just realized the NROLFW nutrition numbers are for maintenance, though. so the nonworkout day level is appoximately my cut value, and the workout day level is my TDEE. so i guess eating cut value that whole time would still work? but eating TDEE everyday might make me gain. i'm not sure. anyone else do NROLFW and EMTWL -…

I don't think I'm going to. I'm on week 8 of a metabolism reset, but at a higher activity level than I'll be when I start NR - so I'm going to stay at full TDEE for mod activity when I start NR for a couple weeks, and then do a 10% cut from there. So by NR standards I"ll be overeating - but throughout the whole reset I ate…

I'm pretty much my goal pants size and clothing sizes, I just want to get rid of some of the lumps and bumps. Cardio got me to where I am (down 50 pounds from my highest weight) but I think I need to strength train to really get the look I'm going for. I'm just so used to endurance cardio that I'm not sure how to still…

do you do any cardio/any other exercise besides NR?
-
hmm. hard to say. I think I fall in the 'skinny fat' category right now - I maintained at 144-146 for a while (i'm 5'10"), but started working out more (thus started binging) and slowly made my way up to 148. i started 'eating more' in early May when I got the MFP app on my phone, and i was eating MFP's recommended 1640…

what equipment do you need for CLX? and do the HIIT dvds with turbofire come with it, or do you have to buy them separately?
-
now I'm worried that the 154 I saw yesterday wasn't accurate - I ran 7 miles on Saturday and haven't worked out since, but did have a pretty sodium-heavy meal Sunday night (Noodles & Co). And then saw 154 on the scale yesterday morning... this is my last week of reset, but I'm going to try to take a workout break... I…

I know!! I'm so excited! Except I just came to this lightbulb moment that excessive cardio is doing nothing for me - so I plan to switch to NROLFW/shorter cardio sessions. but now I'm worried to do that, because I know my TDEE is right with this exercise regime (the excessive cardio)... so what if I start NROLFW and…

I'm 5'10". At my highest, 205, I was a tight 14 and getting into 16's, with a couple 18's from Target. My lowest adult weight was late 2011, and I was 133 pounds, wearing size 2's from Gap, NY&Company, and American Eagle (and some AE pants were a 0). I was also a 3/4 in Aeropostale skinny jeans. Around this time I was 16%…

if you're working out an hour five days a week you're bordering between moderate and strenuous... definitely not light!
-
so if I do NROLFW is that the light activity or moderate level? & no, i'm not eating back exercise cals anymore - i gained 6 pounds while doing that when i was doing MFP's method, then found this group, calculated my TDEE, and eat that now. not sure how much i've gained since starting the reset, but today is not a good day…

bump?

so is 30 day shred strength training or cardio?
-
man, i didn't know 30DS was cardio. i have 5 pound weights and my boyfriend has 20 pound weights. i can barely lift his weights to move them let alone work out with them, but i feel like only using 5 pounds will be worthless... that site looks interesting. i'm with you, i'm also doing the Bix saturday and am 100%…

do you do NROLFW? i have the book but i'm afraid to start it - completely intimidated by it, to be honest, and afraid i won't do it right. so are you at the moderate level, lifting and then short bouts of cardio?
-
I'm 5'9 and 3/4 (and usually just round up to 5'10" ;)) and started at my heaviest weight of 205. I got down to 145 and maintained it for a while, and then had stress fractures in both feet last August and ended up at my lowest adult weight of 133 in November. I have a large frame and 133 did not look good on me (but, I…

I definitely haven't been binging as much since starting the reset- I think I made it almost two straight weeks of resetting prior to binging. I've maybe averaged twice a week since then? Hard to say, since last night was my first time really logging it.
-
I work out right around 5.5ish hours a week so I'm eating at the 5-6 hour of activity level. I did move this week, so had a bit more exercise/movement- I also binged like this Tuesday (the day we moved) but it was much worse last night. Yesterday I had decided to take an extra rest day to compensate so didn't go to the gym…

1700 calories over. MFP says I'd weigh 174.5 if every day was like today. I wish I could stop this.
-
I kind of had a small epiphany just now - I ate breakfast a couple hours ago and just made my overnight oats for morning. And I ate the bowl, meaning I've in essence had 2 bowls of oatmeal today. But instead of feeling bad about it, or feeling guilty for eating it, I actually put some thought into it. I had a lick of the…

I didn't log on MFP, but kept track on pen and paper. I usually ate around 1800, sometimes up to 2000. My only exercise at that time was walking to and from class and work (anywhere from 4-ish miles to 7 miles round trip). So I was still getting a bit of exercise, just not running. Part of me wishes I had just continued…

@Terri - I might look into different devices. I'd love a body media fit but can't afford it. I'll have to check around and see what I can find that fits my price range ;) @jyska - I'm right there with you right now - all I want to do is eat! I finish a meal or snack and immediately start thinking about how long I should…

going by hours of activity you should be in the highest level. i stopped adding up your minutes when i got to 360 and your week wasn't over yet! if you're doing this much and only in strenuous i'm definitely overeating - i'm also eating strenuous, but do cardio 5 days a week for a little over an hour a time. hmm.... ETA:…

aren't most classes usually an hour? so if she teaches 7-8, she's probably easily working out 7+ hours week. i do agree though, it seems like 7 to 21 is SUCH a range!
-
so should I not go to the gym 4 more days this week and assume moving counted for at least one or two of those 'formal' sessions? the last thing i want to do is work out too much and get my body all confused
-
I found 'moving household items - boxes' (or something like that) in the database and logged an hour of doing that. It may have been more than that, though, but it's hard to say. I'd carry a load up, guzzle water and stand in front of the AC vent, and then get back outside. I've filled out my diary for the rest of the…

You're not eating enough. Never net below your BMR. Check out the group 'eat more to weigh less' and read through the stickies. They recommend eating at TDEE -15% for weight loss, so whatever 15% of 2002 is, subtract that from 2002 and eat that number constantly - even on days you don't work out. Don't eat back exercise…

I ended up eating a hot dog with mustard (just a regular size, they didn't have foot long) and some coleslaw. I had one Bud Light and then switched to diet soda. They had nachos, desserts, pasta, pulled pork/brisket, brats, and hot dogs all laid out buffet style - but honestly, none of it really appealed to me. I probably…

I am awful at hitting my macros. I go over on carbs daily, under on fats daily, and occasionally get my protein in. I'm doing a full reset and eating 2655 calories- so my goal is 199g of protein a day. I eat a lot of fruit so my carbs are always over; I don't really know how to not eat carbs but still get calories in!…
