I'm going to try and do it virtually every day. I already know there are a couple of days that I can't do.. the only other thing that will stop me is the pain that I currently have in my quads!!

I have completed day 2, it nearly killed me.. my quads are so sore.. I'm reasonably fit cardio wise so I thought I would be fine and I am with the cardio but oh my goodness the squats!

Just 4 miles in the sleet this afternoon! Was horribl but felt good afterwards

I smoked on and off for 20 years and have run regularly for the last 10. I quit smoking in September 2012 and I noticed a massive difference within the first week or so. If I have to stop or slow down now it is not due to wanting to hack a lung up and my 5k time is 3 mins quicker than my previous average!

Treadmill running is very different and as mentioned you should always run on an incline to accommodate for lack of wind resistance. The other reason to run with an incline is that a treadmill running isn't the same natural style as running outdoors, the belt is moving and so pushes your legs back rather than doing it…

England :)

There was a guy in my gym earlier in the week who wore a hoody, beanie and shades!

Another vote for the great outdoors - I real struggle with focusing on the treadmill - I get so bored!! Having said that the only thing that I do on there is interval training.. I find it easier with the time and also the incline that I want to run at..

Another vote for the running shop..investing in a proper pair of shoes protects against injury.. the only bit of kit that you really need to run so you may as well invest in it :)

Completely agree with what has already been said, go to a specialist running shop and get your gait analysed.. they will be able to recommend shoes for you. It's well worth investing in a quality pair of running shoes to help prevent injury. Also as already mentioned try running on a surface that isn't quite so unforgiving…

Hi :) I'm from Cheshire (although living down south!) Good advice - I too have ditched (largely!) the refined white carbs - boo! I eat fairly well my big issue apart from the carbs is portion control.. As you say, the weight didn't come on overnight and we're not going to lose it overnight either, crash dieting doesn't…

Yep, always have coffee :)

I go for a run at about 6.30.. I manage a coffee and that is it beforehand.. don't seem to suffer from nausea generally though only if I'm really tired.. I have squash when I get back and breakfast about an hour later..
