I've been doing rows and bench press. I've also been doing the Leg Press, is that equivalent to the deadlift? Or should I do deadlift instead? I'll for sure begin incorporating squats too!

No, heavy is good. lift free weights, be awesome*. I just started lifting this week, and it is hard, but you push through the pain and even feeling the ache from pushing your muscles makes you feel amazing. I never want to stop now!!

Today, I had to make my HRM a tiny bit tighter. I went for a jog/run (rare for me) and pushed myself to burn 427 calories. I'm feeling strong and awesome from weight training!

I just started lifting this week, I'm starting with 2 times a week through my Universities gym class. This is my routine for the next 3-4 weeks then we'll switch it up. I have not experienced this at all, my mood and confidence has definitely improved. I agree with other people, check out your diet, are you eating enough? Eating enough carbs may be an issue. Eat whole grain breads, and brown rice.

That doesn't sound like an over estimate. Sometimes I burn 80 calories in 6-8 minutes. It really just depends on how hard you push yourself. As for after burn, I usually stop my HRM once my heart rate gets to 100. A GOOD HRM is hard to come by for only $40. I bought a Polar FT4 for about $70 and it's awesome and reliable (…

I just log it under cardio. I use my HRM and today I burned 511 calories with a 10 min. cardio warm up and 40 minutes of strength training. It burns a lot!

I want my waist to be smaller and my tummy to be tighter. I can feel my strong abdominal muscles underneath, I just need to get this damned layer of fat off! Weight training starts Tuesday so maybe my wish will come true....with hard work and dedication at the gym!!
