I am another person who looks at the whole week so I have to log every bite or I blow 7 days worth of data. But yes, it's harder on days that I overeat.

Wow, way to guilt a mom. "Give yourself pre eclampsia" also, 5lbs isn't even 5 lbs. if you drank more water that day or were weighed after a meal that could mean a few extra pounds. It really does fluctuate. Your blood pressure is fine, too. She shouldn't be throwing around terms Iike pre-e unless it's legitimate and she's…

Oh, re the risk of uterine rupture, yes it is higher in women who've had a section, that is an undisputed fact. But rupture doesn't mean death of you or the baby, it doesn't mean you can't have more children. But it does mean you'll have an emergency that you want handled by competent providers.

Seek a second opinion immediately. I just had my second vbac. A long, large baby with a four day s of ruptured membranes and erratic labor. There were some medical interventions including Pitocin and they were thoughtfully considered. No one ever said to me, you must do xyz, they said here is a option, I will leave while…

Congratulation! My little guy almost shared a birthday with her. So glad you got to have a birth where you show up and push :)

He came yesterday, my water had been broken for a while and then contractions started... It was annoying because things slowed down after I was admitted. I would have preferred to do more laboring at home, but We probably wouldn't have made it to the hospital in time. My husband is really pushing for hb next time, maybe we…

Check out the group linked above. If you didn't eat an extra 10k calories then you didn't gain 3lbs - bloating is super common in early pregnancy and if you've been losing weight, you may not recognize it as bloating (I didn't, because my pants still fit fine!) Hormones are being dumped in your body left and right and you…

I think it is getting close now! Having more contractions every day.

I've been vegetarian since I was a child, and this is my third pregnancy. I've been trying to focus on protein this pregnancy, since I've had a hard time with it in past pregnancies (it's hard to get enough protein when you're craving bagels and corn chips). I have no idea if I am turned off from meat - the meat that I…

I think it very much depends on the practice. I had three ultrasounds - one was after I experienced bleeding and the urgent care provider (so, not someone who usually uses a fetal doppler) was unable to detect a heartbeat. The second was a regular 20 week scan which pretty much everyone gets, and then my midwives suggested…
-
The last one I had was 6 lbs at 34 wks. The tech said that at that point, it could be up to a pound off either way. No more scans for me, though, in countdown mode now:)
-
I hope this is it for you :) if I am still pregnant at 41 wks I'm eating whatever I want... But still have a week and a half to get there.
-
Way to go!

That sums things up pretty well! I am due the same time and it gets very uncomfortable by the end of the day. Unfortunately, there really isn't a terribly accurate way to predict that labor is ready to start, but I've heard a lot of people swear by accupressure and massage for the purposes of getting things going. I hope…

I'd focus more on the nutrients than the calorie goals - in the coming weeks, you'll probably feel like eating more.
-
It's a great tool but I lost plenty of weight prior to owning a food scale. I would also say that accuracy counts for more if you are eating closer to maintenance. If you have a 1000 cal deficit each day, surely you'll lose weight using measuring cups or partitioning things out.

The brands I've looked at have 200 to 500 potassium per serving, not sure why there is such a difference, just comparing labels on Amazon. I have some coming today, it's supposed to be good to drink during labor.
-
Coconut water is supposed to be a good source... Just started drinking it. I can't hit my potassium either. I wonder where the recommendations come from. And eggplant parm is definitely something I have indulged in several times this pregnancy.

I think when you are just starting out it can be helpful to avoid the foods that are especially tempting. I wouldn't expect to avoid those foods forever, but once you've practiced portion control and calorie counting for a bit, you may find it easier to add in reasonable amounts of pizza etc. I do think it's dangerous to…

Dried beans are great if you are on a budget. Vegetarian chili with black beans, can of crushed tomatoes, can of diced, can of corn. Pasta with chickpeas, veggies, and parmesan cheese. Soups with carrots, potatoes, and lentils/beans. Aldi has all the staples and plenty of healthy foods (if by healthy you mean produce - I…

That is my philosophy, too. I try to cook stuff that keeps well as leftovers.

I am very familiar with the first trimester fog, and I hope you are feeling better soon - it's no fun.
-
I hope the test goes well!

Thanks! I don't meet a lot of other moms who served a sentence in 10-Month Limbo. I would really like to go just a touch earlier than 42 weeks this time... maybe this little will "only" be 6 days overdue - here's hoping!
-
Oh nm I read another post of yours. Just tell him to stop, ew.

That *is* inspiring!

I'm eating a little over maintenance. I aim for maintenance plus 500-2000 on a weekly basis. I did the same thing where I really didn't net a gain until 20 weeks, then found myself gaining 1, 2, even 3, pounds in a single week.
