My initial big goal (on my ticker) is 100 lbs, but I'm hoping for more eventually... just trying not to look at anything bigger so I don't get overwhelmed :) I'm happy to have as many friends as possible here- it's great to have so many others who understand the struggles! Feel free to add me!

yum! I love spaghetti squash... my default is topping it with pasta sauce as a low carb & low cal substitute for spaghetti noodles :) It's yummy with just some butter, garlic powder & pepper, too!

Amazing transformation... and I see you hit 100lbs now, Yay! You look fabulous, and it's obvious that you feel fabulous too! Thanks for sharing!
-
fabulous progress, you're looking great! thanks for sharing!

I'm 5'3" and a long ways from my goal... to be 'normal' I should be at least 140, but my initial goal is 160, since that's the lowest I can actually remember ever being :) I'm curious to hear from others around our height! I lost 50lbs once before and the girls didn't go smaller than a D cup.

Congrats, you're looking fabulous!

Wow! You look like your own younger, thinner brother :) Great job!

Amazing progress, congrats, girl! You look fantastic!

I went over by about that much a few days ago... felt awful that evening, but every day is a new day (of course, it doesn't help that I'm craving sweets in a big way tonight!). My advice- start fresh tomorrow!

oooh. cool.

I have a lot to lose as well, and it can get very discouraging... the biggest thing I find is starting over each day fresh, if I ate all the wrong things (and way too much of them) yesterday, today is a new day and I can't let yesterday weigh me down. To encourage yourself mentally, I'd suggest changing your ticker- take…

starvation mode after 5 hours? yikes! I swear by eating ever 2-3 hours, though... just healthy foods in small portions (200-300 calories), easy on the carbs. It keeps me energized and satisfied, plus I eat less when it gets to my one larger meal of the day (sometimes dinner, sometimes lunch). It's not the same as grazing-…

before pictures SUCK. I haven't even taken "official" ones yet, because I have photos from Christmas and those are bad enough... that said, they will be great to look back at even 10-15 lbs from now, you will notice a difference and that feels GREAT!

When I just don't want plain water, I like to add a splash of lemon or lime juice, or a few pieces of frozen fruit (berries are great) for some flavour... plus it looks pretty ;)
-
heehee- some great ideas! I know there are tons of treats, and I'm willing to splurge a little, but I only want to eat them if they're worth it :) I'd heard the corn dogs are amazing and have wonderful memories of Dole Whip from last time I was there... looks like I definitely need a churro, too. Love those things! A side…

You need some great fitting jeans! You can dress them up or down (a nice blouse, a cardigan, a t-shirt and a fabulous scarf...). Window shop- critique the manequins- seriously, you'll get an idea what is in style and what you like. Shop around a bit (take a friend and try on all sorts of random clothes) and find a place…

I've been weighing myself twice a week... and recording it on mfp as well. I feel like it should be once a week, and it probably will be once my weight loss slows down, but I love seeing the numbers drop when I'm new to my program! I appreciate what people say about avoiding the scale, but I'm just too good at ignoring how…

I changed my settings to allow me higher protein & lower carbs. If they don't always match up, I'm not too worried about it... I also increased my fiber goals!

I'm on my third week as well, and down 12 lbs... when we make a major change to our calorie intake/eating habits we will see results (and larger numbers sooner when we have more to lose!). My advise... enjoy it, don't worry about it. Things will even out soon enough and you'll settle to an average of 1-2 lbs a week. Enjoy…

I can't be much help here... I only gained weight in college, so congrats for trying! I wanted to share a blog with you, though, because the author lost a lot of weight, much of it (maybe all) while in college. The links on the left side of the blog tell her story and it's pretty inspiring :)…

thanks for posting (and bumping) this recipe... looks very adaptable and sounds yummy! I'm gonna have to buy flax seed tomorrow...

Thank you to whomever bumped this up from November or whenever it started! I have a small pumpkin obsession LOL- here's my pinterest board about it (warning... they're not all healthy!) http://pinterest.com/ms_espresso/mr-pumpkin-head/

Who knows if the op is even following this post anymore... or if she made a decision. I know very little about these surgeries, but I do know that for myself, personally (who has more weight to lose than you do!), I could never do the surgery... never mind that it is dangerous and has a long recovery time, I just love food…

congratulations! You look great!

It's so great to get that sort of response from someone you haven't seen from a bit- Congrats! You are rocking the weight loss and you can be certain that others are noticing too :)

Wow, what an amazing change.... and what a fab place to take before/after photos! I'll be in Disneyland next week, gonna have to make a point to get some before photos, then plan a trip back for the after ones ;)

My protein shake of choice (Élance™ Frappé from Bodywise) has • 20 grams of protein • 22 vitamins and minerals • 130 calories • 5g carbohydrates • 2g fiber • 1g sugar • 0g trans fat I'm curious about the stats on other shakes!

one more hopeful bump...

Perpetually single.... yep, that's me! I'm 36 and have had one actual relationship (in college) and have been on one date since then, and a blind date at that! I would never classify myself as defective, though. I am not scarred, have no abuse in my past, I had a happy childhood and have wonderful parents, including a…

EAT! Make a list of 5 or 6 healthy (high protein & fiber whenever you can) snacks that are around 2-300 calories, and eat one of them every 2-3 hours. Don't give yourself a chance to get hungry. Find a good protein shake and work those in, as they can really help to fill you up- its also a great way to work more fruit into…
