  • I've also recently discovered chia seeds in flavoured cereals. It's 2 tablespoons of concentrated protein and plenty of vitamins. I usually mix 1 tablespoon into my regular cereal. It's a weird texture on its own but great as an add-in to other foods. :)
  • I started at a similar weight back in January and I've lost 65 pounds. It's amazing to discover how many calories you consume when you take the time to write it down. I have to admit that I've become a bit obsessed with food but it's because for me, I know that if I don't plan ahead, I'll end up ordering pizza and it will…
  • Especially when accompanied by MEAT... :)
  • You look amazing congratulations!
  • Hey there, I still have over 100 pounds to lose but I've lost 62. I started walking my dog (who is thrilled by the way lol) and now I'm walking anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes about 4-5 times a week and I've gotten up to 4kms. I hoping to get to the 5km mark by the end of the summer. I also bought a resistance band and…
  • Coconut oil rocks! It's better for cooking because it withstands higher temperatures. Also, Whole grain bread is better than wheat. If they aren't using the whole grain, the grain is being processed and you therefore aren't getting all the benefits of the grain. Something my nutritionist also just introduced me to is Hemp…
  • The only I find with the store bought kind is that it's often laced with either sodium or artificial sugar. I'd rather get some calories from fresh fruit and avoid the sodium since I'm a salt-a-holic. :)
  • I struggled with the same thing at first and then I started buying low-cal cookbooks and hired a nutritionist. I've read a lot and I'm learning how to change my favourite recipes in ways that make them healthier and lower in calories. I think the best one is my spaghetti sauce. By replacing the beef with ground chicken or…
  • She has told you she misses her friends, family, and country... she didn't also say she missed the men from there. You have said she loves you as well. Why would she want someone else then? If she really wasn't happy with you because of your ethnicity, then she wouldn't be worth having as a girlfriend but since you love…
  • Well I'm getting "H" but I'm more "T" and I often "E" hence I 'm hoping to be "H" sooner rather than later. I'm sometimes "S" but too "X" and "Y" to be "S" all the time. Now I'm just "C" (confused).
  • Instead of butter, I melted coconut oil on some asparagus and it was delish!!! I use it often now for most of my cooking and as others have pointed out it's good for other stuff too. My nutritionist suggested eating 3 teaspoons a day (not Tbsp) but I'm guessing either is fine. I've been told this is one of the best oils…
  • This is Kali when she was just a pup. She's lost her "raccoon" eyes now but she's still beautiful and a wonderful member of the family!

  • Same here! I started the first one Sunday afternoon. It's now Thursday and I'm almost done the third one! Apparently they're talking to Chris Pine for the main character in the movie. :)
  • I agree that you should need to buy two seats however what happens if they give you seats in two different rows??? I bought three tickets for my family to fly to Miami to catch a cruise. On the way there, it was fine and we all sat together. On the way home, we had seats in 3 different aisles. I had to put up a stink for…
  • I think people lose weight and get healthy for a variety of reasons. Case in point: When I got divorced, I proceeded to lose 60 pounds on my own, eating right and exercising. Then I met my current spouse and proceeded to gain 85 pounds in 3 years. Keep in mind this is following a lifetime of yo-yo dieting to please other…
  • Check this site out... a 3.5" square is only 23 calories according to this site but a 7" square is something like 82 calories. Perhaps the nutrition is taking into consideration a different serving size? Just a thought... http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/Dictionary/W/Wonton-Wrappers-5592.aspx?t=t&nuM=3&nuQ=1
  • I guess I'm lucky when it comes to this. I'm not a chocolate person. I'd much rather have a big bag of salt and vinegar chips than a chocolate bar. That being said, I may make some strawberry banana crepes with a tablespoon of melted chocolate for dessert (well within my calorie limit and oh so delicious!) Happy Easter!
  • This ^^ You have to WANT the weight loss and healthy lifestyle badly enough that the fast food becomes a "not worth it" to you. I haven't had fast food since I started at MFP (January 2012) and I still get cravings for it but I know that if I eat even 1 Big Mac... I'll cave more often. As for it taking longer to prepare,…
  • I just made a batch of low fat whole wheat muffins with blueberries last night. That and a yogurt was breakfast this morning. :)
  • I play a ton of different games on there. I'm addicted to one of the poker games right now. LOL

  • As much as everyone can have their own opinion about their own body, I think we throw around words like "fat" and "skinny" a little too much. It becomes a stigma. Why not avoid those words altogether and say things like "I'm not comfortable in my own skin right now. I'd like to lose 5 pounds." Then we're not implying…
  • Can I have your recipe for the Quinoa burgers???
  • I prefer my bread flat so I'd pin ziploc bags to my cowgirl clothes with toast in them and be a toasted western!
  • Those all sound great to me... unfortunately, it's a peanut free school because of allergies and he won't touch salsa or ranch dressing. I'm ready to pull my hair out! How do I get him to give stuff a chance?! He takes a bite from the end of a spoon and he's already convinced himself he won't like it so the immediate…
  • Jeepers that made ME teary eyed! Congratulations! I can't wait to have my own "teary-eyed" stories to tell!!! :)
  • I have a whole wheat english muffin topped with light cream cheese (favoured or plain) topped with fruit, vegetables, or sliced hard boiled egg whites (sometimes I include one yolk if I'm not at my weekly limit). Otherwise I'll have oatmeal with a dollop of vanilla greek yogurt and a pouch of Planters 100 calorie vitality…
  • Yoda is wearing an eye patch!
  • I guess I'm a bit of a strange bird. As a kid, I wanted nothing to do with meat of any kind... but green veggies... I'M THERE!!! I still LOVE broccoli, spinach, okra, cabbage and brussel sprouts (I told you - strange bird... I even love cottage cheese!) but I can't stand celery and sweet peppers (no matter what colour they…
