet. It became much easier for me once I started to think of it as simply "tracking everything I eat." Sure, you have a calorie goal every day that you may or may not hit. The important thing I've learned is that it's not about the numbers, it's about the education. After tracking…

Tell him to smile!! How tall is he? I started at 230 and am down to 208 with a goal of 165-170. So it looks like he's done exactly what I'm trying to do.

The list is shorter than the first week. I know I'll be back on it for week 3. Great job everyone!

Loved your post Scott! It was really a nice read. We all have our own personal Cuban Missile Crises; and it's nice to hear one articulated so well. By demons usually come down to the weekend alcohol. But I'm getting much better with controlling my intake, and it feels like a win every time I make a smart choice. Keep up…

From someone who's been there... Great job! But you're not out of the woods yet. I quit by taking it in 10 day increments at first. I knew if I made it the first 10 days, it would start to get easier, but there would still be plenty of strong cravings. So then take it another 10 days, and know it will get easier still. But…

So far so good! I played golf yesterday in some pretty hot and humid conditions and got a touch of heat sickness so I wasn't that hungry, hence, I ended up quite a bit lower than my calorie goal. I did try to rehydrate as much as possible but still was down more than 2 pounds since yesterday (I'm sure it was all water…

And even in this case, it assumes you are using an accurate setting for your max HR. I'm on a beta blocker for controlling migraines, which means my HR doesn't follow the standard formula. I'm having a hell of a time getting my max HR dialed in to something that makes sense and is accurate; this affects the HRM's report of…

Yeah, I have been tracking my normal water intake in the glass at the bottom. Just wasn't sure if I should count the water used in a recovery drink made with powder. If feels a little like counting the water in a gatorade, or a decaf coffee, which doesn't make sense.

I agree, I think you need a new scale. I don't see how there's any way that can only be 5 pounds. You look great!

I'm actually having the opposite issue. Since changing my diet to be mostly "clean", and eating 5-6 small meals per day, I'm finding there are times when I might not go for 48-72 hours. Then when I expect a "grandiose expulsion", it ends up being pretty normal. I'm eating very well and including greek yogurt. And I don't…

I would say "thank you". Why does the word 'obsessed' have to be a negative thing? if I'm obsessing about something that's good for me, then it's a positive in my book.

I've had some really good recent weeks and this is a great opportunity for that little bit of extra motivation to help make these changes a habit, rather than "just a thing I did once." I'm in and I'll send my starting weight on Wednesday!

P90x Legs and Back this morning. C25K workout later.

Many many many concoctions of misc. liquor. The hangover was not pretty.

Since I am not a morning person, and I try to have all my workouts be in the morning, I came up with a mantra that helps me get out of bed when the alarm goes off. "The hardest movement you'll make all day is this first one to get out of bed." It helps when I know that even my workout will be easier than the first move to…

I weigh myself every day, and I log it in a spreadsheet with a graph. I can deal with the dips and spikes with no problem. What's really motivating to me is when I see the graph consistently trending downward over time. It makes fluctuations seem non-existent when you're looking at a long term graph. It was so motivating…

So are all you heavy burners eating those calories back? That's like an extra 1,000 calories per day. What and how do you eat to make up for that?

As it relates to weight loss, I’m not sure of the correct answer. I’m a chronic “non-breakfast” eater, and I honestly think it’s been detrimental. I have found that whenever I do try to lose weight, it comes off much faster if I do eat breakfast regularly. It also means I’m hungry all day long, whereas if I don’t eat…
