there is a bjj group on mfp, i've joined, you might be able to find more people there.

cardio after lifting is much more beneficial, can provide articles if needed.

you piss it out
-
Bulk diet and lift heavy lower body weights.
-
sounds like the best option is to switch gyms. seriously a squat rack is one of the essential pieces of equipment.
-
I'm just going to say that if you don't do heavy lifting ie: heavy deadlifts (at least 400lbs), calf raises, something that works out your calves, they probably aren't mostly muscle. They are notoriously one of the hardest muscles to enlargen, most professional bodybuilders have difficulty building them. a cuttting regime…

there is nothing wrong with going to the ground in a real fight, this is horrible advice. this is an excellent site for adivce on martial arts: http://www.bullshido.net/ read more, the guys that know the most are the ones that actually fight.
-
I would also recommend jiu jitsu, but depends on the places nearby. If you don't want to grapple I would recommend muay thai for a striking style.

find clean foods that are easy to make that fit your dietry requirements, examples are: salmon tuna chicken kale spinach quinoa eggs sweet potatos broccoli halibut *lean steak bison you do not need to add anything to these, they are best left alone, if you need you can add different spices.

when i first started training bjj and mma we usually threw the new people in right away, it weeded those out that would quit within a few months anyways and you wouldn't waste your time trying to teach someone stuff that will leave and not come back the first time they get choked or hit. now it seems most places don't have…

The easiest way to teach an over excited newb rolling/sparring etiquette is putting them down quickly. Hopefully after many failed attempts at their spaz attacking at full speed without technique they realize that they need to incoporate and pay attention to technique. Sorry to say it, but if you have problems with newbs…

You'll toughen up, keep with it. Rub some dirt on it.

mayweather is the #1 p4p boxer in the world and "he's not a great striker?".
-
i agree with peuglow, it kind of looks like flailing the defense is awful as well, his hands are by his waist.... if you want great striking watch mayweather or anderson silva. if you want to see someone incorporate the good aspects of karate watch machida, much more realistic.
-
Also the complete lack of a ground/clinch game doesn't help karate much either
-
It's still karate, so yes bad point fighting grover-watch bellator, ufc, or any defunct old mma organizations
-
sorry it looks like normal limited bad point fighting to me, not impressed by it at all.
-
Why do you do cardio first before weight training?
-
learn to love to roll with people better, faster, bigger and stronger then you
-
I was a member there a few years ago, currently go to fitness 19 though. World gym is fine if you just want weights and treadmills, you don't really need classes and all that fancy stuff anyways.

DOMS is an indication that you did exercise/movements that you're body is not used to, not really an indication that you need to "loosen" up. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't warm up before doing heavy lifting. If your legs are sore, do something to get the blood flowing to the area, walking, light jogging, something…

The better question is why are you cutting your calorie intake while training 5-6 times a week? Also, take the advice from nutrionist and professional trainers, this is not what friends are for.

too much germophobia

the most effective self defense martial arts all have a sport element muay thai bjj boxing wrestling kickboxing and yes..judo performing a shoulder throw on someone would be pretty good in self defense as would following it up with an arm triangle...all of which you can learn in judo I'm done with the argument, yes…
-
Judo is effective for self defense sport is the quality control arm of martial arts, saying that it is only good for sport is an old argument. MMA fighters aren't as prepared for self defense because they don't train for "teh streetz"...that's ridiculous. It's the same as saying lebron isn't the best basketball player or…

Anytime is a good time to start, it will help getting into shape.
-
1-0 and that's how it's staying, my wife let me do one amateur fight. besides that plenty of ibjjf, naga, kombat korner, other local bjj tournaments and before that judo, no idea on the record. Recently taking time off due to re evaluating whether i want to continue, had injuries and the last time I had my cauliflower ear…

I don't see anything...

breathe and stop being so tense, it's slowing you down.

or..join a gym, mine is less then $20 a month, has all the free weights, cable stuff i need, sure it doesn't have a pool or yoga classes, but you really don't need that. if you want aerobic exercise, run outside or use a bike.
