I get at least 108 oz (my water bottle x4) of pure water everyday. The more you drink it the more you'll crave it, and I have found my body adjusted and I don't need to pee as often anymore. It's really difficult to have TOO much water, and I've found only good things from drinking more.

I can second the Nutribullet from personal experience. I use it for all sorts of stuff, including nuts. My mom also has the Ninja and it's great as well.

What the above poster said. I also found the quality of the clothes to be somewhat lacking. I really like Wantable - they have a few different boxes they do, including a fitness one. This one works a bit differently, similar to a StitchFix or Trunk Club model if you're familiar with those. Basically you pay a $20 styling…

I've just restarted after a few years of slacking. This time around, I've lost five lbs in 8 weeks, though my exercise regimen is focused on building strength, so to that end I've lost 7 lbs body fat and gained 4 lbs in muscle (according to my scale and rough math). I've also had quite a few over eating days that I'm still…

Yeaaaa I don't think you're an alcoholic either. Calories from alcohol add up quick and it's easy to do a lot of damage in one day, never mind a whole weekend. I work in the beer industry and am just trying to cut back on having a beer every day. It just comes down to daily choices - do I want a burrito or a salad + a beer…

I just wanted to quickly nix the common misconception that Guinness is "heavy" or high calorie. It's only about 124 calories a pint and one of the lowest calorie beers you can find, plus it actually has some health benefits similar to red wine that liquor doesn't. It's actually a great low cal choice when drinking. The…

Are you tracking other factors such as body fat and/or inches? The closer you get to your goal, the harder/slower it can be to lose weight. And especially if you're building muscle, you might be getting smaller even though you're weight stays the same. Why is your goal 130? Sometimes it helps to set goals around other…

Haha yea just a bit. I homebrew, work at a beer store and am working on starting a brewpub. I have a full cellar, a fridge full of beer, and two kegs in a kegerator. And I keep buying more. I'm a beer hoarder. Try to limit myself to one a day, and bank calories for days when I have more. Also not above skimping on meals to…

I LOVE Aveda. It's been the only thing I've found that has completely cleared up my skin. It's a bit pricey but their products tend to last awhile. If you're interested I'd recommend going to one of their salons if you have them near you and getting recommendations based on your skin type. I thought mine was oily - turns…

Well, I mean, it IS beer. It's an American light lager, which is what all that Budweiser, Coors, Miller stuff is. A lager is a completely legitimate type of beer - it's made with a different type of yeast that ferments at colder temperatures. The thing is that Budweiser and the like are made with mostly adjuncts like corn…

If I really need something low cal I get a Guinness. It's about 125. And whatever it is about red wine that's good for you, Guinness is the same way. Calories in beer are determined by sugar and alcohol levels. A big malty beer then (think a barley wine, dunkelweizen) is going to have more calories than an american pale.…

Right now the way you are cutting calories is a complete shock to your system - that's why you're seeing a big loss. Depending on how much you were overeating before, you'd probably see a big loss if you were eating at 1200-1500 too. Eating all your calories is important for sustainable, consistent losses. If you severely…

Don't feel you're too big/out of shape to work out!! If anything, the more out of shape you are the more progress you'll see cause your body has farther to go. My sister is about your weight and she runs, lifts weights, swims - she just had to find what she enjoys and stick with it. The best way to stay motivated is to…

I get a gallon everyday. During my recovery weeks I push 200 oz a day. I think I've heard your kidneys can process up to quart an hour no problem.

Thanks! I linked to my blog in the OP for my long drawn out explanation but the short of it is that I've been running 3-4 days/week on specific training plans, doing Jillian Michael's DVDs in the morning 5-6 days/week, plus walking my dog for 30-60 mins every day. Food-wise I eat back my exercise calories, try to get at…

As far as the scales go - pretty sure they use some sort of electromagnetic current based on the fact that the current moves differently through bone, muscle, fat and water (mine measures these four percentages) Though if you google body fat percentage, you can find calculator based on your measurements.

I'm planning an oatmeal feast on Saturday :) Fresh fruit (peach slices, rasberries) Nuts (walnuts) Seeds (flax) Dairy (mascarpone) That's my plan but you could go all over the place if you get creative with those categories. Think papaya, blueberries, pecans, roasted almonds, shredded coconut, pumpkin seeds, yogurt, creme…
