If you don't take in enough calories your brain gets the message that you are in starvation mode......and slows your metabolism way down as a life preserver. I stayed below the calories listed and couldn't lose. When I increased to 200 calories OVER the suggestion I have been losing fairly quickly.

I'm frustrated. For some reason I can never get the screen that tells me how many calories I've burned, how my sleep was, etc. I just got my fitbit and was able to access that screen only once and can't find it again. If I click on my fitbit logo it sends me to an install fitbit site, which is not what I need. I'm already…

I read, knit, crochet, play the piano or organ or harp. I'm RARELY bored because I have plenty of things to do to keep me occupied.

I LOVE my cargo shorts. I couldn't care less how many pockets they have.....I don't have to carry a purse and everything I need is there. (The fanny pack has to go, though.) I thought you were going to say you judged because he took seven plates of food!!!

2007 Ford Escape.......BRIGHT ORANGE!! Total strangers come up and say "Cool car....I like the color!" And, of course, here in the Maine boondocks you really need either 4WD or AWD. I love my car!

Big difference between Splenda, which is an excitotoxin and Truvia, which is natural. I don't know of any diet soda, however, that uses Truvia. I make my own iced tea or iced coffee and put Stevia liquid in....works well!

Mine was when I went for my last physical and REFUSED to get on the scales! And I'm a nurse....I know better. I wasn't all that overweight but I didn't like where I was. I didn't weigh but vowed that the next time I go to the doctor I will get on the scales and they will be friendly!

I'd find me a different friend.

Younger. Usually guessed for being in my 50's. I'm 67.

Two suggestions- adequate hydration (a must!) and adequate Calcium. Had problems in this area until a doctor friend told me to increase my Calcium intake. No problems since.

How about there, there?

I was looking for hubby the other day in a store and the cashier said "If you're looking for the ELDERLY man in the beard, he left a few minutes ago." I said okay and left before it hit me.......my man is elderly???? LOL!

Never thought about it in those terms. My faith is an integral part of my life. Nothing really exists apart from it.

Chobani or Dannon Oikos.....both excellent. My favs are black cherry, pineapple and lime. Yumm! Nothing else comes close. We tried the Chobani honey one and it was sickeningly sweet. And didn't like the pomegranate at all.

We, unfortunately, have found that some of the worst bullies at the school are teachers. Not all, by any means, but there are teachers out there on major power trips. And we all knew who they were.

You can quote "it takes a village" all you like but it is the PARENT'S responsibility to raise the children in the manner they choose. NO ONE ELSE has that right. I am so thankful most of my grandchildren are home schooled!!

My daughter's school nurse demanded records from his doctor's appointment because SHE had diagnosed him and was sure she was right. She was wrong. And my daughter told her it was not her right to have that information and refused to give it to her. Yes, she could have been concerned about his health, but there was no need…

The school is responsible for education. Nothing else.

DOMS? What's that?

I drank a LOT of coffee so I decided that I'd stop putting cream/milk in my coffee until I reached my goal. At first it was nasty but then I got used to it and actually enjoyed it. Recently, however, after reading several articles about the effect of coffee on the pancreas (as in, holding on to the fat) I decided to try…

About .5-.7 a week. I did well for the first 2 months, lost 8, and now I'm sitting and sitting and sitting! Argggh! I assume it's a plateau and that I'll start losing again but it really is frustrating! Taking in 1200-1300 cal/day...am 5'5".

They ask for weight and hair color......how many call and change it when they change their hair color? Or do you call them when you're 50% gray? Considering they have a picture on it, who cares what your weight, eye color or hair color is?

I lost my MIL in 2003 and miss her every day. She was the mother I SHOULD have had! She treated me like the daughter she wished she'd had and she was a wonderful grandmother to our children. When I had my babies she always came and stayed to help....I would NOT have wanted my mother around then. I try to be a good MIL to…

I ran almost daily for 7 1/2 months.....hated it as much the last day as I did the first day! I'll find something else to do with my time.

I'm pretty religious about it.....and VERY religious about my exercise. I'm normally a couch potato and eat whatever I feel like. That's how I got up to this weight. I figured I'd rather take off 25-30 now than have to take off 80 later! If I do my diet it tells me whether I can have that ice cream or cookie I want. If I…

My mother was never happy with my weight, even though I was never overweight, so when she asked me what I weighed the last time I answered....with laughter....."I weigh more than I did when I went in to deliver twins. And as far as I'm concerned, I like myself, my husband likes me....NO ONE ELSE MATTERS!" She never…

I'm kind of a couch potato who doesn't like to exercise. However, I am determined to lose some weight and get into better shape. Since I don't mind walking, I put the treadmill in the livingroom in front of the TV. Makes the time go faster!
