  • This post made me think of a conference that I went to where the speaker was Bob from "The Biggest Loser". He was talking about how vegetables are so good, but yet we don't even know what a real vegetable tastes like because we smother it in all these different ingredients. And when I thought of my own life, he was right!…
  • I always go by my HRM. Your monitor is situated along your chest and counts your heart beats per minutes which is way more accurate than my fitness pal. Depending on peoples weights, fitness levels, etc they will burn different amounts of calories for the same exercise. What MFP gives you is an estimate based on what most…
  • I'm not sure if Arbys would be the best choice for a sandwich, but I don't think sandwiches are bad at all for you as long as you don't slab on the mayo. For lunch occaisonally I'll have a sandwhich using 45 calorie sara lee multigrain bread, mustard, and some type of low sodium deli meat, and I'll put some spinach or…
  • My biggest annoyance at the gym are the boys, yes thats probably you, who stare at women in the free weights room. I've come up with a variety of reasons why this may be occurring: 1. Are they checking me out? Because if they are thats disgusting considering I am sweating from head to toe and smell somewhat gross. 2. Are…
  • I forget what kind it is (helpful I know), but it's the box that says Energy on it. I love it because it gives me the boost of energy I need during my day.
  • Good luck! I found that for me the intensity of the workout was too much to do every single day. So I would do one day Insanity, the next at the gym (doing cardio on the elliptical and free weight), the next day insanity, and the next day P90x cardio. The p90x cardio still burns calories and your working hard, but it isn't…
  • I went over and I don't feel guilty at all. It's just one day and I know that if I deprive myself of chocolate I'm just going to binge at some point. Tomorrow is a new day!
  • I either put in diced apples or bananas prior to cooking it. Once it is cooked, I add in lots of cinnamon and two packets of truvia sweetener and it's really good!

  • Sodium is 590 which is a little high, but its only 1/5 my total allotted sodium for the day so I don't think it's too terrible. It's worth it for the taste!
  • Find new recipes and get excited about trying them! I find that I am most likely to pre-plan my meal and stick with it when I am excited about what I am going to be eating. For instance, I saw a mini-recipe (2 ingredients) for yogurt and pomegranates! It sounded so good so that night I made up three containers of yogurt…
  • I do weigh myself every morning and I love it. If I increased, it motivates me to work extra hard that day. If I decreased, it makes me happy that I lost weight and it motivates me to keep doing what I'm doing. Either way, its a win-win!
  • I definitely used up all my calories (and went a big over). I had two reces's peanut butter cups, a fun size heath bar, and a fun size packet of raisinettes...AND THEY WERE FABULOUS!!! No guilt here!
  • With a B.S. in biology, this is what I think: Yes, you burn calories when you digest food and many of the foods listed were low in calories, resulting in some caloric deficit taking place. However, many of the foods listed have a high water content which means that you will feel full after eating them but that fullness…
  • Exercising while pregnant is very healthy and its encouraged by many doctors. Not only does it better prepare you for labor and delivery, but it is thought that exercising during pregnancy helps with weight loss after pregnancy. However, your goal should not be to lose weight. The weight gained during pregnancy is a…
  • I heard that it helps boost metabolism but I'm not sure if thats true...
  • I cant even walk down the chip aisle anymore, it's way too tempting...
  • i needed that.
  • In my opinion, it's all about what kinds of fat you take in. If your fat is healthy fat (from almonds (nuts in general), flax seed, olive oil, fish, etc) then I would say that going over isnt a big deal. But if all your fat intake is from cookies, icecream, fried foods (i'm so guilty of these things!) then I would try to…
  • In my opinion 1000 may be too many calories for your meal (even if it was a buffet) but in my mind, it is better to over-estimate than under-estimate!
  • I am currently taking oxy elite pro. I had never taken a weight loss pill before but my husband who is in the air force got it for himself at GNC and I decided to try it with him. I have only found great reviews on it which were honest about possible side effects. I have lost 6 pounds in three weeks and my husband has lost…
  • My breakfast meal takes me 4 minutes to make and its wonderful! While toasting a whole weat with flax seed english muffin, I pour 1/2 cup egg whites into a warm pan (add lots of ms. dash seasonings and pepper, NO salt) and let it cook. I usually turn the egg after 1 1/2 minutes onto the other side to cook. When the egg…
  • It most likely does help reduce some of sodium from the soup. However, experts say that soup is so good for weight loss because of the broth. The broth makes you feel fuller because you're taking in additional liquid. For me, I would rather take the sodium as it is and feel fuller longer than cut back on my sodium and want…
  • Don't take this the wrong way, but your butt/thighs look great! Hopefully one day mine will look like that :-) Congratulations on your weight loss!
  • Today there was a couple on ellipticals next to each other and they were arguing the whole time over whose turn it was to take out the trash. I almost peed my pants listening to their conversation...
  • Frozen grapes are amazing!
  • I have many weaknesses when it comes to food (starbucks, chedder and sour cream chips, chocolate...you get the point) but my biggest weakness is taco bell. When I'm wrestling with myself about whether or not want that junky food, i take out my iphone and find the calories and fat content of that particular item. For…
  • I eat my calories if I'm hungry. For instance, tonight I really wanted icecream so I dipped into my exercise calories, ate my icecream, and didn't feel the least bit of guilt. However, I don't eat those calories just to eat the calories, especially if I know I'm not hungry. Although it's important not to eat too few…
  • I have a Timex heart rate monitor that I got from Target online. It wasn't too expensive (around $50) and its very easy to use! It tracks time, calories burned, average HR, time in target zone, etc. The only thing is that the watch itself runs small. I'm a petite woman (5'1), at 136 pounds and it fits great. But I'm not…
  • My husband and I make smoothies as our low calorie snack at night while we are watching a movie. in a blender you mix 1/2 cup ice, 1/2 cup light and fit strawberry yogurt, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, and 1/4 cup raspberries. Add 1/2 cup or more water and blend. It is so good with no fat (as long as you…
