  • I just finished the program last night! I kind of figured it out along the way. I did some segments on the treadmill which gave me a clear picture of time/distance/calorie burn. When I ran outside I calculated time spent running + time spent walking and created my own exercise. It worked out well. Good luck with the…

  • ^^^my first thought exactly
  • Calories in - Calories out: put less calories in and more calories out. It IS that simple.
  • So many great ideas! I just wanted to chime in my experience... I am temporarily living with my inlaws' 2BR apt with my two boys (4yr & 18mo) while my husband is away for work. I'm taking advantage of their fitness center almost every night after the kids go to sleep. The in-laws hardly ever leave the apartment, so that…
  • Having never smoked, I can not relate to quitting but ^^^ I couldn't have said this better myself...
  • Probably about five years ago when I would come across people who didn't understand why marrying someone named "Don Johnson" was kinda funny... which I did...about six and a half years ago.
  • Yeah! I think we all need this. My awesomes are totally unrelated to fitness: This morning I gave this crazy old (harmless )woman in my in-laws' apartment complex a ride to Walmart. And this afternoon I tried to donate platelets, but my iron level failed me. Next week I will try again. And tonight, I make delicious stuffed…
  • Sounds like it was made for you and yours. Hopefully you'll be able to breathe a long sigh of relief after this LAST move. Tell the kiddo to hang in there and pet the pooch for me. We're goin' through it too... Hey, I'll help you move if you come help me when it's our turn...
  • My eyes just about bugged out of my head when I read that his feet turn purple and my shaking head agreed vigorously with those who encourage him to SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION NOW! Continue to lead by example but try not to be an enabler. I am definitely not one to talk because I walk my walk, but constantly have to push…
  • I always like people to ask me "What are you doing to lose weight?!" I like the idea that I can impart the notion that they too can do it! And also educate that it's not a magic pill or diet. Simple calories in, calories out, movin' the a** God gave me...
  • Take responsibility and be part of the solution to fix it.
  • You had better be proud of yourself! That is amazing!!! You must feel so good. I hope you look at those pictures often to remind yourself how far you've come and think about how good you feel knowing it will just get better and better. GO YOU!!!
  • I run loops. Depending on how I feel that day and how the run feels when I start, the loop gets bigger or smaller. I have a loop in the woods around the outside of the apartment complex that's a little better than a mile long. How sweet is that?!!? Plus, I use MapMyRun and Walk Tracker apps for the iPhone.
  • I give a pretty mean massage. I've got a table, a body cushion and everything - just no training or license...
  • You even LOOK healthy! I hope you're feeling as good as you look! Excellent progress - stick with it! I know you can!!!
  • Bring It On!!!
  • Now I know why I never added this activity to my exercise diary... Plus, if I did, I'm afraid it would become painfully obvious just how infrequently we participate in said activity. HOWevahhh, as the pounds are dropped, so shall be the pants... bow chicka wowow...
  • Outstanding! Thanks for sharing your success with us! Totally inspiring!
  • It's all about balance baby! I would reiterate so much of what has already been said, but why? Just know that you won't "ruin" everything by having another glass of wine or a baby Snickers...especially if you do Crossfit later in the day. You're just adding more fuel on which to fire. So do an extra set of something...…
  • First thought : ew... Then I thought, you know, I wear my jog bras twice before I wash them - especially if it was an inside workout... I wouldn't wear an item more than twice. On one hand, wearing your stinkies around others isn't terribly considerate, but on the other hand, I can't stand working out next to people who…
  • I'm afraid I would need to see the room to make a proper assesment...
  • Great results!!! That should keep you going!
  • I gotta give props to the Couch to 5K program. I'm almost done with it and I LOVE IT!!! I went to a reputable running shoe store and had them scrutinize my gait to recommend the best shoe. I only wear Saucony now.
  • Lookit you Hottie McHottness!! Thanks for the inspiration. And hold on to your good habits while you still have the advantage of youth! They will carry you through life...
  • My goal every day is to spread joy. Today Joy was brought to me. Thank you for the inspiration - SO proud of you!!!
  • CONGRATULATIONS!! So proud of you for kicking smoking! I'm with you on the running/jogging progress, but without the breathing issues... I never smoked, so I've never had to quit, BUT I'm cutting back on the caffeine (which makes me waaay less *****y) AND i accepted the No Alocohol in August Challenge... So I have my own…
  • Mad props to YOU!!! And thank you for the link to where I can get one and join in your success! Do you want to share it here for the folks at home?
  • OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one! Totally engrossed and involved. But it's working!!!
  • Uh oh... I feel like you're talking to me... I challenged another fitness pal: if she reached her ridiculous calorie burn this weekend, I'd give up the sauce for a week. Now I feel your challenge...and I'm compelled to take it! Here'goes! let's do it!
