  • For me, two servings of egg whites with fat free cheese most mornings. I control diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol through diet so I can stay off meds. I am also vegetarian and get some of my daily protein from egg whites. YMMV. Plus, whole eggs make me fart and that is just not nice coming from an old lady.
  • I had to quite reading - too much hateful stuff from people who don't know what they are talking about - and just answer the question. I had the sleeve surgery 15 months ago. Best decision ever in my life. I have PCOS - never could lose weight, just gain. Finally, when reached 280, with the prospect of gaining the usual 10…
  • Hello - 56 here. Looking forward to 57. Feeling better right now than I have in more than 25 years.
  • Just one of the reasons why I usually don't post in the forums on this message board. If it is working for some people, then it is no more nonsense than what is working for you.
  • Smooth Move Tea before bedtime helped me out when I wasn't able to eat enough fiber to keep things moving normally. It comes in regular and chocolate and can be found in the fancy tea, or health food, or organic food section of your grocery store. About 250 mg magnesium daily (in pill form) helps keep me regular now. I…
  • You sound as if you are having some postpartum depression too. Might want to talk with your doctor about that. Hope you feel better soon. Healthy isn't a number on a scale.
  • What I find rude are the people who ask me how much weight I've lost. When did manners go out the window? There are some things polite adult people don't ask one another - how much they weigh, how old they are, how much money they make being among those things. If people choose to share that information with each other,…
  • When your fiber is limited due to diet and/or WLS, Smooth Move Tea is very helpful. Otherwise, try to get in more fiber and water and eat less starchy foods. Before WLS, I used to get in a minimum of 25 grams fiber every day to help control blood sugar and to be regular. Now I rely on Smooth Move Tea and days with as much…
  • I consider myself warned. Thanks.
  • The worst thing I ever heard was said by a co-worker that I had some respect for. She was standing in the front office, talking with several other co-workers, and talking about someone else that worked in our organization. She was saying that person was a "sub-standard" person because they were fat. That same co-worker…
  • Back in the old days I really liked some of the frozen dinners marketed as healthy. I look at them occasionally now as they would be easier and offer more variety to my diet. However, they are generally too high in carbs and sodium for me. I control my blood sugar and blood pressure through diet and exercise so the sodium…
  • I don't know if it is the beginning but I can testify that it certainly isn't the end. I think the beginning for me was when I finally realized I'd done everything society had conditioned me to believe I was supposed to do and started doing what I wanted to do. But, yeah, 40 is a very good year. I'd do it again.
  • Hello. Sending a friend request in just a sec. Friends are good!
  • Congratulations to you on your successes. You really do look fabulous.
  • Thanks - those recipes will be great for this summer when it is too hot to eat and all I will really want is some ice cream. Hmmm.... now to find a good ice cream maker that will make other frozen goodies.
  • An Irish Setter and a dozen Krispy Creme donuts. I was wondering what happened to those donuts.
  • I'm not a snacker and I'm still in the losing phase after having the gastric sleeve surgery done in December. Calories aren't the issue for me but sodium, carbs, sugars, and fats are. I keep sugar free popsickles, sugar free jello, and sugar free pudding cups in the fridge for those times when I need something to eat late…
  • That loose skin looks worse to you than it does to me. You look really good and I can tell you've really worked at it. Congratulations on your accomplishment. You did a really good job.
  • I think you look great. You've really changed your look and you look pleased and confident. That is awesome.
