  • What type of workout did you do? Weight training will cause temporary "weight" gain as the muscle draws in water to repair itself. :) I gained 1.25 inches on my hips, 1 inch on my thighs and damn near 2 pounds the day after leg day. *holds up right hand* True story! lol :D
  • YES! I was waiting for an Anne Rice fan! *pow* extra points for you. And, duh.. of course Vampire... my first order of business would be to "talk" to Stephanie Meyers... >_<
  • If you were doing Atkins and restricting your carb intake your body is going to gain a little "weight" (not necessarily fat) as your body adjusts and absorbs some water. It's one reason why pro bodybuilders can bloat up after a competition when they increase their carbs. (they go really low carb to cut that last bit of…
  • That definitely is frustrating! It depends on what you are doing :) Your diary is closed so that will be one thing that will be asked of you. Also what are you doing to create a calorie deficit? Are you eating below your tdee, or doing cardio, or weight lifting or a combination of them?
  • It's addictive isn't it? I freakin' love it! And it's contagious too, I've gotten a friend of mine hooked. lol. I'm nothing but a nerdy iron pusher :D haha!
  • *fist bump* Thank you ;)
  • And show her this: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/
  • There are certain abdominal exercises you should avoid if you have a diastasis recti. I had a larger one and avoided traditional movements like situps because I was told it would make it worse. There's a lot of information out there on what to do/not to do. If you google "Check it Before You Wreck it" you'll find some…
  • In for the lifting... "Tall". *Takes out measuring tape* Damn! ...out again....
  • I was finished a set of leg presses, listening to some disturbed and grabbed for my water bottle. Had my drink with headphones blasting and my mind on my next set. Well I got some water on my lips so without thinking (still staring off into space) I lick them. THEN I noticed the creepy old guy that was staring at me the…
  • Wahhhhh.... came in for serious thread is serious thread then peoples are mean and a a guy is a girl and now am finding outses this thread is a LIE?!? What madhouse IS this?!?!!?
  • You have to change your food diary settings to "Public" before someone can look at it :) also 2-4 pounds per week isn't a healthy or realistic goal to set for yourself. At first you can drop "weight" that surpasses the recommended 1-2 pounds/week, but that's mostly water weight and your body trying to adapt to the calories…
  • Most "diet aids" contain some form(s) of caffeine and EGCG which is an extract from green tea. Then various things to suppress appetite. Oh, and colourants. ;)
  • I'm not a dude, lol, but I've been making my husband's meal/nutrition plans for a long time now and it's been working wonderfully. He wants to cut fat and build some muscle so his needs are different, but I think you really need to be eating more. I know it seems like a lot when you start to eat healthier food, but…
  • Perfect timing for this thread. I had c1/2 fusion surgery last October and before that couldn't get that damn bar in the right place to do barbell squats either. Now I can finally get my arms that far back, but they're still pretty tight....
  • This^ only I'm currently doing 30 minutes of cardio after, :D
  • Do lower reps. For example 10reps 3 sets. When I really want to gain some strength I lift 8 reps of 3-4 sets, depending on the muscle I'm working. Do that for a while and you will definitely see some increase in strength. :)
  • http://truestarhealth.com/members/cm_archives11ML3P1A26.html ^good ideas there. You can modify the pushups by doing them on your knees or even by placing your hands on say, your island surface, and doing a pushup that way. I can't do a pullup either, but I put a bar on top of my couch arm (it's high) and the kids craft…
  • Tbh the first 4 days comprise ONE day of my caloric intake and I'm still losing weight and inches. And I'm *cough*olderthanyou*cough* lol. You'll be so much happier and still lose weight, by eating a lot more than that plan suggests. I was laughing at this the other night.... I eat 5-6 times a day, I'm never hungry and yet…
  • lol. I add bananas in my pwo shake simply for the carbs... Greek yogurt is amazing, just don't add tooooo much if you don't like your shake having a "tangy" kind of taste (Hubby learned that the hard way) lol. Freezing the fruit first seems to make for a better flavour to me ;) Chocolate pp/coffee/ice/stevia.... freakin'…
  • MFP doesn't calculate for weight training because it involves too many variables. From intensity to length of rest periods. The closest it comes is calculating it as cardio (yes, it's listed there) at something like 223 calories an hour burned. :) I track it as cardio, not because I think it's accurate, but because I want…
  • I have something you just might enjoy :) http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=Over40Transformation I'd do a LOT of things to look like them^^^ ;)
  • For Lifting: Rammstein, Limp Bizkit, Eminem, P!nk, Hedley, 5 Finger Death Punch, Green Day, Korn, LMFAO, Psy, Flo Rida, Hinder, Theory of a Deadman..... etc....
  • Well. Enough boredom busting fun for me.... I think I have a toilet to clean....
  • *walks in* Okay. Here's some tequila for you (save me some) some vodka for you and a rum and coke for you... Ooops... *takes it back* I mean rum and diet coke, we are here for *health* right? *walks to the next group* Here, Watch any Lord of the Rings... hot elves are hot elves. You're welcome. *runs back for a swig of…
  • As crazy as it sounds, I got a great workout in taking the kids to the park! Make sure it's not crowded ;) I did inverted rows on the bar the kids swing on. Step ups on one of the platforms. Lunges of course. I even used my kids to do bench presses. (turning them half way each time of course, their torsos weighed more,…
  • Don't know why that posted twice....
  • ^love.... make me lol
  • lol 19 year old female..... ;)
  • For myself, when that "you are defined by your weight and you are faaaaat" voice starts getting louder, I take away it's "life force" ie. the scale and I work on WHY I am feeling that way. I actually made my husband hide my scale until I didn't even think about it anymore. :) Of course, what works for me may not work for…
