So you don't have an oven--what do you have? I'm a small appliance freak in the kitchen, so I use my George Foreman grill, crock pot, toaster oven, electric wok, rice cooker/vegetable steamer, and more. BTW, if you can get a full size toaster oven they are GREAT. I had one that could easily fit a full 8x8 baking pan and I…

I can relate. There are a lot of people here who find something that worked really well for them and then want to share with everyone. Let's face it-most of us like to do this. When we find something good, we want everyone to know about it. It's easy to forget that not everything works for everyone. And then there's others…

I wouldn't call it something to aspire to by any means. I've done it and that was hardly working, not working hard. A long time ago in my skinny days. Sometimes it can be as simple as not enough water or working out on an empty stomach. If you're concerned, contact your medical professional and ask about whether it's…

Hey hon! I can join you in the no diet soda challenge. Me and my coffee go hand in hand, but the diet soda is something I really do need to kick. It's not that I'll die without coffee , but my one cup is prelogged and part of my daily routine. I have also recently discovered that when I cut it out the migraines…

Thank you so much! I just added this book to my wish list on Amazon!

To go on another cruise To travel once out of the country for fun with my husband To complete my ministry degree and begin work Oh yeah, and all that physical health stuff, too. That's a given.

I'm thinking yogajournal.com can probably tell you that. http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/470 There is also a variation to do it on your elbows if you, like me, have arthritic hands. Just put your elbows where the hands are shown to be, keeping focus in the same spot. Side plank is entirely different and probably covered…

I'm in! I've joined the group and I'll give it my best shot!

I'd give you an ab circuit to put in there. Do multiple sets of various types of crunches. Start with regular. Add oblique crunches. Then pelvic lifts. 25 of each (that's 25 each side for the obliques!) and do them each 3 times.

I like to have a treat meal once in awhile. I schedule it though, as part of my regular weekly menu. I make sure to have my regular meals planned after it, too. Otherwise I have a tough time getting back on track. I tend to go just a little off my usual-get one thing I usually don't. Maybe I'll get some buffalo wings with…

Some ingredient somewhere in that recipe was mis-calculated. Whether by you or by them I can't say. It could be a matter of how they measure vs how you do. Or not. It could simply be a major typo. Either way, I'd write to the author of the recipe and ask about it. I've done this before and usually get answers.

Aha! My fav thing to do this time of year- modify the cookout menu! Main dish- Shrimp on the barbie! (Yes, I love saying that.) Or other fish. Or lean steak. Skip the cheap stuff, IMO. That's just a preference 'cause I like this stuff better. Side dishes: Stuffed veggies-shrooms, grape tomatoes and such. Stuff 'em using…

IF that stats listed here told the whole story, that might work. If this site included the 80 lbs I lost before coming here. Just sayin'.

It's Not true for ME. If I stay within my macros and calories, but eat doritos as part of my carbs, as I don't lose weight. If I do it and eat brown rice instead, I generally do. So, for me it does matter. For others it might not. Everyone is different.

Avoid the fried rice. Get the brown rice and steamed vegetables to go with your broth-based soup. Check this out for help: http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?tabnum=1&art_id=82061 I love this little cheat sheet and it doesn't seem to require a login to use it. The gist of it seems to be that chicken and…

I have a series of rewards planned along the way, since I have a long way to go. For each 10% I lose, I'll reward myself. The rewards include new clothing or massages mostly, because those are the things that I typically don't get for myself.

Hmm....how insistent are they on the "appetizer" part of it? I always enjoy bringing chili to these things. I have a healthy veggie chili that everyone loves ( I never get leftovers!). You can find it here: http://jenna3.livejournal.com/311174.html The last three ingredients are optional for fun. Otherwise.... Stuffed…

You are not alone. It makes me want to punch the bags, too.

Yes, it's fine. Think of your daily calories as an allowance. You can spend them all, but it's not necessary to spend every single one.

I'm right there with ya! My last boss was a tool. He kindly informed me one day that he thought women should wear full pantyhose every day. Didn't care whether we wore dresses or jeans, but we should wear full pantyhose every day. I wasn't sure what to say, so I told him, "Okay. I will if you will."

I'm a fan of spinach lasagna, with whole grain noodles. Or skip the noodles and use sliced eggplant if you're doing the lower carb thing.

Our gym has lost 20 DOZEN towels in the last eight weeks alone. They've always had these blue hand towels for us to use to wipe down the equipment. Now they are switching to bright orange so it will be harder for people to walk out with them. Really people? Hand towels? *forehead smack* And dumbbells? I guess you are what…

Whenever you're lacking motivation it's time to stop and ask yourself why you're doing this. Why do you want to lose the weight? Why is it important to you? Why now? Write that down. Put it on your mirror, fridge, tv, whatever is getting in the way of accomplishing your goals. What is it you're doing instead of exercising?…

MFP makes recommendations based on your preferences. If you have set that you want to lose 2 lbs per week, you will always have 1200 calories recommended. That is because MFP will never recommend below 1200. If select 1.5 lbs per week, it'll usually recommend a bit higher- say around 1270. If you go with something less…

If you love to cook with fresh ginger (I put it in almost everything) but are tired of it going bad, keep it in the freezer. Peel it when you get it, then keep it in plastic wrap and a baggie in the freezer. When you needed it, just pulled it out and slice or grate (don't thaw!) and add it right away, then put it back int…

Here's my tip: Sit down and ask yourself why you're doing this. What is your goal? Why do you want to accomplish it? Why is this important? The real reason, not the one you tell everyone else. Maybe it's your energy level, your kids, your social life, or you just hate the way you feel when you wake up. Whatever. Write that…

No one person, doctor or no, can tell you what hormones will do for every woman on the planet. I am not now, nor will I ever be again, on birth control pills. I hate the things and have quite enough hormone issues without their help, thank you. However, I've had my share of horror stories from them. Yes, they can and DO…

Tampa Bay, near my dad. He's retiring soon and it would be so nice to take advantage of the man having time OFF for the first time in his entire bloody life. :)

I just started Slim in 6 last Wednesday. Starting week 2 today. I'm anxious to see some results, but so far not much. (Yeah, I know, give it more than 4 days, right?) I'm going to try the 6 Day Express starting today and see if that helps.

I was going to say this--except minus the stevia. Unless you like things super sweet no extra sweetener needed. I also like sliced bananas in my cereal. Slice 'em longwise and put 'em with peanut butter on a sandwich for the kids. (or you.) Slice 'em long wise and get some frozen yogurt for a healthy little banana split.
