Feel free to friend me Robert! I started my journey at nearly 300 lbs a couple of years ago, and lost 60 lbs before backsliding. Back on the clock now. My food diary is open. Having support in the lifestyle change is very important to success! You can do this!

Ran the mandatory fitness test at my workplace and got my PB in time, and I wasn't really trying hard...scaled the 5' wall like it wasn't there. Have lost 7" in my waist, and the fitness instructor said I looked phenomenal....I feel great!

Up 3 pounds as well. At least part of it is water weight from all the sodium (but it was so dang tasty!). Logging an extra workout or two and moving on without regret, as it was a day filled with family and friends. Two or three workouts is chump change compared to the fun (and good food!) that was had, at least in my…

Indeed...a food scale is the way to go. Weigh solids in grams, liquids in cups. I started my weight loss journey by just walking...Walk, run/jog for a short bit. Calories in<Calories out, and move more. Winter is certainly a challenge as far as being outdoors for exercise...treadmill, stationary bike, or even walk in place…

At work, we have a mandatory obstacle course that is timed that we must complete it. Completed it under time and cleared all the obstacles under time...never have been able to do that before!

I was certainly dreading my first step on the scale. I knew I was heavy...my visit to the Doctor's office in the months before I made the decision to change my lifestyle confirmed that. I had watched it go up, up, and up for years. But my thinking became this...like others said, it's just a number. It only has power over…

Being fairly new to the program myself, one thing I have learned is to log everything. That allows me to get a handle on where I am at calorie-wise for the day. I highly recommend the following link to get started...there are others as well.…

I started C25K last year on a treadmill (before stopping in October...blargh). IIRC correctly I started around 3.6 MPH. From what I've read, you should be able to carry on a conversation and jog. If you can't, you're going too fast. And I agree with Amusedmonkey...go for time, not distance. You can always run through the…

I have the Fitbit Flex, and I love mine. I've got it set to sync with my Android smartphone, and I find myself driven to get the categories (steps, distance, active minutes) in the "green" every day (currently set at 10,000 steps, 5 miles walked, and 30 very active minutes). I've also convinced a couple of co-workers to…

Welcome Rob! I've now got 20 days under my belt, and am approaching 15 lbs lost. Feel free to add me..my diary is wide open! As far as portion control goes, I have a digital scale in the kitchen that I use to measure the weight of food. I'm slowly getting better at making sure I do, and now that my wife is on MFP as well,…
