  • I am the mom and full time caregiver to a 21 y/o son with a form of Muscular Dystrophy and epilepsy.
  • I joined WW on Jan 5th of this year and started MFP at the same time. I've lost 62 lbs in that time and am now on the maintenance part of my weight loss journey. I chose to go to meetings because I needed the accountability and am already fairly isolated because besides being the mom and I am also the full time caregiver…
  • My daughter is about that size and bought a sports bra at Victoria Secret and she loves it.
  • I haven't hit this type of plateau but I would suggest you take a look at your food journaling -- are you being honest with yourself? Is that really 1 Tbsp of cream in your coffee? Is that really 3 oz of chicken? Did I eat 12 tortilla chips or 20? Did I walk at a 4 mph pace or was it more like 3 mph? Are you getting enough…
  • I've lost 60 lbs since January by just watching what I eat (I'm doing Weight Watchers) and walking. My husband and I have just recently gotten our bikes out and fixed up to start riding. I try and walk everyday, but I have a son with a form of Muscular Dystrophy and epilepsy so it doesn't always go the way I want it to. A…
  • I started at a 16W/18W in January of this year and am now a 10/12 (M/L in t-shirts). My profile pic is a before and current.
  • You can buy individual cups of cottage cheese that are great with both fruit and veggies. Those sandwich slims are great for a quick sandwich and take up less room than a loaf of bread, I like the orowheat ones the best. Have a great trip!
  • Feeling more comfortable in my own skin, having more energy, not cringing when I see a picture of myself, new clothes and not shopping in the plus size dept anymore.
  • I use the nike + and the foot pod with my ipod nano (4th generation) , I also have a pouch for my shoe since I don't have nike shoes. I calibrated mine and it seems to be pretty accurate, at least for my needs. It seems to spur us on to walk a little further and faster. I like plugging it in to the nike + site and seeing…
  • I like a tbsp or two of 2% cottage cheese scrambled in mine with some red pepper and spinach.
  • This is a stove top recipe: http://www.thebittenword.com/thebittenword/2009/01/overnight-oatmeal-quick-cook-steelcut-oats-in-10-minutes.html
  • Being the full time mom and caregiver to a 21 y/o son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and epilepsy I work out when I can. I got my weights done today and hopefully will get a walk or bike ride later, if not I refuse to feel guilty about it.
  • My mom passed away in 1996 after a 2 year battle with Colon cancer. I still miss her every day.
  • I eat the 2% because I really don't care for the 0% at all.
  • I eat the plain Fage 2% with honey, fresh fruit and sliced almonds or Alpen Muelsi and it tastes great. The Trader Joe's 2% is really good also. I tried the fat free and I just couldn't get used to the texture and the flavor.
  • I like them baked/microwaved with just a tsp of light butter and a sprinkling of cayenne pepper. Mashed is good also. Here is a sweet potato "fries' recipe: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/spicy-sweet-potato-wedges-10000000701068/
  • Weight Watchers Cheesy Chili-Mac: http://www.weightwatchers.com/food/rcp/RecipePage.aspx?recipeId=95081 It is in the MFP database. I used the Barilla plus elbow macaroni to add some more fiber.
  • Go slow, especially if you drink the caffeinated versions. I found it was the fizz I missed, not the taste, so try substituting fizzy water (mineral or seltzer). You can buy flavored or just buy plain and add a slice or two of lemon, lime or orange. Perrier makes a great pink grapefruit flavored mineral water.
  • Hi, I'm 53 and on Jan 5th I started this journey with 55-60 lbs to lose. As of Thursday I have lost 30.4 so I am half way there! I am doing Weight Watchers with a couple of friends from church and using MFP along with it.
  • To get MPH you divide the distance in miles by the time in hours: 2.2 miles / 0.58 hours = 3.79 MPH To get your pace (minutes per mile) you would divide the time in minutes by the distance: 35 minutes/2.2 miles = 15.9 minutes/mile, you could also divide 60 by 3.79 to get the pace. Good Pace!
  • Here is a you tube site with good instructional weight training videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1qLRlpxqwM
  • I live with ear issues that affect my balance. Try some Bonine or non-drowsy Dramamine, as long as it has meclizine as its active ingredient. I hope it is just a temporary effect of the meds.
  • I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease in the early 1990's and take replacement medication. I guess I used it as an excuse until January. Since January 5th of this year I've lost 26 lbs and it has come off fairly steadily. I do walk at least 30 minutes 4 to 5 days a week and try to make one or two of those walks a full…
  • The only supplement I took while breastfeeding was prenatal vitamins. I will say that my youngest will be turning 21 next week, so it has been awhile. I just tried to eat healthy and drink lots of water. I nursed exclusively for the first 6 months and nursed for about 1 year with each of them. I did have to stop eating…
  • I've been doing both. I started them both about the same time and since January 5th I've lost 18.4 pounds. The ww is working for me and it is interesting to see the points vs. calories picture. There are time when I have used up my points but still have calories. I think that is due to the fact hat as you lose, you get…
  • I believe we got engaged after about 6 or 8 months of dating and got married about 6 months later. We were both 24 when we got married and that was 28 years and 3 kids ago.
