  • Tesco does have quinoa. They also have black beans, but not tinned. They call them black turtle beans, sometimes. If you have a Morrison's near you, they have tinned black beans(85 p a can where I am, in North Wales, it's an organic brand) as well as quinoa. Tesco has quinoa on the grocery website, and I assume yours would…
  • Dear boyfriend: I am sad you are away, and I miss you. I understand that you are coming back with your father in tow and would like for the house to be tidy. That being said, you could have helped a little before you left. And as much as I love your homebrewing hobby, I do not love the huge cache of beer bottles that…
  • You should check out this website: http://www.mybodygallery.com/ you can enter height/weight and see a bunch of different pictures of women who are there. For what it's worth, everyone carries weight a little differently, and you won't know for sure until your individual body is there!
  • I personally step on the scale every morning. That being said, I only officially 'record' my weight once a week on my calendar. On here, if I weigh in the same three days in a row, it gets updated. I like weighing every day, since it keeps me mindful of my weight. I don't get bothered by a bit of fluctuation, since it's…
  • Use the brand name, or, if they're homemade, use a recipe.
  • I think we all need the reminder that you can't actually target individual areas. You can always work on firming up your muscles, but to get those muscles to how, we have to drop fat! You can't tell your body to lose fat from specific areas, and first on tends to be last off. That being said, you can get those muscles…
  • In terms of actual medical studies, glucosamine/condroitin have had no demonstrable results, though many people swear by it. There have been a few small studies that show some positive results, but nothing larger scale. The thing that will help the most is losing weight and using gentle exercise that doesn't stress your…
  • I'm 5'3.75, and my current goal is to get down to 130(154.5 as of this morning). 24.5 pounds feels totally do able. When I get there, I will reevaluate, as I think(with my very small frame) I should be about 120. So, that's the 'pie in the sky' goal, which will get reevaluated once I get down to goal number one. If I look…
  • I make tuna salad with tinned kidney beans in it. For half a tin of each(with a bunch of crunchy veggies thrown in, no mayo and a bit of dijon mustard) you get 29 grams of protein and 12 g of fibre. Plus, it only hits you with about 200 calories, depending on which veggies you use. Tinned beans are incredibly cheap. You…
  • If you're coming in low on protein and fat, and going low carb, where are you getting your calories from? I would recommend upping your protein if youcan. I really good(and low calorie) way of getting some protein is having a tuna salad at lunch. I make mine with a can kidney beans, a can of tuna, some chopped onion(or…
  • (Also in the UK) It depends on the size of your boobs, but I'm not *that* big on top(34C/D), and I find a sports bra absolutely necessary, at least on my longer runs. I don't think it would be too bad on the first few weeks of C25K, but when you get to be running 20 minutes or so straight, you will probably need one. I…
  • Yeah, as you lose weight, you're closer to your goal weight. If you're losing quicker than predicted, it will want you to lose less quickly to reach goal by the selected date. Thus it can bump things up. But seriously, a 1200 calorie minimum is what most doctors and websites would recommend.
