  • Thanks so much for posting this! I have 60 down with 20 to go, or 30 depending on what looks right, and I have only managed to get myself back on track in the last few weeks after a good three months of slacking off. It's hard to stay super motivated about just the one thing constantly, with work and stress and also the…
  • Another vote for wine. Delicious, delicious wine.
  • Every 15-20lbs lost. I feel like for about a year I have been constantly standing in front of my wardrobe shouting 'I HAVE NO CLOTHES!!'. Which is a fabulous complaint! Although not easy on the pockets. :)
  • Breakfast: Tuna Salad. I make it myself in batches (tuna, red bell pepper, sweetcorn, baby potatoes, full fat mayo, wholegrain mustard = 265 cals per serving Lunch: Pre-made salad e.g. Marks & Spencer Quinoa & Edamame, bulked out with a little serving of protein, eg prawns or calamari rings = 433 cals Mid-afternoon Snack:…
  • With 4 workouts a week your Gross should probably be closer to 1500 a day to NET 1200. Are you eating back your exercise cals?
  • Well done! I do think it all depends on whether you eat back your exercise calories, I had my head wrecked over it until I realised that 1230 NET + eating back all my exercise calories brings me to almost the exact same place as the TDEE way, circa 1650 GROSS. Do whatever works for you, but if you are doing the MFP circa…
  • Look at your calories over the course of the week rather than at just one day. I calorie cycle so I can splurge at the weekends (still on healthy-ish stuff, just higher calories, or have a few drinks). Hasn't impeded me at all. Down 58lbs in just over a year. Enjoy your noms!
  • I've lost 56lbs in the past year and I'm still drinking red wine. I don't really drink during the week any more, and if I do I try to have something lower calorie like a whiskey and diet coke or two, but I probably drink a bottle of red most weekends. Juts make sure it fits into your calories for the week.
  • I don't see why if you can log a brisk walk to work you cannot log a brisk walk to the shopping centre? If your activity level is set as Sedentary and you are following the MFP system you should be careful to log any kind of significant physical activity to make sure you're eating enough. If you're doing the Road Map /…
  • Another eat less, move more proponent here - it really is the only way. I'm nearly 50lbs down now, after 7.5 months, the next 30-40lbs will be much slower but I'll get there hopefully by the end of next year. And to maintain that magical 130lb goal weight I will have to eat the way I eat right now for the rest of my life.…
  • I'm 5' 1" and my goal is currently set at 140 which I hope to reach by my birthday near the end of March 2013. I think I will set myself a further challenge to get to 125 after that though.
  • I agree with some of this, you'll note my next sentence was: But I think as a society we have become confused about what "average" women weigh, or ought to weigh. I am currently somewhere between a UK 16 and a 14 (US 12 and 10) and I'm still technically in the obese bracket even though I don't look enormous. Granted I'm…
  • I think labeling fat people as disabled is misappropriating an already very loaded term. I also don't buy into 'fat as a feminist issue'. This paper is pretty old and the arguments about society the author is making about how fat people are ostracised have gone almost completely the other way. Now we have shops proudly…
  • Always Jameson or Jack Daniels and diet coke, apart from the very occasional cocktail. And good red wine in restaurants.
  • I think that depends on placement, I have a big one on my leg (from about mid shin all the way down my ankle and onto my foot) and it's moved about an inch around my leg since I've lost 44lbs in the last 7 months. I kind of love it - it's a visible confirmation of how much I've done. It hasn't retracted/distorted the image…
  • I eat 1200 a day plus most of my exercise calories (started a little higher but have been on 1200 NET for several months now) and have been losing weight steadily since the second week of January this year. I've lost 44lbs so far and am still losing at a steady rate of 1-1.5lbs per week. I am 5'1 and started at 220lbs, now…
