  • I have lost 100 lbs in ten months from walking but as my body got used to the walking I had to increase my pace, incline (walking up hills & stairs)and distance. It can be done but I had to incorporate a healthy diet, a little water aerobics and some 5K's to lose the 100 lbs.
  • I love that I can walk. I love that I can stand to take a shower. I love that I can stand to do the dishes. I love being able to play with my nieces and nephews.
  • Thanks for cheering me on and helping me to see more clearly. Thanks also to all the new friend requests. I am grateful to be able to be inspired further as we make this journey together to a healthier lifestyle.
  • I want to thank everyone for the feedback. One of the comments struck a chord with me about writing down the comments others have made and then to look at the pictures different. I also appreciated the empathy about how it takes longer for our brain to catch up to the changes we are making to our bodies. It helps me to…

  • I am in. Do I just log my progress each day or once a week. I am new to doing challenges.
  • Just for today I will celebrate the achievement of my goal of losing 100 lbs before October 1st.. I said goodbye to 102.8 lbs since beginning my journey on January 23, 2013. Then I will set a new goal and one day at a time I will reach that goal.
  • Way to go.
  • Carry On by F.U.N.
  • I am in too. What a great challenge.
  • I love your story. Half the battle is conquering the voices in our head that say "You can't do this! or what will people think?". Here's three cheers for you" Hurrah, Hurrrah, Hurrah...Way to face a fear". Just think how much fun the rest of the summer will be going on bike rides with your family. Congratulations.
  • you look so young. What a transformation. Keep it up girl.
  • What got me started was a diabetes diagnosis. I have struggled with my weight since I was a toddler. I can't remember ever being thin. I used food as a way to cope with my feelings whether they were happy or sad. I read a book in January of this year by Bob Harper called "Are you ready?". The writing excercises in this…
  • amazing pictures. I am going to steal the necklace idea. What a great reminder and you could keep adding charms for each milestone weight loss. Awesome post.
  • When I get angry, I ask my self what are you afraid of? A few weeks ago I realized that I was afraid of success. I started to believe all the nay sayers who tell me I can't do this. I felt the fear for all the times I have started this lifestyle change and given up and failed once again (I have been doing this since about…

  • Welcome to MFP. It has really helped me on this lifestyle change to be accountable to myself and others. I am glad to share what has worked for me but everyone's journey is different. The biggest help to me so far was a book by Bob Harper (Biggest Loser trainer) called "Are you ready?". He includes some writing exercises…
  • Amazing transformation. You've added years to your life. Good luck on your journey.
  • Amazing story. I remember in January I couldn't walk from bedroom to my kitchen without being out of breath and needing to sit down. In March I walked my first 5K and it felt amazing. I have done two more since. I can imagine the feeling you felt when you finished your race. Thanks for sharing.
  • Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Anything is possible if we can change our thoughts. Good luck on your journey too.
  • Well, I sometimes need a kick in the but too. If it's not to late where you live then go out and walk off some of those calories from the pizza. I started this journey on January 26th at 402.6 lbs. Now 131 days into it I have lost 73.8 lbs. I allow myself two less healthy meals a week (usually saturday and sunday night…
  • I would definately go to the doctor. My tiredness was because I am low in iron and very anemic. I agree with the people that say to eat protein it really does help. I take an iron pill now and that helps but don't start one unless your doctor says too. Good luck.
  • For so many years I would get frustrated with women that only had ten lbs to lose since I need to lose a lot more than that. But since joining this site I have new respect for how hard ti must be to get that last pesky ten lbs off. I agree with what others have posted. When I take measurements it is amazing to see that I…
  • I don't know you but your story sounds a lot like mine when I first started. I read a book by Bob Harper called "Are you ready?". He has some writing excercises to do about your relationship with food. It changed my life. I am learning to not give food power (healthy or not) over me. I started my journey 131 days ago at…
  • I can only speak for what is helping me. I looked at your diary and it looks like you are eating a lot of fast foods and food high in sodium. When I do this I hold on to the weight. You may want to try and eat more fruits and vegetables. You might want to track your water intake too. That helped me. I hope you can figure…
  • Amazing before and after pictures. You might not have won the contest but you've won years added back on to your life. Way to Go!
  • What an inspiring story. It proves to me that no matter what our circumstances we can acheive our goals if we put for the effort. Thanks for sharing.
  • Your story gives me hope. I am at 63 pounds down and I can't seem to get over this hump. Thanks for the inspiration.
