Yeah, I was always wary of Atkins because of the bounce-back issues people have had, but then I never really researched it that thoroughly. Thanks for the adds, guys!

My advice? Enjoy it! If you want to be "good" give yourself about 1k calories, and don't worry too much about what you order. Being disciplined for the rest of the week will see you through, no trouble! Maybe best to avoid the Keema Naans, though!

Hi guys, I'm from St Helens. I've been on here for 12 months and lost over 5 stone. I have reset my data for the new year after having christmas "off" (I only gained a total of 5lb, eating fairly "naughtily"). My main strategy was the obvious, irrefutable one. - Eat fewer calories than your body burns - - I was at around…

Thanks again, everyone. I really can't express how much I appreciate everyone's kind comments. The recipe's on my blog... I intended to post loads of recipes on there, but in the end I was too lazy! Maybe I'll do a few more one day! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/davidshutter

Wow! Thank you so much everybody for your kind words. I still struggle with accepting praise due to some pretty unkind things that have been said to me in the past (I'm sure I'm not the only one in that boat!), so I really value every one of your compliments! A little update from the last week - I had a trip to the…

Thanks everyone! I am very proud of myself and what I've achieved, but I'm not finished yet. Like I said, I'd be happy if I never lose another pound, I'm now working on fitness and reducing my bfp into the "average" range (my bmi is still 'overweight', but according to calcularors I've used my lean muscle mass alone would…

Oh, no. I make a point of not making snide and indirect remarks about somebody else's comments, I think these forums have enough bickering and passive-aggressiveness already. Exercising will release endorphins, and make you feel good - sitting around thinking about food wont! :-) Those of us that have been doing this for a…

Those of us here who are trying to lose weight are already deliberately restricting our intakes - which is (clearly) not an easy thing to do (and for me, especially difficult on a weekend). It would be better to create that deficit through an extra 20-30 mins workout than through limiting what you eat even farther.

There's little point in trying to starve it out of you, all that you'll do is make yourself unhappy. Just get back on the horse, get back to what you were doing before and forget about it. Yes, that was a big blow-out, but you're not going to just convert it all into extra weight and pile it all back on, because you've not…

I've found my Wii to be far more consistent than my scales - and that's more important than accuracy IMO (I don't know if they are completely accurate, but my SW was spot on with what I weighed at the docs)

Ben Harper - Steal My Kisses Paul Simon - Still Crazy After All These Years Mick Jagger - Visions of Paradise Carole King - So Far Away Jim Croce - Time In A Bottle Or are they all just me?

My first choice is Douglas Adams... but I imagine he'd probably be over his calorie goal by now, given loads of people have already picked him! ;-) I'll go for: 1) Hans Asperger 2) Richard Burton 3) Henri Cartier-Bresson And we'd head out for a curry and a few beers.

Ditto here. I'm not against them, but I don't think I'm missing out on anything either.

Sorry to be unimaginative, but I'm bumping this for later... I'll second Chilli, too... my recipe's here - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/davidshutter

I tend to have an apple or a banana on the bus on the way into work with a bottle of Orange juice, I really struggle to eat first thing in the morning, so I usually make do with that and then have some toast at around half ten, when I've woken up or been teaching for a couple of hours... whichever comes first!

Here's 3 lists... One of people you need to get rid of, one of people you need to keep close, and one of parties you don't need to go to. Stay with Jen, she's awesome. If you don't you'll still do a decent enough job, and in ten years time you'll still have one of the worlds best friends, but you'll be kicking yourself and…

I didn't really do any proper "before" pictures, which I'm really regretting now, and being a photographer, I have a sixth sense as to when I know someone's taking ones near me, and always avoid getting in shot as best as I can. I have a couple from last year though, and you get a good idea where I started from with them.…
