  • This! Excellent advise, and the absolute most mature, and non-threatening approach to take. How ever it turns out, both parties should come out of it knowing that the best possible effort was made.
  • I hear ya! I lost quite a bit of weight a few years ago, and felt great about my body...BUT I found I looked quite a bit older in my face due to wrinkles that showed up after the weight loss. I then gained back some of my weight. With the weight gain, I lost some of the wrinkles. It really is a Catch 22 situation. I think…
  • I've had the margarita, the white peach margarita, the cranberry cosmo, and the pina colada and I LOVE them!!! Over ice, they are fabulous!!
  • I, like everyone else who has replied, love my wine and wouldn't give it up! I also factor in wine calories and make sure I save some for my glass or 2 a night or exercise more if need be!! En Vino, Veritas my friends!!!!
  • I just checked out your diary, and GREAT JOB on making adjustments already! Your breakfast caloric intake is down 800 calories alone, so you've already cut back to under 5000 for the day from yesterday!!!! Keep it up, and by tonight I bet you'll find that you are WAY under yesterday's total!!! You CAN do this!!!!
  • If I had a lot to lose, and could be away from work that long, I would do it in a hearbeat! Yes, there's drama...it's a "reality" show. That's what we Americans thrive on, obviously. And no, it's not a lifestyle you can sustain when you get home...you can't work out all day long when you aren't on the ranch. However, you…
  • I have only used them when running distances over 7 or 8 miles. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need them for 5K (plus they taste icky!).
  • I would also recomment 30 Day Shred. It's a great starter program that will prepare you to work up to more intense workouts. Plus, it's short and effective!
  • No exercise you do is worthless. That's 11 minutes of cardio that you would not have had had you sat at home. :flowerforyou:
  • Ripped in 30 is more intense than 30DS. The Shred is a good workout to begin, and then Ripped is a great way to increase your intensity. From what I understand, her Body Revolution is yet another step up from Ripped.
  • What you're dealing with is probably lactic acid buildup in your muscles from initiating the first workout. When you start working out, your muscles will be pretty sore on your 2nd day, and on your 3rd day they will be even more sore. However, if you keep working out, even with the soreness, by day 4 you should be feeling…
  • All you need for equipment is a mat (if exercising on a hard surface), and some hand weights.
  • It is a great workout for on-the-go, busy people, and people who are just beginning to exercise. It is a 20 minute workout that incorporates a 3-2-1 method of training: 3 minutes of strength followed by 2 minutes of cardio, and then 1 minute of abs. There are 3 circuits of the 3-2-1 and they are done in immediate…
  • I don't know if you live in an area where this is possible, but hiking is a great way to burn calories and not really feel like you're working out, especially if you have a lovely area in which to hike!
  • I also recommend Moving Comfort Fiona....I'm a large 36D.
  • I am 5'11" and my goal weight is 160. I am at 175 right now, and would be fine if I didn't lose anymore. I was 155 a few years ago and I liked that too (my body shape was different then). Your goal weight should really just depend on your body. It will be different for everyone.
  • Have beer! Budweiser Select 55 is a good, low-cal choice, as is MGD 64. These give you lower calorie options (plus have a lower percentage of alcohol), so you can still enjoy what you love! I drink wine at least once a week with my girlfriends and I still am losing weight! You have to be able to keep at least some of the…
  • I work out about 30 minutes (Jillian videos) a day, 3-5 days a week.
  • I weigh myself pretty much every morning, like many have admitted they do. I also do not freak out if I go up as I know I'll go back down. I have found, due to my height (5'11") and my body's ability to distribute weight gain very evenly (it's a good and a bad thing), I can gain 10 to 15 pounds without being aware of it. I…
  • I'm 44 and 5'11" SW 200 CW 175 GW 160 It is indeed a lifestyle change! I have also never been successful on any kind of "diet". The only time that I have lost weight and been successful in keeping it off, I did it through monitoring my caloric intake and exercising. I used MFP and this type of program several years ago and…
  • You KNOW wine is in my arsenal!! Haha! As many have stated before, I don't intend to give up wine after I reach my goal weight so I have to figure out how to make it fit within my caloric limits. I may be losing slowly, but I am losing even with a glass or two a night! WOO HOO!!!!!!
  • When I did it, it took me 59 days to get through the 30 days. I would do it 4-5 days a week depending on my children's sports schedules and my motivation. I did 10 days at each level and lost 19 pounds at the end of the 59 days. Listen to your body and do what you can when you can!
  • Are you eating back your workout calories when you do work out? Your body may be hoarding calories in the weeks you don't work out if you are under 1200 net calories per day when you are working out. It's just a thought. However, it may also be that if you are sick or stressed, your body may be hoarding calories in order…
  • I'm doing Ripped in 30 (Jillian) right now and it's a pretty good work-out. Same 3-2-1 system as 30DS, but much more intense. I have also tried Turbo Fire. It will give you a heck of a workout IF you can keep up with the moves! It's fast and a little crazy, but it could be fun!
  • I don't have pics, but lost 19 pounds doing 30DS. AND it took me 59 days to complete the 30 days! So, if it gets too tough to do it daily, it still works to average an every-other-day workout with Jillian. She is a sadistic woman, but she definitely gets results! Doing Ripped in 30 now and am on week 3. She still scares me…
  • While I am back to dieting now - I gained weight due to having surgery on my foot and not being able to exercise - I was on a maintenance regimen for well over a year. You do need to keep exercising and you do still need to keep an eye on caloric intake, but you can be a little less rigid. I think also that this website…
