You cut that back and watch the weight fall  When I first started I was amazed at the number of calories I was consuming daily but then I was eating at McDonalds a couple times a day LOL Seriously, start tracking, eat better and you will feel better!

Great job! I know the journey well and it is worth every bit of hard work

I always say that maintaining is more work than losing weight  I think what Ilift said was very good advice. Set your goals to maintenance and go from there. There are always areas in our diets that we can tweak to get the desired results. I've been maintaining my loss for 7 plus years and it takes work but is…

45 years here. I run three times a week, use the Arc at the gym 3-4 times a week. Weights a couple times a week. I have a road bike so I just did a 50 mile ride and now that winter is approaching I'm trying to get out on the bike a couple times a week. I do love to workout though so that helps a ton

I'm running the Rome Marathon in March. I don't like it when I see you use words like hills LOL

I agree with lifting. Concentrate more on the eating issues and your body will decide what is a good weight for you. I'm also 5'2 and I avg. 130 pounds with the occasional 128 or 129. At one point I dropped to 125 and people started commenting that I was far too thin and they were right. I wasn't eating nearly enough and…

That was absolutely hilarious LOL Not going to stop going to Subway

Trust me when I say don't over think it, get out there and do it  I started walking, then walk/running and now I'm a die hard runner. I had lost about 50 pounds when I started and then dropped an additional 50 plus pounds as I started to run. Many here suggested taking it slow and that is great advice. My running…

I say help her. It is your business, obesity and the stress it puts on an already over burdened healthcare system is all of our business. You can help someone without them even realizing what your underlying motive is. I finally made a change when my sis in law said hey I need help losing weight so I joined her as a way to…

Don't let anyone tell you that you need to cut carbs to be lean, that is such a bunch of crap! I'm pretty darn lean and I never cut carbs, in fact I rarely pay too much attention to them. If you deprive yourself of something too much the chances are good you are going to binge at some point. GO eat carbs

Typically I eat about 2000 a day. If I'm training for a marathon I'll eat more, just running/biking/gym I stay around the 2000. I would say overall though that MFP does tend to say I can eat more than I'm comfortable with.

No but I tripped on mile 25 of my first marathon and face planted on the cement. OMG I was embarrassed beyond belief

So here's the thing, I did everything the exact opposite of what he says. I not only lost all the weight but have kept it off for over 7 years now. A calorie is a calorie, it can't tell time  I figure that as long as someone is eating healthy and creating the deficit needed to lose weight who cares when they eat.…

OMG YES! I have this problem too. I love boots but do the boot makers think all women have these tiny little petite calves. I run and workout, I have sold but larger calves. Husband says they are hot

Always hungry. Always cold. People assume I can eat whatever I want and I want to say how do you think I got over 100 pounds over weight....I mean seriously  Bras are expensive. I am a running/working out clothing obsessed freak LOL

Biking is a great way to lose weight or stay in shape. I'm a runner first but I love cycling. I bought a road bike a few years ago and have since logged some serious miles. The nice thing about the bike versus running is the ground that I cover and the freedom it allows me! I live in Michigan so biking in the winter isn't…

Oh for sure! I take a rest day when I feel like I need one but that isn't often. Even on my rest days I'm out doing something because that is just how I'm wired  As someone who dealt with obesity for a very long time it is hard to not feel lazy when I take a rest day. It is hard for people to understand who've never…

I'm 5'2 and 131 pounds. I made it down to 125 once but it was incredibly unhealthy. Here is the thing about weight. I wear a 0-2 size and when asked what my size is people say no way because of my weight. I am packed full of muscle from running and weight lifting so while my 'ideal' weight might be lower I am right where…

You never really stop a 'diet', you simply transition to another way of eating. I rarely use the word because I didn't diet as much as I changed my entire life starting with the food I ate. To be honest, I don't over think what I eat. People have to do what works for them but I don't worry too much about how many carbs I…

You don't have to be sorry for sharing what you feel  What it really is about is balance. People seem to struggle with finding a good balance of exercise, diet and life in general. I'm lucky in that I seem to have found that balance and have been able to stick with it for years. I understand food addictions, I had…

Life is too short to always worry about what you eat. I get where you're coming from but life revolves around food. Now that doesn't mean you need to eat an entire pizza or eat 10 candy bars a day but you should enjoy the things you love. I've kept this weight off for several years now and I do so by eating well 6 days a…

I'm a huge fan of the show! Oh sure some of it is contrived but hey, it is tv after all  I get inspired when I watch other people finally find success. I love to see people get healthy!

I can't even imagine starting my day without working out  It is hard to say why you are so tired and whether it is fuel, water or something else. For me personally, working out gives me great energy throughout the day, even though I burn up so much by running, cycling or working out at the gym. I go with two slices…

It always cracks me up when people say silly stuff like that but then it is usually the person who doesn't work out at all  I have plenty of muscle and my husband thinks it is hot and so do I! It isn't just about the muscle though, it is about how strong I feel as I build muscle. Keep up the great work!

An age old question LOL I weigh in daily but I do so knowing my weight bounces up and down. In one day I can see a shift of 3-4 pounds. It is really personal preference at this point. Some say it is bad to weigh in daily but it really isn't as long as you go in to it knowing the weight will vary from one day to the next.…

As an ex smoker I totally get it  I gained weight too when I quit but the health benefits of not smoking far outweighed, no pun intended, some extra weight! You've done the tough part by quitting smoking, now comes the easy stuff in comparison. Losing weight was not hard, in fact I found it pretty easy. You hit the…

I've kept my weight off for better than 7 years now by using the everything in moderation idea. Now I do know people that are lifelong diabetics who have to really watch their carbs but there's a medical reason to do so. Certainly you can go overboard but you can do that with anything! I'm a marathoner who loves the long…

I get it. I grew up with a step-father who constantly told me I was fat, ugly, stupid and a whole lot worse! My mom said to me one day after I told her I was going to have weight loss surgery that she was always more proud of me when I was thin...ugh! She's been gone for 4 years now and that comment still stings. I didn't…

5'2 and 131 pounds. Funny because people say all the time they think I weigh around 115 but I have a ton of muscle and much prefer it that way

Seriously perfect advice!
