For pace specific songs check out jog.fm. You can input your pace and it will generate a list of songs that will align with that pace. I also like to download mixes from RockmyRun.com. Mashups are another favorite of mine. They keep me from getting bored half way through the song. Steady130 offers a lot of great mashups.

Without looking back at the website, I seem to remember it being $6 and free shipping.

Sounds tasty! I also like to make a "sweet" version. I add nut butter, cinnamon and "protein frosting" to mine. Mmmm!

Machines are okay, but you will get a much better result using free weights. New Rules of Lifting is good, also check into Strong Lifts. There are a ton of videos on the web that you can learn proper form from if the PT in your gym is not a good resource. And, don't feel goofy with the guys. Most of them are either happy…

Great job on that first 5k! You can definitely continue to run and lift - it's even recommended. Strong muscles tend to help ward off injuries and muscle imbalance. There are many training plans available on the web. You should be able to find one that will accomodate your schedule. For a half marathon, 3-4 days of running…

What type of cardio do you enjoy or are looking to do? If it's running you are interested in check out Couch to 5k.

I used to wear Asics exclusively, but kept getting blisters. Now I am in Brooks Adrenaline. Love the Brooks. I wear a stability shoe. When I was fitted, they gave me several shoes to try on that were stability shoes.

What works for me may not work for you. You might try a few things before you decide what works best for you. Here are some things I would try: -try working out with a partner for some of your workouts to vary it up -put together a new playlist to listen to during your workout -write down your goal or intention for each…

What exactly are you looking for? Meal ideas? Results?

Several factors can contribute to dizzy spells. First and foremost, I would get it checked out by a medical professional to rule out any health issues (diabetes, inner ear infections, sinus problems, low or high blood pressue, etc). If everything checks out well, consider what you are doing when the dizzy spells occur and…

Sometimes we just need to step back and take a look at the basic. Are you weighing out/measuring your food? Taking extra BLTs (bites, licks, tastes)? Any new medicines? Changes in routine? The important thing is to not give up. Keep working toward your goals.

I would go with steady state cardio after the HIT portion of your workouts. You want to be able to go strong during the HIT session.

Thanks for the ideas!

I briefly glanced through your diary. From quick glance it looks like your sugar counts are okay to me. If you are concerned about them and would like to bring them down, I found a few areas where sugar is lurking in your foods. Codiments can be one area that we don't think about - such as sauces, ketchup, dressings, etc.…

Aside from all the savory options already given (veggies, spices, etc), I like to make mine sweet style. 1. cook egg whites sprinkled with cinnamon on nonstick pan. meanwhile, in I microwave a chopped apple (also sprinkled with cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice) for 2 minutes. When the apple is done and egg whites are almost…

I was going to check your food diary, but it doesn't look like you track your intake here. It might help if we had an example day to look at.

Sugars are hidden in so many places - especially processed foods. Fruit is also high in sugar. Try a 3 to 1 ratio of veggies to fruits and see if that helps. Not that fruits are bad, I just try to balance with more veggies. With that being said, even some veggies have a higher sugar content - such as baby carrots and red…

I will have to check the website out later!! :) Some ideas that come to mind: I like to use a spiralizer for zucchini or yellow squash and make spaghetti like strand out of the veggie. Can top it with protein of choice and various sauces. Also spaghetti squash is good for pasta replacement. (Remember there are carbs in…

There are a ton of choices that don't include having bread for breakfast. Here's some ideas (sorry if they repeat previous posts): -cottage cheese and fruit -omelet or egg scramble -leftovers from previous night dinner - breakfast doesn't have to include traditional breakfast foods -turkey sausage -yogurt (I suggest buying…

In many recipes you can substitute tofu for the protein. The trick, as previously mentioned is pressing out as much of the water as possible. You'll want to use extra firm or firm varieties for stir frys, scrambles, pan frying. Stick with the silken for smoothies or dips.

I saw someone put their brussel sprouts on a skewer and then grilled them. What a great idea for days you don't want to heat the oven (and the house) up.
