  • I'm lucky that my girl likes to "offload" at the beginning of an outing, and usually right under the bin bless her. But if she goes somewhere en route, I just pick it up, tie it up, and yes, if necessary I will put it in a pocket until I come across a bin! :embarassed: I personally prefer that to holding a swinging bag as…
  • I am in totally the same place, and my plan is to continue to plan, so my next run on moday I'll be doing week 6 run 3 :) I have decided I will only ever repeat a day if I can't complete it, so hard as it was, seeing as I completed w6r2, I will be moving on :) Good luck!
  • Ok, so now that's out of your system, stop and think for a second to answer me this: What CAN you eat? What are your goals and what is your intake like atm? By knowing this (especially the stuff that you can eat!) we can all help out my suggesting recipes and tweaks you can make to your food diary that should hopefully…
  • I wear a lightweight bodywarmer, and take my keys (so I can get back in the house lol), my mobile in case of emergency, and my mp3 player for my podcast (in the midst of c25k!). And doggy poo bags, cos I usually take my jrt running with me
  • No word of a lie, it tastes like semi-liquid cadbury easter eggs. It is amazing. It had better not be a fad that they stop making!
  • My current fix is a ryvita multigrain with about 15 of chocolate philadelphia spread on it *drool*. I have noticed that since I've changed my eating habits, and don't binge out on sweet and processed things, I actually crave them much less. I would highly recommend getting out of the "getting a fix" cycle if you can,…
  • Apologies if I missed it somewhere, but how long have you been at it, and what are your stats (height, starting/current weight, goal weight)? Is cycling an option? It's good cardio but low impact.
  • Thanks guys! Amazing how being able to turn down a 300cal croissant makes me feel better than recording an 8lb weightloss lmao!
  • I prefer to keep myself set to sedentary so I can log my exercises and keep track of my "efforts", I find that more motivating. I think that if I set myself to a higher activity level, I'd find it too easy to not exercise and therefore have my numbers wrong!
  • Keep it up, and go as slow as you like! I'm now in week 6, and can't believe the fitness changes I've had! Weightloss wise I've lost about 8lb since starting c25k, but I won't give it all the credit, as my eating is greatly improved as well (thanks MFP!) Last night I was picking up a bike from 2 towns over (4k away from my…
  • And that for me was the proof that you shouldn't be in this relationship. Yes it's hard, but there are ways and means of getting out and making a fresh start. Relationships shouldn't be about being stuck with someone, they are something that are entered into, and kept in, by two consenting individuals. As soon as being…
  • Ok, 1) I haven't read everyone elses replies, but I'll go back to the thread shortly :) 2) I can tell you, from experience, that if all he wants to do is argue, one day, sooner or later, this isn't going to work out. I was where you are. I didn't want to throw a year away, then two then 5... after 9 years I finally was…
  • I'm pretty sure I'm recommending this post and its awesome advice to everyone that wants to hear me bleat on about c25k, running and all that goes with :)
  • cous cous, with mushrooms, red onion and tomatoes, and a splat of low fat cottage cheese on the side (check my diary from yesterday, it was nommy!)
  • Only one of the pics matching my bodyshape, height and weight range looked even remotely like me :/
  • Nah they're still all about Wimpy in Africa! Serving sizes over there are much bigger as well from what I remember!
  • It's a very good workout, and to a certain extent works on most of your body I would say, though obviously mostly calves and probably glutes. My advice is whatever you do, DON'T skip on grass! I did this when I first started skipping and got really disheartened because I kept tripping on the rope - turns out the rope was…
  • I'm doing wii zumba and my fitness coach. I love the fitness coach for the vaiety, and dare I say it, but I am actually starting to enjoy the zumba as well. I don't have the silly belt as I borrowed the game from my sis, so I just chuck the wiimote in my pocket - I don't always score so well as it's not great at picking up…
  • From what I gather, calorie burns on hrms are only accurate for aerobic exercise as the formulas used draw a direct correlation between heartrate and oxygen intake, so if you're doing something that puts your hr up but you're not actually doing cardio based exercising (for example you might be sitting in a sauna - your hr…
  • Ok, so lets look at you through another persons eyes - mine for instance :) You've already lost 41lb - I would currently love to have such an achievement under my (tighter) belt! I had a peek around your diary and there's several days where you're netting WAAAY unter 1000 calories as well. At this point in your journey it…
  • They already told me they wouldn't let me in on account of how awesome I am ;)
  • hmm they don't quite count as thigh material either lol! More like... Butt-thigh perhaps! But I have just discovered something wonderful, and that is our dear MFP once more accomodates by letting us put in custom measurements - so now my saddlebags can have their own measurements, and my hips are allowed to be hips :)
  • so what did you do to see the changes?
  • I'm not a fan of the protein bars, they taste great but I'd eat half a dozen in a row if I could! Nuts and seeds are working really well for me, I find that a small portion consisting of cashews, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and 3-4 dried prunes will keep me full and running for several hours without bringing on hunger.…
  • The knee support I bought is adjustable - and I have fat knee syndrome to match my fat thighs and cankles, and I can get it on - the neoprene is stretchy to a certain degree and it just velcroes on - you can always take it out of the packet and try it on over your trousers in Boots, that's what I did :) It does restrict…
  • This was me the other day! But my story ended by stomping back upstairs, stealing the Mans Ipod, then infecting it with my c25k podcasts and stomping back out to resume running. Go me :)
  • I was also surprised at how helpful it is having friends to cheer you on, it's made my whole outlook on this weightloss / getting healthy thing totally different if I'm honest! There is so much support in this place, and having friends to cheer on - and cheering you on - makes logging in and being accountable for all the…
  • Sounds very similar to my knee worries (osteochondritis as a child, hit by a car aged 12, a few mishaps around horses :blushing: ). Aside from the usual disclaimer / advice of "I am not a doctor blah blah" these are the things that I find help me: anti-inflammatories. I have prescription strength naproxen, which although…
  • all I would say is if you miss a session, make sure your next run is picking up from where you left off, not where you "should" be timewise. So if week 3 you only do 1 run, on week 4 you should still be doing the other 2 runs from week 3, not skipping ahead. And it may mean you feel you need to repeat a couple of runs to…
