I'm always happy to have new friends! Go ahead and add me :) My daily goal is 1500- though sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm under...

go ahead and eat more! You can manually adjust your calorie goal so it's higher than that- if you did well at 1400 or 1500, do that! 1200 is the lowest default mfp will give you, not many of us can do that long term!

You're looking fantastic! Congrats!

What a great idea!

Wow! I'm impressed, and kinda jealous... LOL but you're looking very good ;)

bumping for more ideas! If you don't want to click my link, my smoothie was: Banana Cinnamon Green Smoothie Recipe: Smoothie Author: Victoria – Green Plate Rule Prep time: 2 mins Cook time: 1 min Total time: 3 mins Serves: 1 – 2 Ingredients 1/4 cup milk (I prefer coconut or almond milk) 1 cup vanilla yogurt (I prefer…

Yeppers... at least when I've been honest, I'll know that the fact that the scale isn't moving is directly connected to all the crap I've eaten this week! It's also why I don't do a 'quick add calories' unless absolutely necessary.

You look fantastic, congrats! Amazing progress!

I'm hoping to get to a local butcher to pick up some beef jerky tomorrow... been craving it since I saw it here, but I just can't bring myself to buy the stuff at the grocery store when I look at the ingredient list! I also found a recipe for cocoa roasted almonds, which I hope to try out this weekend, but I love them…

I'm aiming for as little processed foods as possible- basically, in the grocery store I avoid the center aisles most of the time and focus on meat, dairy, fruit and veggies (with the occasional trip to the bakery). I'm not saying I'm eating clean 100%... but my goal is at least 80% of the time. I keep seeing more and more…

I did this years ago when I was on Weight Watchers- saw an article in a magazine that called it the 'Wendy plan' and it got my past a plateau, which was great. Of course, it didn't stick because my high days usually included junk food, etc. You wouldn't want to do this if you are set to 1200 calories a day, but if you up…

She has some great recipes, but uses way too much processed food for everyday eating for me! I do love to pull them out for a treat, or when I need an appy or have a craving, since her swaps are usually way lower calorie than the restaurant versions of things.

My initial goal is 100lbs... but I need to lose more than that to reach a 'healthy' BMI, feel free to add me! I'm a part of this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3322-100-pounds-with-no-surgery

What a great idea... I never thought to add protein powder to pudding! I often see it added to granola bars, etc. but I've been told not to heat my protein powder as it kills the nutrients in it. I think I'll make some pudding tonight :)
-
Bump for later- you guys are amazing!
-
I'd love to be friends with some of you, but no time to send requests now... feel free to send me some and I'll respond tonight when I have time :) 100lbs is my first BIG goal, but I'd like to lose another 30-40lbs after that... we shall see!

Those sound good... I wonder if I can find them in my small town/city in Canada ;) Some great ideas... keep em coming! Almonds are a go-to for me, I think I need to stock up again, though! And maybe look for some Cocoa roast ones (or find a recipe, perhaps?)

LOL That must be how she's doing it, cuz the smell of food just makes me hungrier...

If knowing that day is coming will help you eat healthy the rest of the month, I don't think it's a bad thing at all. I think you will notice that you want the cheat day less, though... and you'll definitely notice how different the fast food makes you feel!

Yep... especially if I'm eating wheat. I've heard its been genetically modified to make you crave it the more you eat. Don't know if it's true, but it sure could be! Same thing happens when I eat lots of sugar... both are definitely things I'm trying to avoid!

I agree- this is the best board ever! Love seeing everyones success!

Honestly, any sort of drastic change can help break a plateau. Some options you might try (probably not all at once, but who knows LOL) - eat more (add 300-400 calories to your day- just make sure it isn't junk!) - eat more fiber (veggies, beans, whole grains...) - stop eating wheat - eliminate processed foods - eliminate…

Very interesting topic, I've been hearing a lot about eating higher calories and changed my goal to lose 1.5lbs a week instead of 2, which is much better... haven't been at that long enough to see the results, though. Question- when you decide to up your calories, do you change your settings to reflect that number? I've…
-
Um... wow. One of those connections I never made! LOL. duh!
-
I'm glad you're here :) Seems like all my other 'real life' weight loss buddies have dropped off... welcome!
-
Again, looking at your diary... if the calories you have set are for maintenance, with the amount you are eating (I looked back about 2 weeks) you will maintain (plateau) at best, and I know if it were me, I would gain. If you've been doing the same thing (just adjusting calorie numbers) and it's not working, it's worth it…

WOW! I'm so proud of you for sticking to it over the years, it's amazing and you look fantastic! Congrats & THANK YOU for sharing your story!
-
Um, yeah! That's a huge difference! Amazing how much bigger your eyes look :)

Wow- you look fantastic! What a transformation! Congrats :drinker:
