Massage soy sauce into your chicken. Add a combination of garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Massage the chicken again - this works in all the flavors and makes the chicken nice and tender. Grill and enjoy!

The elliptical is my FAVORITE cardio machine. Best wishes on finding the machines you like, and way to go you for facing your anxieties! :flowerforyou:

The thing is, the drugs help - or did, anyway. When I first sought out my general practitioner to discuss options, that's really what it was - to check my options. I even flat-out said I hate putting chemicals in my body and would rather not go on medication if there was an alternative, but I was at the end of my rope. She…

I can't even afford the extra gas and the coinsurance charges, much less paying $100+ USD per session!!!

I should note, I HAD been seeing a counselor. With the advent of the new year, my insurance no longer pays for my visits. She did say we could probably appeal the decision, but frankly, her office is pretty far out of the way, battling traffic to get there upsets me even more, and I can't afford the gas and the…

I burned 625 calories yesterday doing an hour on the elliptical. :)

I just might have to try "turtle burgers" - that looks awesome. Best part: low carb!!!! I'd try the meatloaf without the noodles . . .

I'm doing low carb, too. I've done it before, I just needed to get back on that bandwagon. There's not much you can do for the headaches right now. As you said, they will pass in a few days. Drink more water, take an Excedrin or two, and/or drink an extra cup of coffee or tea. As to your question about tracking sugar…

I, personally, have cut them out for now because I'm doing low carb. I'll still snitch a grape now and then, though.

Re: diabetes - that is incorrect information. ALL sugar, whether it's from processed foods or fruit, spikes your insulin levels the same way. My godson is a 6-yr-old type 1 diabetic. If his sugar goes low, a good way to spike his sugar fast is to give him apple juice. A diabetic needs to be does for the carb, regardless of…

Are you kidding? I'm waiting for the coffee IV to go mass-market! Seriously, yes, I do. I have about 12 oz of coffee every morning, and I take my coffee black. My body is addicted to caffeine, and caffeine also helps boost your metabolism.

Just as there is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol, and good fats and bad fats, think of it as good calories and bad calories. Yes, all foods have calories, unless they have been chemically modified not to (i.e., sugar free foods, with rare exceptions like stevia). Fruits do have more calories than veggies because they…

Yup. January 1 do-over!

You look fabulous, gorgeous! Congratulations!

One thing I try to do, when I start feeling the pangs of snack cravings: drink water. Half the time, we are actually thirsty as opposed to hungry, but we're so used to reaching for food we fail to recognize what our body actually wants. I get the 1L bottles of clear, sugar free caffeine free sodas (like Clear American at…

Wow, do we work at the same job? Sounds like me, LOL! I watch my net carb intake, and try to stay below 1705 calories a day. 1705 is my BMR (Base Metabolic Rate, or how much/little I'd have to consume to maintain my current weight without doing anything - ie, laying in bed all day. I figure that's a good number to focus on…

I am a woman and started wearing gloves, because when the calluses started developing they HURT. I'd imagine the situation is similar for anyone. I also had an ex-boyfriend remark once on how my hands were a little rough, and, well . . . I can't imagine calluses would help THAT issue *cough cough*

Friends. Real friends. "Friends" I've never met in person don't count. Far too much of our culture is reliant on social media. I actually deleted my Facebook account because I was just tired of the petty bullsh!t. Find people who truly love you, who are truly supportive of you. MFP should be little more than a tracking and…

You're a gorgeous gal, and your boyfriend obviously thinks so too. Try to find a suit that flatters your size - tankinis with skirted bottoms are awesome. Fashion Bug is closing, so if they have any swimsuits left, take advantage of the website's closeout sale. I just bought a size 18 from their store earlier this summer…

I'm following an Atkins-ish diet. My body does not respond to carbs well, so I try to avoid them. Feel free to message me for details. To answer your question, yes, it's working. For the first time in years, my gut is smaller than my boobs. Yay!

I gave up sugar about three years ago and I actually don't miss it. Now, I still allow myself an occasional treat, but I don't eat anywhere NEAR the amount I used to. Part of my drive was when my little godson, who was 2 1/2 at the time, was diagnosed with diabetes. The doctors at CHOP (Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia)…

If you're including plenty of meats and fruits in your diet, then there's no way you're only eating 500 calories/day. Fruit has lots of natural sugar, and obviously sugar = calories, and protein also has a higher caloric content. Make sure you're counting every nibble that goes in your mouth, even that small handful of…

I gave mine to Goodwill. Believe me, I have favorites too, and I hate to part with things I paid good money for (especially some of those bridesmaid/fancy wear dresses!), but I realized a) I never want to have to wear them again, and as long as they're in my closet, they're fallback), b) It's kind of nice seeing, not only…

While it's a little pricey, I've found sometimes you really get what you pay for. I'm in love with the Proactiv line - especially the shower stuff, because there's an exfoliating body wash for the shower, AND a lotion with salicylic (sic) acid in it for you to put on after your shower! I actually used the stuff on my…

I hate that size 16 to size 24 crap - been there too! LOL - I am happy to report that after almost 3 months of being dilligent, I am back between an 18-20 or 22-24, depending on how the clothing is cut/styled. We can do this!!

I'm here for ya - 32 year old currently at 227.5 - lost 12 so far this year. Ideally I'd like to lose 100, but my goal is to weigh 150 lbs by my friend's wedding on Nov. 10th.

I use a packet of stevia to sweeten, and usually add dried cranberrries, raisins, or dried blueberres. If I used freeze-dried strawberries (I love the Archer Farms brand from Target), I find I don't need extra sweetener. Sometimes I use DaVinci sugar-free syrups - lime oatmeal is delicious and freakishly green! LOL I…
