I've had major issues trying to lose weight in the past and IF has literally changed my relationship with food. I actually appreciate feeling hungry now and having the control not to eat, and I am pretty sure I will stay with this going forward. I currently do the 16/8, so start at 11 and stop at 7. I think my metabolism…

6"5' with a very non-active lifestyle and can appreciate your point of view as have also gone with the sub-1000 (although not through design through obsessing about something - teach programming and when there's a problem I HAVE to fix it), PLUS the fact that my weight is on a constant upward spiral it seems, but the days…

Portsmouth - as above feel free to add :)

Agree with the posts saying how it is much more motivating than other approaches- I tried the more formulaic running programs and always gave up after a few weeks, With this I found it much more addictive to go out and run (although I did make the mistake of starting with the app for people who can already run 5K without…

I had similar problems and everyone I spoke to said about breathing etc, but it was not so easy to control the breathing when I was running. The only way I got around it was to go cycling to build up my stamina and (surprisingly enough) because of this I don't have any problems now (and the cycling was a slow 10km). I have…

Just started W4 - significantly easier than W3, but the final run is a bit of a killer. Best keep working at the W3 8 minute free runs...

38 year old Vic20-Spectrum-Atari ST-Amiga-PC nostalgic gamer here (you'll never beat the music in Treasure Island Dizzy on the Amiga) with consoles of every description sitting under desks - rarely used. When not working, could previously be found running with necros all over Tyria,, and will probably be doing the same…

Stabilize your rear deflectors... Watch for enemy fighters Couldn't help it, sorry, and good luck :)

Good luck with this - I have started and stopped several times and that's always a bad thing....

When I realised that through a combination of creeping smoking habits (20+ a day) and lack of any exercise, I had gone from being a squash and field hockey regular who swam at least 3 times a week to someone who could barely break into a run without getting out of breath in my early to mid thirties. The two options were to…

I used to do it every day until I realized I was probably starting to obsess. However I now go every other day, which is probably still a little OCD.....not sure it helps too much to be honest but my weight fluctuates in a very narrow range so just a slight change has magnified effects. From my perspective I don't think my…

A Dance with Dragons (found Game of Thrones a tough one to get through but kind of snapped into it about halfway through)

I think the synchronization is what is missing from my current set up, but I can sync with Endomondo ok, but it would be nice to have everything sync with everything. One thing I will say for the Fit Bit is I get the impression their community is more active.

I did have the Polar but couldn't get on with it as I found the online app somewhat uninformative, so move to Garmin. This seems to work much better for me, although my Polar is still here :) I have steered away from the Fit Bit and wear a BodyMedia Ki instead, but I found I get more from the HRM

And to get to vigorous activyt can be really tough sometimes, so it pushes you a lot as well. Moderate activity is quite easy, but more than that - you have to work at it.

I have used it for about a year and it does make a difference. The fact you can track monthly reports has been an immense help to me - really would recommend it. I tend to use the My Fitness Pal Android app to come up with a total amount of calories etc consumed per day and then put this into the BodyMedia website to allow…

I tried running after a long time not doing it in trainers and my feet were in agony afterwards - I didn't think here was any major difference between running shoes and normals cross trainers but massively wrong. Bough some and the difference was shocking as the pain was not there. Again, to just repeat what others have…

Got the iPhone but became bored with it in the end and moved to Samsung Galaxy S2 which has proven to be the most useful phone I have had. In my opinion iPhone's greatest weakness (default locked in) is also it's greatest strength (no dodgy apps screwing around with the O/S), but it really depends what you want. Also tried…

"j4nash i sport facial hair. i look like a man child without it. " Pretty much agree with that sentiment 100% - pics on here are old now, but it's a framing device and breaks up a long face ;)

I have a similar problem of having a fair amount of pain after running in either my calves or my groin, so much that I am seriously considering moving to cycling for a while as this does not give me the same amount of grief. Everyone that I have spoken to says that it is natural to feel aches after running, but this is a…

Don't like gyms, places to go where you can get judged and pay for the privilege. Never worked out in one and never will (slightly militant on this point :) ). Sure there are some very good ones out there and maybe just the gyms I have thought about signing up for in the past, but I am much more motivated working on my own…

Standing because no-one would be willing to be the first one to sit down... :)

It's not social ineptness - it's social astuteness to be able to spot the collectors from the people who will stand by you when you are at your lowest.

Possibly not what you are looking for, but I choose not to go the gym on the basis of feeling self-conscious, so I am using this. http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Your-Own-Gym/dp/0971407614 It does certainly push me and there are exercises in there for the arms, but as I said, not sure if it would be useful, but thought I…

Except then you get people who want you to send texts all the time and will start to take a non-reply as some personal insult :)

Sometimes people who are introverted can appear extroverted and I find it better to be surrounded by fewer people who understand you rather than many people who "collect" you

Portsmouth, so walking a lot along the sea, even when freezing...
