Let's hear your favorite April Fool's prank
I was reading some today and this one struck me as particularly funny: Parents, sneak into your children's room at night and quietly switch them to each other's beds. Just make sure you're there when they wake up, so you can reap the reward. And one I liked to use on new computer techs that I hired: On the prankee's…

Fit Test #3 Results
If you make it to test #3 then you're officially ready to start month 2. I'm probably a week earlier than many of you because I started on 2/4/13. I did my 3rd fit test this morning, then the first month 2 workout tonight. That 60 minute workout is a killer!! Here are the results of my three fit tests so far: SwitchKicks:…

Another view about eating back exercise calories
This is a slightly different opinion about eating back exercise calories. First of all, this is not a post about “whether or not” you should eat them back. I’ll let you decide that for yourself. I, personally, eat a percentage of mine back. Usually about 75% as a general goal. This is purely about the numbers. As I started…

Health Screening NSV
Back in July I set myself a 100 day goal to lower all my health screening numbers from what they were last November. Today was the day of my screening and the results have been fantastic. All numbers have improved, and some have even gone from high risk levels into normal/desirable levels. This basically makes all the…

A milestone for me today!
The scale read 199.6 That's the first time I've seen it start with a 1 in quite a few years. I'm also officially half way to my goal weight as of this morning. And you know what feels really good? It's not that I actually made this milestone... It's that I made it and still have 100% commitment and motivation to keep me…

Only 1 more week people!!
Are you going to buckle down for this last week? Even though many of us may not still have the chance to lose the full 10 pounds, that's not really the point of the challenge. The point is that we've given ourselves a short term goal to focus on, rather than think about the longer term big picture, which can seem daunting.…

How did you do last week?
I'm not ashamed to admit that my week wasn't that good. I spent 5 days with the guys at a cabin up north, which was a last minute thing on the schedule. The eating wasn't that healthy and the drinking was even worse. There are just certain events I don't have the willpower to maintain a perfectly healthy lifestyle. But…

Day 1 of our challenge, what's your plan to kick it off?
Here we are at day 1 to start the August ten-pound challenge. What are your plans for today to get things going in the right direction? I had a good P90x plyometrics workout this morning that burned about 490 calories. I ate half those calories back with a recovery drink immediately after. I'm having leftover jerk chicken…

Question about logging water
I know this might be a little nitpicky, but here goes... Some days I will mix a recovery drink using a powder and water. I definitely log the calories and other elements in my food diary. But should I log the water too? So if it's 2 scoops of powder in 20 ounces of water, would I track that 20 ounces as daily water intake?
